Sometimes things that trigger the nostalgia feeling for me give me this awful feeling of how amazing things used to be but this song is different, it triggers the nostalgia feeling but its 100% pure happiness. Also if you haven't heard the remix to this song it will blow your MIND!!!! Search youtube for "David Guetta, Cedric Gervais & Chris Willis - Would I Lie To You" The remix is better in some ways and in some ways worse but overall it makes me want to drive 100mph in a convertible in peak summer.
I was watching an old episode of Come Dine With Me, UK and they played the song at the end of the show and it brought back so many memories! I completely forgot about this song. It's SO good!! (2024)
My mom is a Salvadorian immigrant that gained amnesty after their civil war. She used to work at Pic n Save and a National Stores Inc. in Lincoln Heights and McArthur Park, Los Angeles. On the weekends, she'd drive a taxi and work one or two sweatshop jobs as a seamstress (Overlock, double stitch, tags and ironing). When she couldn't find or afford a babysitter (single mother), she'd bring me along on rides and shifts at the sweatshop. She absolutely loved American pop and smooth jazz. KOST 103.5, STAR 98.7, The Wave, Rick Dees Top 40 in the morning, AND K-EARTH 10, she cycled through all those stations, even on her days off when she'd clean our studio apartment. John Secada, Gloria Estfan, Hall & Oates, Prince, Mariah Carey, Sade, Alanis Morissette, Fine Young Cannibals, Charles and Eddie were on a loop as early as i can remember. In 4th grade, my older, jaded cousin gave me my first taste of rock n roll with the AC/DC Live in Donnington 3-tape set, Let There be Rock, Roy Orbison ("Only the Lonely"), and Motorhead Orgasmatron albums. Although i grew to mostly love metal, darkwave, synthwave, prog rock, rock n roll and house music; this song will always take me back to that special place where there was no ego, identity, or image to stress or protect... Just the jams on the radio, the purest of feelings that hit me when they'd come on, my brick ass old school Gameboy, my 2 for $5 Big n Tasty burgers from Micky Ds, and my mom getting me through my early life and harder times.
Antonio Vega para mi es el mejor de España y está entre los mejores del mundo.El corazón que ponía al componer los temas y su alma pura,lo hacen grande para siempre
