Good morning. Although I like your travel videos, the ones from Japan remain my favourite. Maybe it's because I've never been there but want to go? I've certainly seen very many videos of this beautiful country! Interesting to see Denim made so high profile. Fact of the day - This serge cloth was first produced in a town called Nimes n the South of France. Consequently cotton produced and dyed there became known as 'de Nimes'! Ashley definitely likes to buy cute things! The peach can be considered the King, or a kami, in the fruit world! Peaches are so luxurious and delicious. Not sure about coffee jelly? I used to use a lot of dry ice when I was at work, but not to freeze coffee though!! You two have a great evening!!!

Good afternoon, Neale! We are glad that you like Japan travel videos. We will definitely film more in the future. Hope that you can go to Japan one day! This is a tidy and beautiful country. Denim products in the Bikan area are very decent and elegant! Peach and grapes there are also very delicious! It was our first time to try coffee jelly. It has a rich coffee flavour, but very bitter! Hope you have a great evening ahead! ❤

At one point you said "We were full!" - really? I still can't believe the capacity that young people have to eat so much!! Those prices though were astonishing!!! Again tripe - 🤮!!!! It's a wonder that the Italians can find any space to build anything new? It's either agricultural land, natural landscapes and very old buildings??? It really is the most beautiful country in Europe though! The Holbein that you mentioned was Hans Holbein the Younger, who was German, he painted Henry VIII and then painted members of his Court and Ministers and, of course his six wives. In fact he produced the highest number of Tudor paintings compared with other artists. Have a wonderful weekend.

Good morning you two! It will be a shorter comment today (you'll be pleased to hear!). To begin with, I'm glad that you're back in Japan! The cafés all looked nice. I have never liked desserts or these various coffee drinks that can be obtained these days. I much prefer savoury food - like the crepes, pasta and sandwiches, and also only really like plain black coffee. It's nice that you can experience these foods and tastes though, especially since you don't seem to ever put weight on! I'll leave it there and look forward to Saturday's video. Take care and have a great week.

Good morning you two! Rome is very beautiful, there is no doubt about that. It is a relatively small place though and it's in danger of being swamped by tourists - a bit like Venice, Barcelona, Kyoto etc. I don't know what the happy medium is; obviously the Government of these countries benefit and the local small businesses benefit, but the local people definitely don't! I don't blame people for wanting to see these places, I want to see these places, but the crowds that go there are a great inconvenience to the local people, who don't get any of the benefit. It's a tricky problem. How old is Angelo? If he has been working there since 1939, he must have started a a boy. I mean my Mum is nearly 94 and she was born in 1930, so I just wonder when he was born. From what I remember about Roman history, Agrippa was a General who battled against Mark Anthony (Caesar's 'bestie) and Cleopatra? By the way, the name Caesar gave us the words Kaiser and Tsar. Napoleon, of course, was French and he was the most successful General in history, having fought and won so many battles! Although he wasn't a very nice guy! Compared to other Generals like Alexander of Macedon, Julius Caesar and any modern Generals, he was the greatest! I don't know anybody that doesn't like Italian food and drinks, you two seemed to enjoy it? It's amazing to be able to see works of art created by all those Italian renaissance artists. Obviously they didn't produce the artwork totally by themselves, they had assistants and apprentices who did most of the work. But it is still a thrill to see them in person. Anyway, I have been talking for too long, as usual. Let's hope that the 'magic water' really helps you with your studies! Bye for now.

Good afternoon, Neale! We are not commenting on the problem of over-tourism as we have talked about it before. We think the key is tourists need to behave well! Thanks for all the information and details about Roman history. We are not sure when was Angelo born. He should have started when he was very young and he is still passionate about his job. We admire him a lot. We had a great time in Rome. Hope that you have a wonderful weekend in London. Bye~

