I, Nolan, welcome you to my channel, The Disney Scrapbook.
The Disney Scrapbook takes you on a journey that explores the past decades of Disney history. Here I will review and discuss films, theme park attractions, television shows, books and phonograph records produced by the Walt Disney Company half a century ago.
My passion is to study and analyze Disney history. I am an aspiring Disney historian and D23 gold member.

Thank you. Until I watched this film again to work on the review, I had forgotten how funny it was. James Garner has some incredibly witty lines that are very well timed.
Wonderful review!! I very much enjoy Chief Dan George’s performance here, although his acting in Smith! is superior. Thanks for the explanation of the missing 7 minutes! I know that requires a significant amount of time and research! Overall, well done and this is a movie all Disney fans should know!
Thank you for taking the time to watch these videos, the hunt for discrepancies in a film is always interesting. Rumor has it that Chief Dan George didn’t really act, but portrayed himself. Clint Eastwood said of Chief Dan George, ‘He never had any formal acting training, but what a storyteller! I’d just say the lines with him several times, and then start the camera without him knowing it! He’d get his dialogue 90% right, and the rest would be improvised and sometimes it’d be great.’ Whatever his process, he shines in “The Bears and I”.
Thank you for taking the time to watch the videos on “Bedknobs and Broomsticks. The Deja View blog by Andreas Deja has stills of various storyboard sketches from this scene. Other wise, it would be the Disney archives.
It’s one of Disney’s little known films from the 1970”s, probably not to everybody’s taste. However, I enjoyed the amazing scenic shots, cute bear cubs and Chief Dan’s George’s performance a lot. I really encourage you to watch the 90-minute version of the film if you can.
Thanks for your cool review of "Scandalous John", a title that to me sounds like "Calamity Jane". Couple of anecdotes: Brian Keith, who starred in Sam Peckinpah's first long feature movie, was the son of another fine actor; Robert Keith. Alfonso Arau would go on to direct the very successful erotic-gastronomic "Like Water for Chocolate".
Awesome! I loved watching Herbie back in the day! This video is great. You've got impressive video skills - I am impressed by your technique in sliding the dvd or vhs covers across the screen to present the lineups of the series or what the actor starred in, etc. This is great content, I can't wait to see part 2; I'll catch some of the Herbie movies in the mean time. 😊
Hi Nolan! I’m an English teacher in Japan and I love Disney etc. I’m currently making a video about fairytales and fantasy. I love your video and your channel and… Is that your collection in the background? It’s really fantastic. Keep up the good work man. Subscribed!❤
Thank you for subscribing. I am glad that you find my content both enjoyable and informative. My collection is mostly books and paper ephemera. Good luck with the video, I will be sure to check it out.
@@TheDisneyScrapbook I collect vinyl and the history of the records is what I love best. The labels, the artists, and the content. Keep up the good work.
I really enjoy the work that Burl Ives did for Disney. I talk about his songs on Side B of this LP in part3. (coming soon). Marc Davis’ artwork is always incredible.
While not a great movie if judged by the masses, Superdad has heart, which can be a hard sell, but for that reason it holds a special place among 1970's Disney comedies.
@@TheDisneyScrapbook A combination of the Disney label and Kurt Russel's fan base. There is a reason Disney kept in on the shelf for a long time, they knew it was a stinker!
What has Kurt Russell done lately? Always a solid actor. Forgot how many Disney movies he has done. Liked how you tied all of the actors together and how their careers overlapped. Thank you for putting all your research into a concise and thorough presentation.
You are welcome, it is a film with a fascinating history and was fun to do. Part 3 will be out next week on the music, merchandising and advertising campaign, if you are interested.
The love story within this film is exciting to follow. I love the Aristocats and enjoy the dancing scene between Duchess and Tom O’Mallley, so it’s great to see it repeated between Robin and Maid Marian in “The Phony King of England”.
