That walk-off HR by Burke in 2005 was the first postseason heartbreak I had as a Braves fan. I started watching some games in '03 and went to my first game at Turner Field in '04, but 2005 was my first season trying to watch most of the games. Watching that 2021 run to the World Series was magical as someone who was only 2 in 1995.
If the LCS had gone differently, World Series history would look like this: 2021: Red Sox v. Dodgers 2020: Rays v. Braves 2019: Yankees v. Cardinals 2018: Astros v. Brewers 2017: Yankees v. Cubs 2016: Blue Jays v. Dodgers 2015: Blue Jays v. Cubs 2014: Orioles v. Cardinals 2013: Tigers v. Dodgers 2012: Yankees v. Cardinals 2011: Tigers v. Brewers 2010: Yankees v. Phillies 2009: Angels v. Dodgers 2008: Red Sox v. Dodgers 2007: Indians v. Diamondbacks 2006: Athletics v. Mets 2005: Angels v. Cardinals 2004: Yankees v. Astros... first Yankee pennant in 24 years! 2003: Red Sox v. Cubs 2002: Twins v. Cardinals 2001: Mariners v. Braves 2000: Mariners v. Cardinals Wow.....the 90s really sucked for the Yankees, LOL 1999: Red Sox v. Mets 1998: Indians v. Braves 1997: Orioles v. Braves 1996: Orioles v. Cardinals 1995: Mariners v. Reds 1993: White Sox v. Braves 1992: Athletics v. Pirates 1991: Blue Jays v. Pirates 1990: Red Sox v. Reds......hey, where's 43-year-old Carlton Fisk???? 1989: Blue Jays v. Cubs 1988: Red Sox v. Mets....Buckner still playing in Boston??? 1987: Tigers v. Giants....Lincecum too young to play in this series 1986: Angels v. Astros 1985: Blue Jays v. Dodgers 1984: Royals v. Cubs 1983: White Sox v. Dodgers 1982: Angels v. Braves 1981: Athletics v. Expos 1980: Yankees v. Astros 1979: Angels v. Reds 1978: Royals v. Phillies...wow, three years in a row 1977: Royals v. Phillies 1976: Royals v. Phillies 1975: Athletics v. Pirates 1974: Orioles v. Pirates 1973: Orioles v. Reds 1972: Tigers v. Pirates 1971: Orioles v. Giants 1970: Twins v. Pirates 1969: Twins v. Braves
Found a clip from the 1970 NLCS final game, posted a couple months ago by the Reds ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-50Rm9a1JqSM.html...LOVE YOUR WORK!
Red Sox, Yankees, Braves, Dodgers and Nationals have all cheated as well you know. They just didn’t use banging noises and technology from center field
What salary cap? MLB doesn't have one because the PA will never agree to it. If anything, the Yanks are shooting themselves in the foot via the luxury tax as revenue sharing allows "poorer teams" to get extra money.
You can say that again, when baseball was a game, when most pitchers pitched a complete game, not like last several years pitch one scoreless inning and sit down. These baseball players today was way Overpaid and Overrated.
While there are plenty of great pennant clinching moments on this list, only the 1992 NLCS was a situation where any swing of the bat by Cabrera could've been the difference in the Pirates winning vs. the Braves coming back to win. The others were not with the last out in a Game 7.
@@danharrington1824 Because the Red Sox are cheaters. Steroids david ortiz and manny ramirez. And 2018 red sox caught cheating. red sox manager alex cora was fired.
