I know you made this video years ago but I just installed these on my driver side and passenger door after watching your video. Fixed my door closing problem on both. Don't know why I waited years to do this easy fix. Got 2 of the parts on amazon for $30. Only took 30 minutes per door. Appreciate it!
I see a plug in sensor on the rear axle transfer case I believe. (I’m learning my truck and not always right with names/terms) is that what I’m looking for?
What do you mean by a plug in sensor? Are you looking at the rear diff? That is not where this sensor is, it is on the transmission in the middle of the truck.
@@chriss4365 Nope not mine. 1999 f150 XL 4.2 engine. The thermostat housing is LITERALLY sideways. BUT with all that said, your video still helped me. It was just a pain in my ass because I had to hold it there and that didn't work. So I used gasket maker on the tube, put on the gasket, and used more gasket maker on the other side of the gasket and the thermostat to ensure it was nice and puttied on. Wiggled it in carefully, as it was a wet seal, and fought as hard as i could to maneuver it in there. No leaks! Then i found out the pin hole was supposed to be in the 12 o clock position and I just left it alone. So far no issues other than shooting up high in temps the first time I drove it for 3 miles. Turned it off, burped it a little, no problems since (yet). Only 1 day in so far, I had to give it 24 hours for the gasket maker to set before adding in coolant.
@@chriss4365 I also noticed your gasket was a nice rubber gasket. The one I purchased from Autozone was more of a paper machete gasket and it could have ripped very easily, which is why I used gasket maker. Because I had a bad feeling that piece of paper wasn't going to make it by itself. I read a comment someone else said you forgot gasket maker, but they weren't considering other factors such as you had a nice, fitted silicone gasket.
Mine wouldn't idle at all. I had to sit in it and hold the accelerator down slightly for about 20 minutes before it finally learned how to idle. But it worked!
What if you don't have a emergency brake like that one but the one that you pull up in the middle on a 2003 camry le? My car won't stay running after a muffler change, don't know if that has anything to do with it? Please help
@@chriss4365 the Walker SoundFX Muffler, Direct Replacement, No Fabrication Needed muffler is the part that I used. Also someone put a smaller muffler on my car before this so it was very loud. Also had to substitute the flange to connect it. Does the car need to relearn how to run again?
How much does this compressor cost? Mine went out and it costs $900 + $90 for taxes. Was this a reasonable price? It was very interesting watching your mechanical work. Thanks
@chriss4365 the mechanic said he got it from Toyota which has a year warranty. Are they higher priced from maker of car? Labor must have cost more than compressor?
My speedometer works sporadically and only for a few seconds I changed the vss sensor but it still doesn't do anything I also changed the cluster Could doing what you show in your video work?
What i meant was it stops from the rubber seal then it pops in fast once you overcome that resistance. Its kinda like a pop but not really. Sorry for the confusion. Push it in and put the bolt and should be no issues.
I used loctite blue. Issue is you can't get it off later. Just a last resort before having to replace the compressor. If you need to replace the compressor I have a video.
@@chriss4365 okok just planning on doing the pulley because my ac works fine but when I start my car on cold starts the compressor pulley doesn’t catch on my belt right away and I’m assuming the pulley is just going bad
@@user-wz2de5ze1r This is a clutchless pulley and should always turn. If the compressor seizes that part is designed to break so that the car can still be used.

Your welcome, The 2 lines come together. You have to replace both and it is tricky to get the lines to seal properly on the compressor. You may have issue getting the new line to connect to the dryer.