Good morning guys! Rome is a truly beautiful place. The food that you had was incredibly expensive - 10 Euro for tomato and mozzarella??? Still, I suppose that must have been tourist price? It is still delicious though. I was brought up a Roman Catholic, as my parents came from Ireland a very Catholic country. I totally refute it all now though! I bet the Papal Mass was an ordeal? It probably lasted an hour or two?? Did you know that Vatican City has the highest crime rate in Europe, and I've just checked - its the fourth highest in the World!! This is obviously due to it's tiny population, compared to the high amount of tourist targeted crime - pick pockets etc. A dangerous place eh? Nissom is very thoughtful and sweet to think of Ashley and buy her some flowers. Ladies seem to love flowers for some reason which I don't understand??? One of the first views of the record shop showed a picture of Jimi Hendrix on the right, Elton John on the left, and one of my all time heroes in the middle - the genius that is Frank Zappa!!! The colosseum is amazing when you think about it's age and the great condition that it's in. How many of today's buildings will still be there in almost 2,000 years? As always, thank you for the lovely video and having to put up with all my opinions of everything! I think that, as a person gets older, he becomes more opinionated, and even grumpy? I hope that you have a good evening and that everything else is going well for you both.
@AshleyandNissom
@AshleyandNissom 16 дней назад
Good evening, Neale! Thanks for your opinions indeed. We think that 10 euro for tomatoes and mozzarella seems to be a standard price in Italy? We have seen some over 10 euro. In Hong Kong, we have seen one over 30 euro…LOL this is an overpriced case. Vatican City is perhaps dangerous, but we didn’t lose anything or sense any suspicious person. The Papal Mass was indeed an ordeal because it was too hot and shiny on that day. It lasted around half an hour. Anyway, we believe that this is a one-time experience in life. Have a nice evening ❤ hope everything goes well with you and your family

Good morning to you beautiful travellers!! It looked like a lovely day in Florence! I remember when I was younger, I could eat an enormous amount, and still have room for more. Looking at you two young people, I remember those days. These days I couldn't manage to eat a fraction of what you two eat (and stay so slim!). I also realise that I am not qualified to talk about all the cafés and restaurants you visit, because I no longer eat as much as a growing young person!! You had the coffee and gelato, then started talking about getting breakfast - I could not take a lot of calories like that! One day you will be 'old' and maybe agree? It's amazing that, architecture built by one family, still gets so many visitors 100's of years later! Nissom had his eye on that watch; it was in his style and I think that he wanted to own it??? Maybe Ashley fancied some of that pottery too? You look like you had a wonderful time in Florence? The book shop looked amazing, especially with the auditorium above it!! I am jealous of you, but it's lovely to see you having a good time. Your videos are so interesting, and you videoed them so well. You have excellent taste! I am going out shortly to meet my daughter and her youngest child. It will be his first trip alone with his Mum - her other two children have both travelled with their Mum before. I am looking for ward to it as they are only here for two days. See you both on Tuesday. Have a great weekend.

Good afternoon, Neale. Yes, we eat a lot. Nissom is always hungry. He needs a lot of energy, haha. But we will get you when we are older. Nissom wants to own every watch, but he is rational and he won’t buy expensive watches. Ashley loves those pottery, but again, we can’t afford it. Too expensive for us. Hope you had a wonderful time with your daughter and your grandson. He must be very lovely. See you on Tuesday ❤

Good morning you two wonderful travellers. Florence is a really beautiful place; it's many years since I was there, and it's just as I remembered. I had tripe when I was a little boy and I remember hating it! It was commonly eaten here years ago, but it is never seen now. The hams that you showed at the start looked amazing. It's a shame the steak, which looked so nice, wasn't that good? I'm glad that the roast pork sandwich was nice though - roast pork is such a delicious meat! Florence is such a lovely place; it's like living in a Renaissance world!! The buildings were real works of art and I see they are being cleaned? That should make them even more beautiful! I'm so glad that you enjoyed yourselves there, it's definitely somewhere that I would go again. Thank you for yet another stylish video. I hope that you are enjoying your evening and keeping up with your studies.

