Hi Everyone! I'm Amber. Welcome to Books and Beaches!
I've always loved to read and I'm obsessed with beaches, so I thought it would be great to combine the two!
I love a variety of favorite genres, including mystery/thrillers, historical fiction, and contemporary romance. I can't wait to bring you more content as I grow my channel.
I recommend reading T. Kingfisher’s book Nettle and Bone. Everyone seemed to love it. I gave it 5 stars. Thanks for the recommendations. There are a few I want to check out.
When We Flew Away is just right up my alley, just got finished taking my daughter around Germany and one of our stops was the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. Thanks for that one!
So fun. Great that it wasn't a book that you had already read. I will look forward to your review on this book as like you I have never heard of this author before. Just had a quick look online and I see that this is book 13 in his Mike Bowditch Mystery series so a backlist for you to be able to work you way through if you end up enjoying this author.
How fun!! ❤glad you went for it and picked up a book from her booth!! My daughter gave me a "blind date with a book" box for Christmas, a book for every month this year!! It has been so fun!!
Thanks for doing this with me!!! It was so fun. You picked two good ones to start with. I felt the same way about Expiration Dates. There are images from September House that will never leave my mind. Super creepy.
This is random, but I love your eyeshadow! Do you mind me asking what palette/combo you are using? I really enjoyed your video!! I'm a new subscriber 😊.
Thank you for joining me here! I think this look was a combo of a Natasha Denona mini palette I used all the time (Starlette) and a Tarte pot eyeshadow I’ve had forever. Makeup was how I started watching RU-vid!
I don’t know why I thought you were an English teacher! Our tech people stay pretty busy yearlong, but the end and beginning of the school year is the busiest.
You’re actually not wrong! I was an English teacher- and it’s what my degree is in. I taught middle school ELA and reading before transitioning into my tech coach role in the schools 😊
@@booksandbeaches That’s awesome! Did you have to get a different degree to transition to tech coach? I’m an English teacher and I’d also be interested in that.
Sign Here was one of the worst books I read last year. I very rarely give out 1 star, but it was just absolutely awful and not at all what I was expecting.
I'm looking forward to The Grandest Game - I still need to read The Brothers Hawthorne in that series so I'll try to get to that this month. I read On Rotation by Shirlene Obuobi and really liked it - didn't know she had another one coming out! I'm excited for that!
I liked Brothers Hawthorne- definitely different to see things more from the boys point of view. And I need to pick up On Rotation- that’s the one I have on my shelf!
Christmas With The Cranks is based from Skipping Christmas by John Grisham. I read Skipping Christmas and I liked it. Do you read books written by John Grisham?
That’s right! I always forgot about that. I think when I went to order this special copy, it was one the author linked to at a specific UK bookstore… off to Blackwells I go!
Lately a lot of book tubers are unhauling their books which is inspiring because I need to do that also. Too many books, too little time 😊 Off subject, have you lost weight? You look like you are. You look good!
Thank you! I actually have! I’ve been on a journey since the fall- making slow but steady progress. All about bettering myself and being the healthiest person I can be 😊
@@booksandbeaches congratulations! I know it’s hard to lose weight and slow and steady is the way to do it! You look great! Maybe do a video on your journey if you’re comfortable with that. I would definitely be interested! 🩷🌷
I recently went through all my books! I took an average of there ratings on Goodreads and Storygraph. Anything less than 4 stars in an average is gone! I donated more than 300 books to my local library so they can use them in their library sales! I was going to take them around to free little libraries but way to many to make that feasible. So many books, so little time
