Some of what Pau said before performing Breathe for the first and only time Live at a concert. This next song. I had said I was never going to play it live because it's a very personal song. But seeing them all here gathered... It's amazing to think there are 8000 people here right now, that came to see us. And honestly I'm really sick my voice is not super good. But... I want to sing you this song. Lyrics The water's getting way too cold I thought it'd learn to keep me warm But it's reaching down my throat And it's freezing all my bones still I try to reach over the endless waves Can't call for help, so I'll just call my name But not even I can hear I'll just disappear without a trace Is it so wrong, wrong to want to be alright? Perfect in pain It's the same all the time I try my very best to stay afloat But there's something down there that just wants me close And I beg myself to breathe But there's nothing within reach now Is it so wrong, wrong to want to be alright?! Perfect in vain It's the same all the time! Oh-oh-oh Oh-oh-oh
It feels like you really missed out on the context of this song by not reading what she said before starting the song. Unlike Black Holes where she had no personal experience of the song’s subject (addiction) this one is extremely personal to her (and she’s never given a proper explanation of why). It’s the only time she’s performed it live and it was a decision on the night to actually sing it for the fans who love the band. As you saw, it affected her deeply. Just after she started, when the crowd started to sing, she asked that they let her sing because she had to do it. Whether she felt it would be cathartic to actually perform it or not, Dany said later that Pau probably wouldn’t be doing it again.
The reason Pau gets so emotional in this song is because she wrote it when a friend of hers died. She wrote it for herself, to express what she was feeling at the time. It was never meant to be included in an album. I was included as a bonus track in the Error album, but she said under the condition that she would never be asked to play it live. She bled in front of the mic for the world to see that night as a thank you to their fans for the band´s success. I hope people can appreciate that.
Basically to sum up, she said this song is very personal and that she would never sing it live but seeing 8000 people there to support her and her sisters she wanted to sing it and that she was sick and not feeling well
Paulina is the smallest in stature, but the leader in talent - she's the principal songwriter, an award winning rock drummer and she even directed the Que Mas Quieres music video - PAUerful stuff! 🎵🥁🎤🎬 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1lfb-280MhU.htmlsi=Z6HlpUt7Ip6bAfYG
I love how boldly Bloodywood puts it out there. I love that they are saying I'd prefer to change behaviors with my words, but if you can't be reasoned with, change will just have to come by way of force. Generally, I am a pacifist. But, let's face it, some people only speak the language of violence... sadly.
The response to this song is very different based on the person. For most people, the ending is the best part of the song to them. But I am like you. I much preferred the previous parts. And though I have come to appreciate the ending part more over time, it did wear on me in the same ways you described. Thanks for giving your honest opinion!
Judgemental assholes everywhere! Just ignore them, thanks for checking out Ghost of Perdition :) Hope you'll enjoy the Opeth journey, they've got different sounds but all very proggy :)
Oh and I totally get you on the "I liked a good 8 minutes of this 10 minute song" ... they have like songs with 4 minute outtros which the prog elites really like and I feel ready to take a nap :D
Yes imagine writing this amazing song about addiction at 12 or 13 years old and now 9 years later having 8000 fans in your home country singing it back in English even though their main language is Spanish! Insanely badass!
I adore how, out of the blue, the song goes all Broadway Musical on you, and it suddenly becomes a Disney Princess "I Want" song, and you're caught with your pants down, with no way how to react to it.
Undertale has some amazing songs in store for you. Toby Fox the composer I CONFIDENTLY sit him right next to Daisuke Ishiwatari when it comes to the way they create music and found a way to make their "Sound" VERY unique and distinguished in the vast landscape that is both Videogames music and music in general. Sorry 😅 long comment. Music is one of the few things I'm passionate about in my mundane 9 to 5 life. And both Daisuke Ishiwatari and Toby Fox have touched me deeply with no words, just sound ❤ Love what you do. Keep it up!
You fuckin nailed it on the chorus giving a hopeful tone. Even though the theme is technically shared across a few characters in the arcade mode, its mostly meant for the character Nagoriyuki, who at the point in the arcade stories was just freed from being an unwilling servant of Happy Chaos for god knows how long
This one gives me some serious Slayer vibes with the beginning riff and the verse riff. Also the punchy delivery of the singing during those parts reminds me of Tom Araya's style a lot. It's a real thrasher!! 🤘🏻
hellyea i like how in the song, the lyrics he's talking right to the listener. "Who would want to stop this?" "which direction {in musical style} should we go?" before switching it up, "it's {the music} never the same tone, who wants to stop this?", etc. Fun, 4th wall breaky, in line with the character.
Drift in my opinion does the most out of the songs in Strive. I'm sure some people might not care for it's variety but I'd say most Guilty Gear fans really appreciate the ADHD nonsense going on.
Agree 100%. Yes, they are All great and I Love The Warning but, Paulina has this "X-Factor" that I Love MORE... This song affects me deeply... AND New Subscriber to fellow PauFan !!! ⚡Viva Paulina⚡ NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA/PauFan 🤘😎🤘.
You’d have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by this performance, flu bug she was suffering from added a little vocal fry in the upper register for even more impact. Absolutely brilliant 👌
That is fair but it also leaves channels like mine open to copyright strikes easier. Most of you guys who come to view the reactions have normally seen the actual song or performance anyway.
@@BraindeadBreakdown That's too bad ... I watch on TV, and for my liking, your video is just too small being way down in the corner. Hopefully you can make it a little bit bigger (or put it on the top part of the screen) !
I'm not a professional lip reader but know my language from birth very well (Spanish) and at that moment she was breathless in awe while 8000 fans were singing along in the beginning I could easily read her telling herself out loud silently no llores, no llores, no llores (don't cry ×3) right before her gorgeous smile. At that point I was done and she broke me in the most proudly way. Awesome reaction and greetings from Guadalajara Mexico!