@AshleyandNissom 23 дня назад
Good evening, Neale! Florence is a beautiful city, but it is indeed quite touristy! Why do you hate tripe? Perhaps tripe available in London is not as good as those from Florence? We love tripe so much. We visit an Italian restaurant in Hong Kong frequently for tripe sandwiches and now we can finally taste the authentic ones! We love it so much! The steak is quite good, but definitely overrated! It is meaty, yet quite chewy. Overpriced! Have a good evening and a wonderful dinner. ❤

@@AshleyandNissom Tripe used to be eaten in some parts of Northern England, but it is seldom seen now. Perhaps people are too squeamish to eat it these days? Good morning guys! I just realised that I plan my morning around the expected time of your video being uploaded! I have decided that I will stop being any sort of food critic as I am not qualified to make comments. When I was young, I too could eat lots of food, these days I have the appetite of a small bird!!! It's nice to see young people eating so much - especially slim people like you two! All I will say is that the ham and salami platter you had looked very nice! I have never been to Venice and, while it looks lovely there, I don't think that I could cope with the number of people there. I believe that Venice is struggling with two main problems; rising sea levels and over tourism? Tourism is a wonderful thing until the number of visitors rise to such a high level. I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting to go there, but so many places in the world are experiencing really high numbers. This is great for Governments and local businesses, but it really impacts the locals at times. Plus tourists don't always behave in an appropriate manner; you know what I mean? I don't want to criticise people for wanting to go places and see the culture, art, architecture and atmosphere there after all, I have been a tourist too! I just wonder what the 'Happy Medium' is?? I see it was your last day there, where are you off to next? I wonder if you're ever at home!!! I'm pleased that you have so much fun and get so much experience of other places, but I think that it's nice to sleep in your own bed too! Enjoy your weekend you two - see you on Tuesday. By the way, a short reply is fine. RU-vid isn't your life, so concentrate on the important things.

Good afternoon, Neale! Venice is such a lovely place only if we stay in less touristy places such as the island of Giudecca. It is so quiet and peaceful. Perhaps we can’t come up with a solution to the problem of over tourism. It is nice that people travel around and experience different cultures in this global world, but the harm to locals can never be underestimated. The only important thing is that tourists should behave themselves! Our video next Tuesday is still an Italy vlog. Let’s keep it as a secret and you would be surprised. We are already home and taking a rest. Have a nice weekend!

Good morning you lovely couple! I think you found the two main problems with tourism in Europe - high prices and high numbers of people! Venice is beautiful, but as you probably realise, it has a huge problem with rising sea levels; those books that were water damaged looked like a very sad scene! I don't think that there is much I can say about Venice that you wouldn't know already? You already know that Marco Polo came from there, but a few other well known people came from Venice too. The artists Titian and Tintoretto (which was a nick name from his father's occupation as a dyer), the composer Vivaldi and of course, the famous lover Giocomo Casanova - the one who 'sighed' on the bridge! Venice was also one of the states that the word 'bank' came from, alone with Genoa and Florence. The word bank comes from the Italian word 'banque' which was the bench, or small table, that they used for business. Anyway, I'm getting boring now! Ashley looked nice wearing her glasses!! Have a good remainder of your day!

Ciao guys! I can't imagine being in Doha for anything other than a connecting flight to somewhere else; it's not my sort of place at all. I have been to many places in Europe, but never in Milan. It looks like a beautiful city. Italian food is one of my favourites - I love their bread, ham, pasta. The football flag was one of Internazionale Milano - Inter for short. I think that the cathedral was absolutely stunning! I love that sort of Italian Gothic with high vaulted ceilings, spires and pinnacles and abutments! It was cheap to visit too at only €10. (The symbol for the Euro - € - is actually the fifth letter of the Greek alphabet, although that's not really that interesting) Actually, Italy only became a country in about 1860; previous to that it was just a collection of separate States. I know that Victor Emmanuel II was a King of Italy before the monarchy was overthrown, but I don't know much more. I'm sorry that your meal was so expensive, maybe because it was in a high tourist area? Good to see Nissom carry the luggage like the true gentleman porter! Have a nice weekend.

The time in Italy is very memorable. Beautiful city and excellent Italian food. The meal is not in a tourist area, but a residential area! Not sure why it is so expensive. I have seen Biwako only on maps before and didn't realise it was so big! The lunch you had in Madocafé looked so delicious! I am not a big 'food fan', but all that food made me feel very hungry!!! I wonder why people always associate paddle steamers with The USA? They were invented in France, but I guess they were made famous by stories written by Mark Twain? (Do you know what his name means? His real name was Samuel Langhorn Clemens) Another interesting fact - Ashley can go to sleep here - have you heard of the wonderful Bridge, Rail and Shipbuilding engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel? He built the first ship that was completely built of wrought iron. During the build of this enormous ship, he wanted to decide whether to power it with paddles or a screw propeller; so called because it comprised of a section of an Archimedes screw. He held a 'Tug-of-War' between these two types of propulsion methods, and the screw proved much stronger! So every ship from then was built with one, almost up to the present day. Anyway, school over for today!! If only I didn't talk so much? I would be the first every day!! Thank you both for making me smile again.

