Hi! Do you mean the inventory tutorial I was following for setting up that system, or just of the RPG I'm making? If its the RPG, all the livestreams are on my channel, and if its the inventory system, its made by "Oops I Dev'd" on youtube!
Been enjoying watching vods while I draw or model things. Just very recently (as it the past week) decided to start my game dev/ programming journey. Happy to see your demo coming along so nicely, and looking forward to playing it when the time comes
I'd start by watching Heartbeasts latest tutorial series for a space game (2d, top down). Once you've gone through maybe 5-10 episodes of that, go start your own small project and try to do things from scratch. Every time you hit a wall, just start googling how to do what you need! Another great resource is Godotneers on youtube. Watch his "Learn Programming with GDscript video". Its a great resource!
Once again you're mastering Godot. Thanks for sharing the progress on the game. It's been a wild ride. Let's hope you manage to fix all the things, and add more to it to make it more exciting. :)
It's a wild day. More Godot coding I see. I like the progress of the game so far, hope you continue working on it improving it and releasing it to the public eventually.
thanks! Godot has been great for me so far. I havent really had any experience with other engines, but I like the speed and simplicity of working with godot so far
Hey man, been following your lives for a little while since I want to get into godot and making games myself with the goal of making a rogue-like as well. Looking back through your streams is really informative and chill to watch and even though I don't have a good understanding of how most of it works yet, watching you code and figure it out in real time helps me see the reality of coding/creating a video game which is nice since most of what I see is tutorials of people speeding through it like they know exactly what to write and where over the course of a few hours. I just missed this one by a few hours but I hope I can catch you in the next one you do, keep it up mate :)
thanks a ton! It means a lot to hear this feedback, I'm glad its easy to see the reality of what Game Dev is, especially for a beginner like me. Yesterday was frustrating for me and I gotta make sure I dont get too off the rails when things dont work correctly lol Appreciate it, hopefully my streams can help people learn from my mistakes :D In the end, if you dont stop trying to learn, eventually you will get better and better.
Construct 3 is the best environment I have seen for 2-d games. I develop in Godot, Unreal, Unity and Construct 3. It's just so fast for development that you can make a multiplayer 2-d game ready for sale in a matter of weeks.
Hi! Unfortunately right now Im focusing fully on my game since I dont have much time for anything else. But good luck in your learning journey, you can always stop by the discord if you are interested. Just drop by the stream some time and ill send you an invite!
You need to look at the loadgame file and compare your current score to loaded score. If current score is greater then save the new current score. Hope that helps
thanks brother!! yeah it really helps if I focus myself back on to the important tasks. Then I usually get distracted about 30 mins later and have to reset again lol
The first day of the year was planning what games I want to make, the second was planning out the tasks im going to have to do on the first game, the rest of the month is development.
