Honestly, V4 mode’s cons outweigh the pros, we deleted ours and the gas mileage was more or less about what we expected, on average we go 70-80 on our highways and we manage to get 400 miles on average per tank of gas which with cylinder deactivation, we got around 420 miles per tank on average, i dont really think its worth its weight in how much oil it consumes. And it’s stupid because if you want V4 mode to really work, you have to be on throttle yourself without cruise control and more or less down hill. Dont bother trying to get this to kick in, tow/haul mode/manual mode usually keeps it in V8 mode
This engine suffered no oil leaks, coolant leaks, timing chain stretch, timing chain tensioner failure, waterpump failure, or turbo failure?? How is it that the engines on the street in every day trucks aren't holding up as well?
