Hoyoverse games' target audience is people who like games, but don't play them. You can feel like you're playing a game with little to no effort. It's brainless enjoyment. I'm not trying to shame anyone for that. I played HSR daily for a year and I play ZZZ on the side. But Hoyo games is frustrating in that your brain gets bored eventually because you reach periods of realization that you're not doing much. It lacks the level of engagement and immersion you'd normally get from a video game because it's too easy. I just hope there are more games for people to actually play like WuWa or Tribe Nine, instead of mindlesss idle games and the brainless gameplay model that Hoyo relies on.
Why didn't you showed these 2 issues inside the video? Even if i agree with what you said i don't remember the details you are talking about. Also, 2 things are not enough to make this clickbait title.
i think even at vera mirroria theres still no people back then when i play this you will see people flying walking running around on vera and inside the map doing puzzles to get black nucs gold nucs red nucs and other stuffs some are AFK on safezone showing off their skins good ol days i miss my crewmates i made lots of friends but now they are all gone we all scattered after a year or 2 of playing this online crewmates went from hundreds to 20s real fast until you can only see them on discords and just waiting for someone to schedule a party for a raid. so sad
I have no opinion on the ZZZ vs WuWa debate cause I've never played WuWa, but I will say that Hoyo games in the same boat as ZZZ usually don't depend on meta, but skill; the meta just determines the floor needed. The "meta" in Star Rail just seems like you're focusing too much on banner units rather than either units you have/units you enjoy using. You can reliably clear 85% of all content in the game with some shitpost ass build and half built characters, completely ignoring the meta. The last 15% STILL doesn't even require the meta, but an understanding of the mechanics because multiple characters can fill that niche. "Oh this Memory of Chaos favors follow up attackers?" Pull out Herta, Ratio (he was free at one point, if you don't have him RIP), Himeko, March or any others you may have. Break? Easiest team build ever because they give you one of the best Break support units in the game for free in the form of the Trailblazer. Apply Sushang, Luka, Guinafen, Sampo, or even the new March unit. DoT? Sampo, Guinafen, Pela, etc. Star Rail's "meta" is more a recommendation on the types of units to bring for more challenging combat and most of the teams I mentioned above are made with 4 star units who all can reliably clear combat still in the current patch.
I want you to keep in mind that some of the units you mentioned require insane amounts of investments to be on the level of a meta unit with low investment
@@agr_aldt That's the thing- you don't need them to be meta level in order to be good. Your eyes are too locked on "meta" when that's not necessary to make the unit able to complete content. At most, it requires you to understand that unit's mechanics more in depth than usual to get the most out of them and you start needing to care about substats on relics. "Meta" units are your hammers that can have a relatively low skill floor. Your 4 stars are like knives, good at very precise things. It's kinda why I like the fact we haven't had so many 4 stars- you have plenty of opportunities to get them to high Eidolon counts which just makes them better and easier to use. And all of this assumes you just manage not to pull a single five star. Even if you got like.... eh, every other 5 star or every third 5 star, you would still have a very solid mix of 4/5 star units to be able to tackle and complete everything in the game.
If you already thinking about the META in gacha games you lose, whether you started being competitive, and getting the feeling that you "MUST" clear the hardest content available, you're walking into a minefield. Its a singleplayer game, no one is forcing you to clear the hardest content. Its a gacha game and most gacha games is a progression simulator. The more time you invest in it, the more likely you have easier time with the difficult content. Or you choose the other way around which is burning your money away. You can completely ignore the latter, you can still experience most of the game for free. Gacha games aren't suppose to be your main game, that's why stamina and daily quest exist- to limit your progression. If that didn't exist then everyone would be at overgeared state and that so-called challenging content would be non-existent. Welcome to gacha games where lies most of the difficulty in your progression. Also why you chose to log-in everyday. Gacha games are basically "chances" THE game. You get your character, weapons, gear by chances which turns off a lot of people and a lot people also likes it because of the dopamine it gives by winning those chances. It can be convoluted and tiring sometimes if the game runs by a lot of chances. That's why I like NIKKE and Reverse 1999, you just have to get the characters alone and the rest are progression matters. The only that matters in gacha games is how you enjoy them or if you still enjoy them. If not then I highly advice you quit playing. Games are supposedly to be fun and your go-to escapism.