I must have been the very first today; I timed it to the exact second!!! My comments have become a little bit repetitive, I think? You already know what I think about pretentious cafés. So I wont be critical of them this time. (Really a spade as a spoon? 🤔) Anyway, I'll try not to be boring again this time 🤞. In the second place, you said the owner was showcasing her book collection - it certainly is splendid! That was truly my kind of place. I don't like the, so called 'libraries', with the leather bound books that are never read. I absolutely loved the piles of books on the staircase and in front of the shelves! That's how my book collection is stored, although I don't have that many! I saw a book about Alexander the Great; I have several books about him. It was next to the book about Ersatz Elevator; I am going to do another quiz - do you know what 'Ersatz' is, and why is relates to elevators? Could you smell the roasting in the third place? It must have been amazing! Nissom would make a great model! Tall and handsome, he would be a success in a magazine campaign!!! Honestly, I am not surprised that the Americano tastes like water - I think that it's supposed to, if you remember how it got it's name!! I must say that every place you went to was beautiful in it's own way, but your perfect presentation of them made them seem even better!! Hello guys! The Bookstore Alley would be like Heaven to me- as long as the books were in English or course! Gamcheon Culture Village does look like Santorini! Although I have been in Greece before, I have never been to Santorini, but it does look like the pictures that I've seen. I suppose that if a place is already culturally valuable or beautiful, then tourists will come to see it and local people get a source of income from it. However, if a place has been made deliberately attractive to tourists, even though it doesn't have much cultural value, then it becomes very attractive to certain tourists - usually generating income for big businesses. Theme Parks for example. I bet Ashley really liked the glass bottomed cable car??????? The coastal café towards the end really impressed me. The picture on the side of that building of that little girl was outstandingly beautiful!!! 🥰 I could just have stared at it for hours! Now you are more like a friend of us! We have never been to Greece. Santorini has been a dream place to visit but we gave up on it because of the number of tourists! It’s always a dilemma…culturally valuable and beautiful places visited by tourists vs. nice places overwhelmed by tourists…anyway it would be great to visit some of the historical places like those in Rome. We had a great time there. By the way Ashley was a bit anxious at first because of the height but she likes the glass-bottomed cable car. You may like it too. We are still in Lisbon. Already I know that would NOT be for me! I really hate shopping, and the more shops there are, the more dislike it! You were very lucky with the weather in Busan, maybe that's why you were both very 'smiley' that day? You both looked like you were having a lot of fun. I hope that your travels in Italy are going well, and you are not having to put up with 1,000's of tourists? It's so lovely to see you both enjoying your young lives! Thank you.

Good afternoon. You are so quick to leave a comment today! Yes, we love Busan so much. Everywhere is sky blue and so beautiful. The food there is unexpectedly good! They are very local and we can’t have them in Seoul. Seafood there is different from sushi or sashimi available in Japan. By the way we don’t know the pink car character either. Perhaps it’s something Korean? We are going to Rome’s airport now. We will be in Lisbon tonight! Hope you enjoy your day too!

Good morning! I would have been the first today, but I had to go to my grand-daughter's Sports Day this morning! She is only 5 years old. Why is it that cafés etc in Asia have French names? Is it to make them somehow more classy? I love bread though, and even in The UK they make nice bread! The café with the garden was beautiful, both inside and outside. I don't know why they had the Hermes boxes? Hermes was a god in Greek mythology - the equivalent of Mercury in Roman mythology. It looks like you both really enjoyed yourselves and I'm happy for you. I hope that your travelling in Italy is going well? Thank you for another lovely video.

