Ого, какое видео мне попалось в 2024 году. В 2009 году, когда мне подарили PS2 эта игра была моей самой любимой, перепрошел её 7-8 раз и только ВЧЕРА узнал о том, что там были чит коды. Жаль конечно, что их немного, в основном скучные скины ( разве что южнокорейские девчули зашли ) ну и по классике здоровье, деньги и боеприпасы. Однако мне этого хватило, что бы спустя 15 лет поставить на свой телефон эмулятор PS2, купить геймпад и снова начать в неё играть, но уже с кодами) Жаль только, что у AetherSX2 стоит ограничение у этой игры в 30ФПС...
Damn I wish Ea can remaster mercenaries 2 this game is my childhood I play it every day back when I was a teenager I play it all night and all morning and is one of the best open world games I ever play I also remember laughing too hard when I betrayed the chines and Betrayed all of my factions now in 2024 I still remember this amazing game it sucks that EA shut down of the best studios that made mercenaries 1 and 2 and it sucks it won’t be getting a third game

My dream was to pilot the helicopter that appears at 5:48 Now that im adult, i learned that, this helicopter wasn't meant to be piloted by us. I still don't know why
You don't know how much I wanted to fly them when I was a kid. I even killed the pilot and landed the helicopter. But it never worked. Too bad this game has a small community. This game needs mods and at best a release on pc.
@@overfault Is there a way to possess an NPC in this version? If so just like Halo they may have the enable pilot driver seat ticked for AI unlike player controlled characters. Provided a vehicle enter animation/ script exists if my understanding is correct. Such an absolute gem of a game. Feels like no game has came close to POD's detailed sandbox.

This series needs to come back! Also, this game would benefit from a remaster, at the very least. The draw distance and fog are atrocious! I didn't mind it back then, but graphically this game did not age well at all.
@@olympian3 Doesn't really matter to me if you can see everything. I just want to see more than 10 feet in front of me! Also, how many times did you crash your helo because the game didn't have time to render something in front of you?
i am surprised you managed to get ahold of merc DLC even though EA shuts down the server your video is definitely recorded on playstation and much newer too i would love to get my hands on that DLC diplomat tank

The problem is that we need to create a file converter to extract all the content inside the game. But I don't know how to write programs and just like you I dream that someday the game will be noticed.
@@overfault It is possible to extract models and textures from Mercenaries 1 in the emulator, but it is hellish. The models come distorted and with UV out of place. I've managed to extract and fix models from other games, but it's a LOT of work and the models are never 100% the same as the originals. I find it strange that Mercenaries still doesn't have an extraction tool, as other lesser-known games do. I finally managed to respond without RU-vid deleting my comment.
@@DarkWatcher149 If you know about it, can you tell me how I can remove the game interface from the game? I tried using cheat engine but I just don't have enough time to figure it all out
@@overfault It might be possible through texture dump. It is a process applicable to any emulator game. You can change the textures however you want. People on the internet even post texture packs for various PS2 games. The game interface is usually made up of textures applied to planes. If you modify the textures making them invisible (by manually erasing the texture with an eraser in an image editing program), then, most likely, the interface will disappear. The most difficult path would be to change the game's codes. I don't understand coding.

Good stuff - I remember goofing around with this stuff a long time ago. It's the only way to access the Forklift & Daewoo Matiz knockoff along with a few other vehicles. The idiotic comments/questions are exactly why I stopped making game vids lol. It'd be handy to have a "disable AI" .pnach so the AI didn't start flying helis around and blowing eachother up to hell & back on the veh test map - it'd also come in handy on the char test map. I remember being annoyed with that a decade ago but never tried making a pnach for it or having one of my fellow RE friends help me out. I ended up using Omniconvert to convert an AR MAX code to at least turn the hostile AI off. The crash on the veh test map that seems to happen unless you stay off to the far right side of the map initially to reach the occupied/manned civi vehicles area is very odd.
Yeah, the crash only happens near the manned NK vehicles section of the map. I'm curious what causes it and if it can be fixed. It happens near the unmanned NK artillery guns too I think - the PCSX2 console gets flooded with "open fail name ¥POIDUMP.HTM;1"
Interesting to note on the Xbox version the .ini files are present (and for some reason, the veh one is missing MainMasterScript blank) but the rest of the stuff has been deleted. Game hangs trying to load them.
About the crash, I somehow managed to get to that point through many loads of the game save. I have not found the cause. In any case, that car and huge guns are in another place on the map. Thank you for such valuable information!. I will be back to this game again someday. Last time I tried to transfer the UI and weapon sounds from the demo to the original game, but I failed. After that I left the game stored on my hard disk for the sake of collection.
I just spawn in and I just get a black screen but i hear in game sound? Changed graphics didn't notice and change still black screen. (edit: Go to the web in the link the 01 02 03 were just sampls ty)
This seems like a decent demo to the game. But it's weird how different it is. I dunno if it's the demo, the emulator or just me imagining things but it seemed like you moved faster and could melee more quickly. Also paying for the extraction is a funny thought
This is quite cool! Though are all these maps just sitting there in the game's files all these years later? I'm not a game dev or anything but wouldn't that add onto the resource cost and storage usage for the game?
@@overfault Nice to know. Still, weird how game devs don't remove these sorta things, even on the last days of programming before release. Guess it makes for a cool little hidden detail though. This is my favourite game of all time and more maps would've definitely been welcome (big flat map seems cool)
Why they don't remake this game, is beyond me. I loved this game so much, and it's like an early GTA. This game is one that I completed in full -- both #1 and #2.

Yes, the add-ons are online, I don't remember where I found them. But if you want to play on PC, you have to use ps3 emulator. By the way, on my gtx 1080, mercenaries are not stable and sometimes crashes.