Exactly. The high end content is optional and in some cases, there are alternatives to the high end content for folk who can't complete it but want similar rewards. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the world you're immersed in.
a woman in almost all cases would never be a general capable of fighting on the front lines…………….You want the best fighter(s)? Pick a dude. Stronger, Faster, better Reaction Time, better Hand to Eye Coordination, better Heat Regulation, more Physically Durable, more Aggressive, etc…. Even if she was a general, she could dress however she wants because it’s highly unlikely to put her in harms way. This far in the future, the techonology is so advanced wearing armor is pointless because you are just going to get shot in whatever vulnerable area by some automated turret before the electricity has a chance to reach your brain to process there might be danger. But we are going to hyper focus in on she has shorts or a skirt? That’s their issue? Why can’t we go the other direction? Why can’t she be such a baddy she can look hot and slay (literally)????? I thought women could be better than men?
As long as you are having fun, that's the most important! I don't have a problem with discussing which game you enjoy more, or how different games handle certain aspects, but... Yeah, the whole tribalistic shit-talking each other like it was a competetion is really tiring. Right now, the gacha games I'm enjoying the most are WuWa and Sword of Convallaria. Regarding SoC... I don't know how much of it is recency bias, but I find it a bit crazy that it comes attached to a completely free 100 hours+ single player campaign (at least according to the devs) that plays more like a mix between Final Fantasy Tactics and Radiant Historia than a traditional gacha. (With branching paths in which you align with different factions depending on your choices, and new characters mostly obtained throught story progression) Even the standard "gacha" mode feels a bit refreshing, since all characters get added to the standard banner after their debut, dupes and legendary weapons are farmable as f2p, and the gear system is very streamlined. Plus, both the story and combat are pretty good.
Main problem is that if I was looking for something challenging in the first place, I wouldn’t look at gacha games in general It’s not like I don’t like challenge, I absolutely do, just saying that the main reason for which I’m interested in a gacha game will never be the challenge Challenging game = / = challenging gacha game
Ikr , all these games bottle down to is learning the underlying systems and mechanics and allocating stats accordingly. The endgame is built around clearing stuff as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I quitted star rail early cause the gameplay seems to reliant on meta and continuing story is a bit hard for me cause I kinda wanted to try playing without pulling so my character pools is very small, also at that time I was getting burnt out with genshin artifact grind that I don't have the mood to do star rail artifact I'm more fond hack'n slash gameplay like Honkai Impact 3rd and they lets us trial units in main story Wuwa have similar style to PGR (Its developer previous game) and HI3rd which I really like but seeing they are trying to do open-world game its no suprised people would say its Genshin-copy
I've been playing gacha games since it saves me money & keeps me away from Apex Legends. F2P Snowbreak, Wuthering Waves, Honkai Starrail, & Blue archive. Easily spent $500 & 2K Hours on Apex Legends.
You can change the controls witha shortcut or in options Somebody said the start is slow ? disagree the story is pretty staright forwad, i think people are just comparing it to when big bosses and things go down in the story. People comapring the start to late game when they are already attached and plotlines reach their peak to start is soo stupid, The start is not bad and has important good character moments and set up
My boy was speaking facts this entire video especially hsr does most of the units required for those units are mostly five stars don't get me started on follow-up comps three of them were five stars one them is and the rest you have to get lucky on their Banner or you whale in the game and you get them 100% guaranteed but you have to spend tons of money I hate the fact that they didn't change anything about the standard Banner this is why I hate their gacha system because there are some gacha system that are better than theirs they need to give us two four stars instead of one I'm sick and tired just getting one four star because it's just starting to get annoying it feels like it's meant for whales or people that play the game every day do I have to constantly grind in game currency just to get a five star I have to constantly save up for one five star as f2p every time I lose a 50/50 I have to wait another Banner just to get lucky it's getting repetitive at this point😡
idk if you've tried it but if you press Y you can switch to another mode where you can control the mouse the camera without using the cursor, left click to attack and right click to dodge just like genshin, hope this helps, cool video btw, you actually read the story (nevermind you figured it out already lol)
Good start, but i recommend reviewing some beginner guides to know which constructs are the most effective to go for for the competitive modes later, like warzone and paincage, and the boss fights later on can become pure cinema...one of PGR's greatest strengths imo. Building teams is a slow burn in this game but it's definitely one of my all time favourites
