This is most certainly not 1977. Matlock left the band in February 1977. I doubt that Steve Jones would walk the streets wearing short sleeves at that time of year, the leafs on the trees are green and the sun is shining bright.
What is new nowadays? OK, not me, obviously, and to me this will never get old, but is there anything around now in this league that I'm missing out on? If you think so, please let me know below. Thanks. I loved this, so happy to have found it.
This is fabulous. The Kurious Oranj show at Sadler's Wells was a life-changing experience for me. The dancing here is as fresh as the day it was done... danced. As is the IAKO album, a new copy of which I bought just the other day. (In fact, a brief interlude is required for Wrong Place Right Time.) Thank you for sharing this.
Had friends from RCA mid 80s- Holly, Kerith, Angus. Wonderfully creatives. Think I recognise Kerith here. I stayed on the fringes, never understood, but loved their art. Maybe it was my heterosexual working class attitude?
This is going to be my funeral song.....miss Joe and the gang and the energy they brough in the late 70's and 80's in my teen years. Fucking awesome anthem.
Such a fantastic snapshot of a specific slice of mid 80s London. A bunch of unconventional dancers in an artform bound by it's traditions and conservative rules....aside of that also just a bunch of young people living in the capital going out, partying, drug taking and listening to some very hip music - to be a Fall fan back then did not guarantee you lots of friends....M Clarke showing the interviewer his copy of Slates......priceless. And Ellen and Gaby are very cool and attractive. Would have been a fun group to hang with, no doubt......
I keep coming back. Forget Paxil or Prozac, the depressed just need to pull up this video and watch it with the sound muted. 0:09 The f'ck'ng faces Johnny rotten makes when he sings are singular in their "What in TF is that guy's problem,"…ness(?).😂😅😆😄😙😀…😚😄😆😂🤣😭
Good old Bert, i can remember as a young boy listening to Bert on the radio, i think it was "workers playtime" if there is anybody still alive who remembers it, i think it must have been in the early 50s ?.... ( i am 78 now). God bless him.
Thank you for uploading this. I remember watching this with my parents on pbs. I was a huge Fall fan and stumbled upon them watching Mark and Brix reading aloud, recognizing them immediately and thinking how weird to see my parents watching the Fall and Michael Clark & co with their backsides hanging out. This was in ‘86. Around that time, the program was in rotation on pbs in the NYC area.
