Hi there! I'm Emma, and I cruise with our cat mascot Captain Hudson. I share videos about my adventures cruising on oceans and rivers. From luxury yachts to HUGE mega-ships, budget inside cabins to suites, you'll find it all on this channel.
Our mascot Captain Hudson was created to raise money for a fabulous charity that operates hospital ships called Mercy Ships, we've raised over $57,000 so far and there are more than 4700 Captain Hudson's in the world. Thank you SO much for making this possible! I'm so proud of the brilliant community we've created here.
How weird that they didn’t just let people stay on it as a floating hotel. I’m currently pet-sitting for someone and some of those on board may well have had pet sitters too. There are so many knock-on consequences for more people than just the passengers themselves.
1:34 Old people don't want to do all those things. I know, because I was once young like you but now I am old. Old people just want to relax and drink a coffee, or go explore an old city and soak up it's history. For reasons I can't explain, the closer to death you get, the more you are interested in history, or as I call it, "how we got to where we are now"
I know it was a tv show, (The Love Boat) but I always watched in horror as Cruise Director Julie McCoy would tell anyone who asked what cabin someone was staying in. Many times it was someone who was not even a passenger, but rather just there before the ship departed. What could possibly go wrong?
Thank you, just working on the 3rd as we speak I hope to have it live on Thursday for everybody and maybe Tuesday for the early access channel members. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
We always go for inside cabins there far cheaper . And how much time do you spend inside the cabin for me its just somewhere to sleep . I would rather spend the extra money on trips and drinks.
We recently got back from a 7 day Alaska cruise. We had an inside cabin and had no regrets. It was so rainy, windy, and cold, that I doubt we would have spent much time on the balcony anyway. And the balcony cabin was about double the price of the inside cabin. We spent SOME time outside on the top deck but we found that we really had to bundle up with layers to be able to do it for any length of time. We enjoyed much of the mountain viewing from inside the ship looking out a window. Most everyone else did the same. It's Alaska--you never know what you are going to get with the weather.
I am going on a cruise to Alaska week after next on HAL. My roommate upgraded us from oceanview to balcony (apparently, HAL made an offer she couldn’t refuse), so I am super excited to go. It looks amazing! Looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos… BTW, Capt. Hudson will be coming with us. Got a version 4 a week or so ago, so he’s definitely coming with! 💜
I went on this Ferry and it was wonderful. We got an alert and a call when the northern lights popped out. I got great pictures. Did the dog sled trip also. Im glad you had a good time. I would go again.
"Mandarin" is the SPOKEN Chinese (it is the official dialect of China) as opposed to Cantonese or Shanghainese...). WRITTEN Chinese is always referred to as "Chinese" (no dialect).
Any time spent on an Alaskan sailing is wonderful but for my wife and I, NCL Encore wasn’t as good of an experience as Celebrity Millennium the year before. It’s all a matter of preference for sure but the downsides for us were the food quality (it was fine but I wasn’t as impressed), the size of the ship (long queues to get off in ports), and the docking locations. This was the biggest one for us but we didn’t like how the Encore was always docked in just a slightly inconvenient location, particularly in Ketchikan and Juneau. Plus sides, an itinerary that includes Glacier Bay, the ship was very nice, and we enjoyed the different venues throughout. We also enjoyed the freestyle dining model even if we didn’t care for the food itself that much. I feel like Alaskan sailings are more port focused and we appreciated not having to stick to a set dining time.
Hi Emma..just read about your inside cabin on Cunard. You said you take your daylight alarm....I must get one! My hubby lectures on ships & when they put us in an inside cabin, we go to bed with the bridge camera on tv, volume down on the ships that have background music. Anyway, it's night vision so dark at night, light when the sun comes up. Works great...especially with the jet lag time warp thing 😊 I so enjoy your videos & tours...you're extremely good at this! Go Emma!
