Thank you for this video. I lost my husband 3 weeks ago. We rode on his Harley Ultra Classic conversion trike. He had been patiently teaching me to drive it as we knew his biking days were about to end due to his heart condition. He left me his treasured bike and I have decided it's just too big for a little girl like me. So, I have had my eye on a Freewheeler. Will be taking a test drive on a 2015 model at a HD dealer next week. This video helped me prepare for my test drive. So sorry you lost your dear friend. I know how it feels.
Katie, my heart broke as I read your comment. I’m still in tears, sitting here typing this. I’m grieved for your recent loss. If a hug could be transferred via message, please consider this a hug. 🤗 I lost my beloved father 3 years ago this week, and I still mourn the loss of my friend Mike. But losing my wife, the love of my life, would be unimaginable. I can’t come close to what you’re going through. I’m happy our humble video was encouraging to you. Yes, keep riding, as your beloved husband would be proud. Remember him as you ride, with the breezes in your face. Please know our prayers are with you in this time of grief. Keep in touch- Rob@roaddirt.tv
Curious about the engine at 85 miles an hour...that like 135 or so km...is it really pretty decent ? can it handle that for awhile ?? how I have to think it was working pretty hard ?
I was stunned and impressed with the bike’s capabilities above 75 mph. At 85, I still had power and rpm left. I think I hit like 92-93 at a point or two, and it felt like it had a little more. At 80-85, the engine was roaring, but it felt like it could sustain it. I would have never attempted that with the 411. I’m telling ya, this new Sherpa 450 engine is quite extraordinary.
Was ready to go get a DR 650 but when I learned about the Himalayan 450 I changed gears. Love the DR and the KLR but the Himalayan just suits my need better.
The Himalayan wasn't even on my radar but I stumbled on it and was very impressed with what I was seeing. I've got one on order from my local dealership and should have it just in time for winter storage 😂.
This video was so helpful. I followed your vid and was able to fix the ignition. One tip, with Dremel and their skinny sanding disc I was able to put a grove in the bolt and unscrew it with a flat head screwdriver. Also, my contacts had a little melting on the contact. I was able to carefully free the contact with the use of an exacto knife. It works perfectly now. Just adding these couple things I encountered in case someone else runs into. Thanks a lot for this great video. Right now the ignition is going for $300 online. Great savings.
Thank you for sharing Mike's story and his trike. I truly believe is now in heaven riding 2 wheels again. My heart and prayers are with mike, his family and you. Amen from U.K.
Hey there, when I tested the suit I actually found the quality to be a little better with some of the fine points they added to the suit. It also felt less bulky.
@@roaddirttv I simply pointed out her review on this updated model some 10 months before your review. Yours is just as appreciated and valued. No abrasiveness implied nor expected.
Seat height would be a reason as well as road mannerisms of the 450 over the 300. Really depends on what you are using the bike for. Either one will do the job but there will always be trade offs.
If you travel to central asian countries, you are very likely to have to use 80 octane petrol which may well also be very dirty so you will need good fuel filters in the top of your tank to clean as much muck out as possible
As honest a review as you will ever get. I know a few BMW 1250 GS riders in the pacific northwest that ride almost all road, and use these to commute to work on in all but the worst conditions, snow being a no go. I would call them an aggressive tread for a 90/10 tire, but not up to a 80/20 like a Anakee Adventure. If they have a lot of RoadSmart 4 stickem in the turns with that technology, I'd say the only question is how many miles do you get out of a set?
Great review! I just picked up a 2022 Nightster with only 610 miles on it from my HD dealer. It was listed as 12K, but they heavily discounted it, and when I traded my 2015 Street 500 towards it, I got it for $5700. I felt it was way too good a deal to pass up!
Stop fooling people trying to show that it is from USA. How would Irish people to go for a royal Enfield 350 halcyon. 100 times better than these junk Chinese engined motorcycle
Brother, thanks for the video. One question: where can I get a battery for the Indian Super 73? I live outside the USA and the official websites don't give me an answer. Thanks!
The only answer is through a local Indian dealership in your area, or a Super 73 dealership. Maybe order one off their respective websites? That's all we know to advise you.
Philippines is the same way. Motorcycles are used as utility vehicles and not so much as luxury items. Usually 150cc or below. Scooters are probably more common than motorcycles.
@@charlenestevens1860 my parents lived down toward the dam, off 16 in the Long Shoals area, for about 34 years. Mom moved back to Fayette County after Dad passed in 2021. Beautiful riding all over out there.
@@roaddirttv born and raised in SOCAL, there's only my nephew and I remaining here. Everyone else is in GA! Well, one niece is in Ithaca, but that place might as well be CA. I am a proud owner of a blue '78 kz650. Just detailed it and I am the original owner! I'm starting to get too scared to leave it in a parking lot while I run an errand. They are rare now. I get compliments at red lights. Well, not ME, the bike does. I'm 70. Lol
@@charlenestevens1860Wow! Happy to hear you’re still riding, that you ride a blue ‘78 KZ, and YOU’RE THE ORIGINAL OWNER! That is all so awesome. Thanks for sharing, and keep on riding!
I am very curious about this Scram. I had a Bullet 500 some 25 years ago in Nepal; it was crap, (I actually broke my heel starting it once) but I loved its character. Thank you for your video!
Great little bike for the price. Aftermarket parts are reasonable in scope and price. My 2023 does best doing rural touring on mixed surfaces here in north Australia.
