Backpacking, hiking, ultralight, packrafting, camping, etc. 4 like-minded coworkers gather on a boring, Winter's day, at work in NJ, to complain about the cold. On a whim, a question’s posed, a decision’s made, & an adventure begins. With limited experience, & no idea where to begin, a plan to visit Yellowstone turns into much, much more: a pact between us to backpack thru the backcountry of at least 2 different National Parks each year. It’s led us on a deep dive discovery into trip logistics, gear, route planning, survival skills, ultralight, LNT principles, navigation of the NPS permit lottery system, & countless important skill-sets, none of which we possessed at the time. Now, after 10+ successful trips, 3 new members & counting, over 400 backcountry miles logged, & some learning on the fly, we are DEEP in it, & loving it! Join us as we navigate our adventures, & share in the thrilling beauty waiting for us along the way. Enjoy - Buldo, Steve, Connor, Drew, Austin, Evan, & Will

NOW I'M GONNA HAVE TO GO BACK TO GLACIER NP.....BY FAR ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES I'VE EVER SEEN. GREAT VIDEO!
@noBearAdventures
@noBearAdventures Год назад
So we have a group of 7 now, but we started with 4 back in 2019. We were sitting at work one dreary winter day in February, in New Jersey, and a video of Yellowstone came up on one of our monitors. We said “hey, let’s go to Yellowstone”. Long story short, Yellowstone turned into Glacier and Yellowstone… And here we are four years later, with almost doesn’t national parks under our belts…. And a ton of experience and gear. The funny part of the story, though, is that our plan was to go to a different national park every year. It took us all of two years to realize we had to go back to Glacier. The place is literally heaven. And I’m sure it’s going to take us less than two years for us to wanna go back. The most beautiful place I’ve ever seen.

Of course. This was in July, but if you want an idea of what it’s like in August check out the following video and start at the 15:02 mark (our second trip to Glacier was in mid August). However, I would 100% say with confidence that the weather in Glacier is WILD! On the Grinnell Glacier Trail we got full sunshine and 85 degrees, snow, hail, driving rain, thunder and lightning, and bluebird sunshine again all within an 8 hour hike. Lol. One day the weather report said 1% chance of rain. I couldn’t believe a weather person would even write that with a straight face at the time. Guess what? walk the shoreline around the lake.... my parents ashes are at the far end of the lake - looking out at heaven's peak. every mother's day and father's day i would be on the trail before sunrise and at the far end of the lake ALONE to spend time with their 'essence'.... then even that got too crowded. i'll miss my visits to talk with them. but the rude, arrogant, loud, privileged, know-it-all idiots who've ruined ANY park experience with their inconsiderate ways and overbearing snobbishness were too much......God i hate those assholes. i really hate what Glacier has become after 35+ years of solitude and communal times. it's become a shithole of 'entitled' pricks..........
@jerrystraka7856
@jerrystraka7856 2 года назад
apparently you're a flatlander.... the 'exposed' 100 yards of Highline trail above the road is safe as can be. it's as wide as a sidewalk and has 'hose' and chain for those needing to grasp on. as a person who has summitted every peak around Logan Pass (Clements, Reynolds-14 times, Oberlin-over 25 times, Bearhat-3 times, Cannon-twice, Heavy Runner, Piegan-10 times, Pollock 12 times, Bishop's Cap-twice, Siyeh, Mahtapi, and Gould) exposure is just part of the game in the high country. the trail above the road wouldn't even make the classification index of 2-5. It's a one. It's nothing. It's like standing on a bridge and looking down. also...why didn't you go down to Hidden Lake? it's only another mile and a half. cross the outlet creek and walk around Bearhat mountain (about a mile and half and 800-1000 vertical) to the high ridgeline behind and you can look down at avalanche lake and into floral park, beneath sperry glacier. I've hiked into Hidden about 70 times, half of them alone, and fished for hours undisturbed. up to 20 inch yellowstone cutthroat trout (stocked by the park a century ago). i've seen grizzly and wolverine on many an occasion. found the wolverine den at the base of Bearhat and visited it for 5 years, until the wolverines moved on. the more you experience exposure (meaning heights near edges), the more you become used to it. start by taking the 'down trail' up to Oberlin and walk the top of it. it's easy, accessible, and has great places to safely experience exposure. it's about 1500 vertical and a mile or so hike up the scree to the top. i've seen 5 year old kids up there and 62 year old retirees (me being one). 35 years of hiking, climbing, biking, back country camping, high mountain lake fishing and cross country skiing in Glacier is forever etched in my mind. i have thousands of picture. But the increase in tourists and rapid growth of the Flathead valley has changed the experience forever. it will never be the same. in my opinion, it has been ruined. so i finally moved away to get away from the rude. arrogant, privileged trash that dominates the park now. sad. very sad. it used to be friendly. it used to be a place to escape those kind of people....now - they're everywhere. assholes everywhere Loving the Andes in my retirement. the people in ecuador are the kindest in the world..... i'm never returning to 'gunland' and trump idiotville....never
