Hey everyone! My name is Amanda. I created this channel under "tie2dye4" with my best friend years ago to share some tie dye tips and tricks. Years have passed - and I've decided to return to the channel to give you guys some new videos, while my bestie is busy saving lives as an ER nurse :)
I hope to bring you not only more tie dye content, but all kinds of DIY videos, beauty tips/tricks, and more. Subscribe and follow along with the journey!
So in another video it was display that you use a little soap and I used the smallest amount and now my daughter and my shirt do not look as good. I thought I commented on another video of yours but perhaps I didn't. The dark blue that's running through a light blue part of her shirt is completely gone and both shirts look like they've been washed for a whole year 😭. I don't know if it's because I use soap. But eventually you'd have to😅. What dye did you use exactly?
So I used the smallest amount of soap in the wash for my shirt and my 7-year-old shirt. She had some darker blue running through the light blue on a part of her shirt and now that's completely gone😭 ruining the tie dye effect in that area.. Both of her shirts look like they've been washed for a full year. Any suggestions on a particular dye one can buy that isn't this bad?
I have this too, and am obsessed with their products. I did a squiggly with my indoor rope, and tomorrow my 100ft outdoor one comes, and I'm going to paste it all over the front of my house! My neighbors already complain that it's like xmas over here all year long! I don't care! I'm legally blind, since birth, and I LOVE LIGHTS!! So heck yeah, get yourself some MORE Govee stuff. I'm wanting their outdoor pathway lights now, and those little neat ones everyone puts on their roofs! OMG! I need more GOVEE, hahaha!
Oh, hell. Now I know for sure the jacket I am about to rinse is going to look like crap. Because this is so much easier than what I did, and your shirts look like how I dreamed this jeans jacket would look. I made a bunch of crazy pony tails and did lowlights in black. I had bleached it first in those same areas. Oh, crap. This jacket is going to have to be burned.
@@AmandaKam it’s not bad. My daughter likes it. It was a dark denim with a yellow kind of wash on it. Bleaching only took out the blue denim, so I used that yellow as it’s own color, and put a yellow orange, a pink, a turquoise, and did gray and black low lights. But this jacket is going to have a lot of patches on it, and probably some painting. I am actually considering tying it back up the way it was and just brushing the top areas visible with a little white fabric paint. I generally just paint jackets the way they are, but my daughter liked this jacket, and it was pretty dark blue. This is my “Here comes the Sun” girl, and she loves rainbow and tie dye. It takes me months to paint a jacket, and my middle daughter is getting 2 in a row… I’m spoiling her because she just had her 5th child, and he is the light in my heart. So she is being rewarded at every turn. If I had a way to send you a pic before I start on it, I would do that. It is not nearly as bad as I expected.
Pretty! I finally decided to try the dyes I bought for my silk duvet i ruined on my favorite towel i also ruined with hydrogen peroxide and it was a dun project! I had to try each color anyway and seeing the colors blend gives me a good idea what colors need to be added to match my bedspread …the darkest dark next to the lightest color looks the best for that pop!
@@AmandaKam So mine came from DIM MAK. Do you mean that I should rinse and wash it by hand, or can the machine do any or all of the wash? Also, thank you for responding after so long!
Great video...and thank youuuuuu SO much for NOT using that annoying, fake, scratchy, tired/bored "voice" that most women seem to have adopted...ugh. Such a ridiculous trend...like valley girls from the 80's but entitled and tired...lol Sorry...thats my rant. I couldn't even watch videos on the frayed hem until i found yours and you sounded normal and intelligent! 😁😎 thank you!!!!
Aw this is such a great compliment thank you!! I love diy and have been hoping to create more videos like it, and this makes me want to!! I’m so over the fake stuff too! Lol. Glad you found it helpful ☺️
