I am an artist and instructor sharing some techniques and lessons. I work in water media and pastels in a loose, realistic style. I am fascinated by texture and blurring the line between canvas and sculpture. Although nature is my subject, I intensify the viewing experience with brighter colors, unusual viewpoints, and vivid texture.
I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have participated and received awards in numerous local art shows, group exhibits and juried exhibitions and my work is in many private collections. Part of my passion for art is teaching others. I have taught students of all ages for over 25 years. Videos are my newest venture in teaching other to see the possibilities.
I lived the first half of my life in North Carolina and the second in Texas. After 3 cold, wet years in Virginia my husband and I headed south again into sunny Florida. I'm in my happy place, close to the coast!
Thank you soo much 😊 This was an amazing and thorough review I use Procreate; Adobe; can do watercolor and lately have been obsessed with Affinity Designer I would love if u would do more vids - eg create pattern in Affinity Designer - create pattern; save pattern swatch; upload to Spoonflower and get proof back; show how you check for white lines on screen; and do you use Affinity Designer Pantone color palettes (which I ❤ and use and is that ok for Spoonflower Also: ❤❤ how you got the lovely watercolor effect in Procreate - what brushes did you use ? Would love to see a vid - Procreate to Pattern to proof I know there are other designers doing tutorials - but your very thorough video here is very professional and compelling - plus I love how you show the real life mistakes Ps - your art is really lovely - hope you are making lots of sales ! 😊 Ps - u could do a whole playlist on Spoonflower 😊

Thanks! No, unfortunately I don’t have video of the bigger painting. I did it mainly on my easel and I haven’t figured out a good way to video that without me getting in the way!
Your hibiscus flowers are gorgeous, Charlotte! I like the vertical elements you introduced into your composition. Beautifully painted. I hope you will participate in the Favorite Bird Art Challenge I am hosting- you would be a great addition!