Sorry for replying late today. We went to Florence but it is way more touristy than we expected. We would share with you more about it in the coming videos (perhaps a month later). It should be quite fun to attend your granddaughter’s sports day. Is she in Reception class? Are there any parent-child activities or competition? It would be lovely to see little kids running. We hope you had fun there. Yes, French names do make cafes classy in Asia. Another reason behind French names is perhaps the inspiration brought by French cafes and places. We notice that Paris is such a fantasy to Japanese people. Restaurants are decorated with the Eiffel Tower. Good night and have a lovely day ahead.

Good morning Ashley and Nissom. As you said "We are always eating!"; that's true, but you are young people, and young people have a huge capacity for eating because you need more energy, protein etc. When you are older I think you eat much less because your requirements are smaller. Ashley looks tiny and Nissom looks like a big tall man, so you don't have to worry about gaining weight! I like food stalls, but at a local level in UK they are a bit boring - maybe in the centre of London you have a wider variety. Locally we get hamburgers, hot dogs, bacon sandwiches etc which is okay, but boring! French dining and 'Nouvelle Cuisine' doesn't attract me, as we have talked about before, but I would like anything based on cabbage! How nice to see a Royal Enfield motorbike! It brought back memories, I believe that company is owned by an Indian firm now? The UK produces nothing these days - the Trades Union have finished British manufacturing! 😠 You know that I would have spent hours in that bookshop, and maybe years ago, hours in the record shop. I bought many records when I was younger - there was nothing digital in those days! I had a collection of about 500 LP records which took up an enormous amount of space! The 'Sanrio Lovers Club' looked very cute! Poor Ashley with the spicy food! 🥰 I am looking forward to seeing how Busan is. I love these Asian cities- they look s exciting! My comments are long because you put an enormous amount of work into making these videos, so I think it's some sort of reward for you both? Also, I just really enjoy talking to both of you twice a week. Thank you for everything and enjoy your weekend.

Good morning to my two favourite travel correspondents. I never know where you're going to be when you release a new video? Every one of them is a surprise!! Of course I've seen videos from South Korea, but not in this detail. Your first stop in S. Korea served really nice looking dumplings, but as I've said before, awards and stars, don't make a restaurant for me.. I would prefer a smaller place with nice food and, more importantly, a nice atmosphere. I suppose that I had forgotten the capacity for young people to eat? I must have eaten a lot when I was younger too, but us elderly people definitely eat less - I am 66. I suppose that I'm just jealous!!! Likewise, I would never queue up for a restaurant, and in the rain too, I would just go somewhere else! The rib soup looked nice and no, I did not know that actor. I didn't really understand all the decorations in that display and Ashley would never suit having a moustache - even if she was a man!?!?! I can really understand why the clothing was so expensive though; I suppose all that decoration needed to be paid for? I quite liked that show display though. Is there such a thing as being 'too happy'? I understand the Happy Mart, but really Nissom, could you live with those cute mats??🤣 I am just too old to know who Jisoo is? My grand-daughter likes K Pop, is she an idol in that? Likewise, I don't understand fashion either, and don't know why it all has to have French type 'chic' names? Again, maybe I'm just showing you what a 'grumpy' old man I am??? Anyway, I had better finish now. This reply is like one of your dissertations that you submit to your tutors!! Thank you for listening t me and another great video!

Good morning lovely people. I'm nearly first today!!! The first thing that I really must say is that, Kyoto looks to be amazingly beautiful. There must be so many nice looking places to see there? I have never had matcha before, but I don't think that I'll ever get tired of the amazing colour of it, and all the matcha products! Tourists are certainly a big problem in some areas of Kyoto; it must be awful for the locals? Imagine putting up with crowds everywhere while you are going about your daily business! The café that was opened in 1973 has not lost any of the 1970's feeling. It still looks like it is that year inside? I think the Japanese would call it the Showa era? What I imagine doing in Kyoto (as yet another tourist), is going to a Tea Ceremony with a Maiko san. I love watching videos of that; it looks so serene and dignified, as well as simply beautiful. The rivers in Japan are all landscaped so nicely. They don't just cover the banks with concrete like in other countries. Instead they line the banks with stones so that they can prevent erosion and flooding, but yet remain so natural looking. You're quite correct when you said that they must be treasured. I was so surprised to see you looking at buses and pottery again!!! I wasn't really!!! Some of those cups and saucers looked very pretty - I think that you have to give up so much space for them? Good luck with your papers and all your studying. It will be so worthwhile when you're both finished. Have a good evening. Thank you for continuing to produce such lovely videos, you cheer me up a lot.

