I have a 1940s cake book with similar ingredients. 4 tablestoons of butter, 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 one cup brown sugar, pinch of salt, pinch of cinnamon, juice of an lemon and grated rind, 2 round tablespoons of baking powder, 1.5 cups of flour, preferred add oil to mix, add vanilla essence if acceptable, oil a square pan and line bottom of pan with greased paper. Im baking it tomorrow i hope it takes mice!😊
Has anyone doubled this recipe ? I have a pan 14”x 3.5” that is actually double what is called for, so why make one cake when I have a pan that will double the goodness.
