Very nice and informative but it would be nice to let us know where you bought the part and where we could get it ourselves. I'm new and want to learn. Thank you
This is an excellent video EXCEPT you can NEVER use marine grease anywhere near the impeller itself, as it will break down the material. Inly use silicone based lube in water pump and associated areas. Mercruiser Service Bulletin.
Is the red wire with the inline fuse going to the top of the bottom solenoid? My trim is not working via the control and the solenoids are not clicking. Pump works when I put power directly to the solenoids
I have a 496 mercury inboard do I need to run water threw it with the water muffs before I start it? It was drained before winter and so there is still air in the system
I just boat my second boat after the nightmare my first boat purchase was. And I'm watching this video saying WOW, I actually did all of this before even seeing this video! I leaned I guess! but thank you for this video! It's great confirmation and right to the point!!
We are planning on buying a boat this fall to take advantage of sales. We don’t mind not using it until next year and I’m sure we will have a few days we are able to take it out until then
Oh so it’s not normal for water to be spraying into my engine compartment through a blue piece of plastic with the head twisted off? That’s what I thought. Thanks Mr. Trustworthy used boat salesman.
So I know this isn't related to this video but I'm having my oil pressure gauge isn't working and want to check to make sure my 4.3 mercruiser has oil pressure what should I check
NICE, Ive done mine recently. I used a 12v oil pump from Amazon. Oil comes right up n out. I used a filter wrench with 15 flute for filter worked great also. Lefty loosy or turn wrench towards engine with strong slow turn to loosen.🤙🏽👍🏼✌🏽
So I just did all n of this ibwent to put boatbin neutral and my shifter wouldn't go in reverse it finally did after a couple tuggs but now the handle spins all the way around in a full 360
Your videos are very helpful, thank you! I have my boat in water all year thanks to the climate and regular use. But it's saltwater. What should I do regularly (besides the yearly professional inspections of course) and what should I keep an eye on? I do oil checks before every start and look at the motor. But I don't really know what exactly to look for and what parts need special treatment in between. (Can't really do anything on the drive because it's under water.)
Help. I have the alarm constant and a small click when I turn key. I saw this and figured a simple and cheap thing to try first. Then I go under the hood and this solenoid is not there. Theres three wires taped up maybe by previous owner and loose module with four wires going into it with the brand Zettler on it. Not sure if that is a replacement solenoid?
Chris, I watch all your videos was wondering why my Alpha 1 will not take grease on the swivel shaft and hinge pins? Have you had issues like this? TYIA
It's similar to my 14 foot, 1969 Proline (with title) with an electric start 25hp, 1969 Evinrude outboard. Your trailer looks just like mine. New LED lights and marine wiring, rollers work great and two new tires with a spare. Mine isn't painted though and I like it that way. I used to live on the coast and carpet in a boat was a no-no. So, I removed the carpeted seat tops and replaced them with solid yellow pine, with two coats of spar urethane on tops and bottoms. Here in Texas sitting a metal boat seat in the summer is the same as sitting in a frying pan on high heat. I also added two swivel seat bases and bought two very nice folding seats like yours.
Did you fix the sender or replace it with a new one and you are showing us a new one in the test? Does size matter or as long as it fits can get anything?