We have consistent interests and we love collecting things. We will never get tired of cups and bus models. But certainly we will need to make space for them. Have a nice weekend! ❤

Hello you two Superstars!! I'm late yet again. The café near the Art Centre, those modern artworks, were they projected on to the wall? I liked the décor in there; it looked very rustic. The products on display in a French boulangerie always look so delicious. I love croissants absolutely full of butter! I must admit that I have absolutely no desire to go to the USA! The people there are so brash and impolite - it just wouldn't suit the kind of person that I am. The fried egg on top of whatever it was looked good though. Proper baristas are probable quite talented, but these days anyone that works in Starbucks calls themselves one?? Do you know where the name 'Starbuck' came from? If I ever meet Ashley in real life - which I won't, I am going to buy her an egg sandwich! She seems to really like them. I don't know what I would buy for Nissom though, I can't afford one of his expensive watches, maybe a model train or car?? Thank you for always cheering me up and making me happy!

Hello our dearest friend. Yes, the art is projected on to the wall. Glad that you like it. We share the same view with you that there are so many “baristas” nowadays, haha. Good morning. I like the idea of 'flea markets', but it would be too tempting to buy stuff that only becomes clutter again! It all looks like interesting stuff, but as you said, it is probably there to give the previous owner some space, can you afford the space? I don't know anyone that doesn't like Italian food, especially pizza. That lasagne looked amazing. My wife used to make lasagne from scratch, and it was one of my favourites! It takes so long to make it; it's not quick and easy like pizza. Ashley looked very happy indeed with her tiramisu! It's very easy to make a lady happy with desserts!! 🤣 I don't eat them usually. Nissom really likes his watches, doesn't he? I like the sound of less plastic waste; it's one of the things that I feel really passionate about. I used to watch Disney films when I was small but I had to go to the cinema to see them. My children grew up watching them on VUS, and the DVD. Now my grandchildren watch them using 'Space Age Technologies, such as streaming etc'!! I think that Steiff was one of the original Teddy Bear makers in Germany many years ago. Did you know that they were named after Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt at the start of the 20th century? Your Disney souvenirs were lovely. Make sure that you have space for them!! I'm pleased that you had 'happy tummies' after your sushi. It looked really nice, but in London you would pay 5-6 times more money for it!! You were both very nicely dressed, as you always are. There is no doubt in my mind, that Kyoto is a very beautiful place, I could look at it for hours! I think that the Japanese could even make a garbage pile look beautiful!!! The tableware at the end was really lovely, but again, it's a space thing. I see that you have quite a collection already? The children's drawings were adorable! 🥰🥰🥰 I've had many pictures drawn of me with my arms and legs coming out of my head!!! Every one is precious though. Anyway, I have talked too much yet again!! Hello to you! As you can see, I'm very late today. From what I can see, Kyoto is really an incredible place and it's a shame that the tourist are becoming a nuisance there. I know it's not the whole of Kyoto, just the Gion area. I've stayed at a Four Seasons Hotel before, but I really can't remember where it was? They are nice Hotels - the garden was really beautiful! It's a shame, that when you get there, the food doesn't live up to expectations, The scones did look a bit dry. I don't really eat many desserts as I prefer savoury tastes, but I love cream! Good morning/evening to my favourite two Hongkongers! You're correct when you say 618 HKD is expensive - it's about £62!! It was a beautiful restaurant though. The HK souvenir shop looked very interesting and the HK history books looked fascinating. I think I may buy a couple soon? The beef ribs looked awesome, in fact the whole menu for your brunch looked amazing!! The beef looked like a traditional British meal (before beef became too expensive to eat regularly) with the masked potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. It was said that the rich batter of the Yorkshire Pudding was to fill you up because beef was expensive even then. I've never had Red Beans, although I've seen them. It's hard to imagine they are sweet, and not savoury! The market looked very British, especially because of the street name. Fish and seafood isn't a big part of the UK diet, but pizza is! The Italian restaurant looked nice, so more pizza! You made a good choice. You two always dress so well and elegantly, you could dine anywhere dressed like that, It was hard to imagine what your favourite shop would be? Are you interested in trains?
