Welcome to the Mental Health Merienda channel, where you can find snack-sized guides for mental health wellness! We are Dr. Adeline León, licensed clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychology, and Michelle Young, LCSW, licensed clinical social worker. We are women of color and best friends who met in graduate school at the University of Chicago almost 20 years ago.
The name Mental Health Merienda is a reflection of our Hispanic and Filipino backgrounds (the word “merienda” means “snack” in Spanish and Tagalog).
Our aim is to help break down the stigma surrounding mental health discussions and create a community where we can explore topics like anxiety, depression, stress, and relationships. Some lessons need to be learnt by yourself, you need to live it to understand. But yeah they will take advice from other people because for some reason our children hold us so highly they cant see we may have been through similar things. Parenting isnt easy, my oldest will take my advie at 10 but i assume that is going to change.

@@Mental.Health.Meriendathanks for responding. Thing is, the term was coined based on the phenomenon. So if what we are describing has changed why wouldn’t the word? I feel like that’s exactly how we got to the point we need to address misused terms in the first place.

Abuse can be a learned behavior. Some people witness it in their own families growing up, which sends the message to them from a young age that it's ok to do. Others learn it from society- friends, their environment, pop culture- throughout their adult lives. However, just because someone witnesses abuse, DOES NOT mean they will or have to become abusers themselves.
Diddy is a criminal. Probably NEVER abused. His Dad was in organized crime. Whatever!! No excuses. Man up. Face the music & do your time. Since he likes drugging others, doing freak offs & recording it all he’ll LOVE prison.
That’s the Illuminated mentally. If you do one good deed it excuses all the bad things you’ve done. That’s why you see all these charities and them always publicizing everything they do something “good” or “ charitable.” But things they work like that and once the masses start waking up we will overthrow them. I felt like he knew he couldn’t be charged with the Cassie situation but he needs to make it seem like he is no longer a threat to others so if they find anything else out he may still have some semblance of a chance to wiggle out of it.
She's correct. His statement was all about saving his image..and signaling that he was so messed up in the past, but he has repented and he is not a bad person anymore. If not for the reaction to his public assault video, he wouldn't say this.
Hes very correct in women being lied to most in modern times. We simply live in a time where women have every choice, even to abort unborn, and are rewarded/praised for it, even if its due to a baby seen as an inconvenience due to the mothers irresponsibility. The truth is, there are grey areas where women who have careers are happy. However, the happiest women you meet are the ones who are married with children and a complete family. Its very apparent in todays scoeity.
Mental Health experts are the worst. They are so woke and FoS. This guy is giving a speech in a very conservative Catholic School where he is an alumni. Get over your crap because you’re one of the causes of the problem.
If you’re a guy here imagine your daughter who just worked her ass off to get into a good school and graduated with good grades and is exited about whatever they’re doing, medicine, business, whatever! And you take her to her college graduation and this dude tells her that’s she or other girls are probably more exited for marriage! What the fuck, would you let a women tell your sons there ACTUALLY, REALLY, more exited to x,y,x manly thing then what they’ve just spend so much time energy and money doing??
“I would venture to guess most of you are most excited about your marriage” you graduate at 21-22, probably still dating… imagine being a women excited about your career in your 20’s, working 4 plus years and debt for a degree and this guy just says I bet your more excited for your marriage then your scientific, artistic or business contribution. Sure for some women but lots of men are also more excited about marriage and kids! Lucky I’m a man so people don’t say strange out of place stuff to me at my graduation

And that is the reason why a lot of women need to fulfill their greatest rolls in life which is a mother and a wife but either one can go first cuz they are highly respected in this world versus you being a versus you being a working woman or boss babe independent woman bull crap

Basically what I am hearing is that the women absolutely do not want to be a wife and have children of their own and would rather be independent while living a miserable life full of regret when they get older. If you’re telling me those delusional women are not going to bring kids just like them in this world then I am all for it.
