SPOOKY TIME IS BACK ESAFJ;UOIGERSAFDDJ;UOIERAFOIEWFSEwfn Edit: This is insanely good, the spooks are there while also having a pleasant and unique flow
This is so lovely! Excellent work, looking forward to the rest of the album or whatever comes next! (I don't know music things, I know singles exist xD)
Absolutely incredible work without even considering how young you still are!! Only has me that much more excited for how awesome future endeavors will be🤍
Excellent work, very evocative. I was expecting modern ambient jungle/DnB based on the whole vibe, but this is so much better and more personal. I adore that first track, just such beautiful broken textures. I'm really curious what your process was for making these tracks, was it all in a DAW? I'll be returning to this one again, you should be really proud!
Thank you so much for the kind words! And yes, everything was made in a DAW! Personally I use FL Studio. For this album, my process for creating the broken textures mainly involved recontextualizing and chopping samples; running them through multiple chains of distortion, retiming effects, and tape emulation; and then chopping up the bounced samples again, often adding further tape emulation and effects that change throughout the song. I really enjoyed combining these types of distorted sounds with mellow, ambient sounds to create a sense of unease. As the album progresses, I would reuse and further distort sounds, even running whole tracks from earlier in the album through certain effect chains to simulate memory degradation. I've thought about making videos deconstructing some of my songs and explaining how I create the sounds I use, and your comments have definitely inspired me to do so!
I'm so glad to hear it! I'm always interested in hearing what you think and which songs are your favorites. I'd say quite a few of the songs I made after this album follow a similar(ish) style to that song but with a more ambient feel. I tried organizing my recent music the other day and have 30+ finished songs since the most recently made track from this album so I have some catching up to do with releases, haha
Absolutely haunting, if I was to imagine what the music equivalent of dementia is this has to be it - especially in the later half as the voices fade from being sensical and understandable to the point of lost brain noise - I don't know if that's what you meant to convey, but it feels right for the name and how the track evolves.
That's exactly what I was going for, and I love that you picked up on it! I've recently been so inspired by Everywhere at the End of Time by the Caretaker, which is a haunting 6 hour album simulating dementia. I've been obsessed with creating uneasy sound design for the past 6 months or so and still can't get enough of the feeling it provokes.
