Millwall are proper and it's an insult to have them play in a identikit ground. Don't mess with perfection and stay out of the Lions Den! Rip it down and build the old.
At the den Wolves Pompey ( Waterloo) Huddersfield Leicester Brighton Anyone at this game vs Huddersfield will say the same an horrible atmosphere but wow
@ 3-37...Peter Withe and Des Bremner of Aston Villa ...was this a friendly or other match around 1983/4/5* as neither played each other in cup or league at that time? *going by the Villa shirts worn here.
Me too,I was there on that fateful Monday night...lasted 15 minutes before leaving and headed back to Euston.. most scary ground I've been to...New den we gave a better account of ourselves..pound for pound millwall are right up there, also underrated were Boro at home too...respect from MUFC!👍👹
These boardrooms that run clubs think that if they change the stadium all the hot dog and face paint crew will turn up and sit down like good little children. Not likely in Bermondsey.
Bods can say what they won’t about that gaff but believe me it was 1 of the most intimidating grounds to go. I went in 88-89 96 2006 Everton are 1 of a couple of mobs who ever took it to them at home. Absolute naughty day out the old Den no place for wankers especially away crews
As a Man City fan i only got to visit the old Den on one occasion, but it has always stuck in my memory .... the extremely tight narrow street surroundings were the first thing that hit me after i'd arrived at New Cross station, and approached the stadium, but it really was quite unlike any other ground that i'd ever visited, and i went to a lot of away matches in those days.... we won the game 1-0 with one of the strangest goals that i ever saw, but for some reason that goal, and that daunting football ground have never left my memory.
It's safe to say that the social cleansing that has taken place in football never saw the light of day at The Wall. Good we need proper clubs that working class lads can support.
I'm a Hull fan 45 years and I never ever saw a bigger away following at boothferry park than that day,it was a tough backs to wall away win for Millwall, well deserved what u did that season
@@Isleofskye pleasure my man all the best for the forthcoming season, always had a soft spot for millwall, since that day,did some work in new Cross in the 90s,salt of the earth ppl round there ,take no shit but don't just dish it out either
@@Deano_Longley Xmas 1965,I, really learned about Home advantage as in those days teams played the same opponents on successive days so Hull outplayed Millwall in their 1/0 win on the 27th December and the very next day Millwall, easily, won 3/0 at The Den, which was in the middle of our record-breaking Home unbeaten run of 59 games over 3 divisions and, nearly,3 seasons. Chelsea and Liverpool have both beaten that now. Good Luck M8:)
This was our fortress..come rain wind or snow it always felt like a summers day WHEN WE WON......and an absolute piss ole when we lost....but i.d rather that gaff any day to what we got now🦁🇬🇧
I was at that game supporting Bournemouth and what an atmosphere! Millwall fans were no trouble either. Much better behaved that season than the Leicester lot who caused havoc in the town
