Thank you. I’m using Streamlabs OBS. Instead of capturing the SteamVR mirror window, I used the OpenVR plugin for Streamlabs to take the “video device” feed from the HMD.
i tried LMU VR 2 days ago after the update that was 2 days ago, and im pleasantly surprised! there is no more stutters when you open the UI during a race session. during a race i rarely get a stutter and that is pretty surprising, even compared to iRacing which i do get a stutter each race. so yeah its still not perfect, but its good enough that i never race in a single screen. even in a multiplayer race its still pretty darn good in a RTX 4080 system
Settings - Lock to horizon and Head Physics. The SIM is working tip top after latest patch in VR on Nvidia gfx, AMD folks still have a few issues and should use the beta.
Not gonna lie though, I think one of the main reasons I'm satisfied is because I purchased at the right time. I kept a close eye on Bigscreen's blog where they talked about their supply issues, and the fact they would receive a new batch of parts some time in August 2024 and people who purchased before August would have to wait longer. So I made the purchase in September, knowing they would have more supplies. I still waited 2 or 3 weeks, but when they announced 1-week delivery, my headset was shipped the same day. That was an infinitely better experience than having to wait months or an entire year like the early adopters.
Definitely smart! I was one of those, early adopter orders that had to put it out of my mind to avoid impatience or frustration. How have you found life with the headset?
@@MAWvR3ALITY Been occasionally using it, mostly to display the virtual Steam overlay curved monitor. I purchased a 4K dummy HDMI plug to have a 4K virtual monitor (I didn't want to own an actual 4K monitor since they are too big for my liking). That's why I noticed some glare because some web pages (and videos) display white over black. I have yet to try using it for a VR game, but I believe it should be just as good if not better than the Vive Pro, without screen-door effect.

Thanks for the information. I'll double-check what my motion smoothing is set too, I've a feeling it's off - but will double-check. We aren't too dissimillar in setups, you have more CPU (AMD Ryzen 9 5900X), whilst I have a tad more GPU (RTX 4090), a Samsung 990 Pro, 64GB but slower @3600. The main common denominator being the BSB.
I have no stutters with my psvr2, I have 7900xtx, I always turn off all image enhancers and have had lock set to high. I turn everything off and set it to low, from there I build up with settings. And in the software of AMD drivers I also turned off everything except anti lag.Play at 120 hertz.
@MAWvR3ALITY If I change my settings a little bit that, then I also get stutters, but every time you change settings, you have to restart everything including Steam. The sweet spot is very narrow with settings, changing 1 setting immediately causes stutters. By the way, I have the 78003d processor.
Im so over tinkering PC sims for the moment. Ill wait till everything gets fixed. In fact Im so over it Ive been playing mostly GT7 on my PSVR2 lately. Since Simhub introduce support its totally change GT7 for me. Somtimes you just wanna sit down and race
Haven't tried the new update, but for now I haven't experienced stuttering outside of what you get during the long load screen. Also no issue with bumpy tracks in vr. I am using a Vario Aero which is a bit heavier than the Big Screen.
@mahmudistiaq I do use openxr which is implemented into the varjo base software. As far as the distant view its on par with what i get in ACC, but there is noticeably more detail visible on the cars.
When I did my first versus comparison, people basically said “ahem - how did you not include AMS2?” I’m getting a sense of Deja Vu 👀. I guess I better update to 1.6 and revisit this topic soon 🤔
I want that headset so bad. Pretty happy with the quest 3, the lenses are just phenomenal, but it needs DisplayPort. The USB-C is holding it back....compression adds latency.
Speaking about glare, I do see them when there's very bright white spots on what I'm looking at. Still, I feel like it's a bit blown out of proportion. Yes, it's there, but it's not THAT bad, at least in my opinion. Well, I guess some people don't like having it at all x)
I agree with you. It’s there, it’s noticeable - dependent on what environment you’re in. However, like you - I find it to be well within my tolerance levels. I’ve even stopped constantly cleaning the smear off my lenses. I guess it’s much more annoying for those using it for VR Chat or movies, I’m yet to test that out.
great video, you tried the LMU for a long time before giving your opinion, and that is correct. More people should do this and not just play for a few minutes to compare. I completely agree with you, LMU is far superior in terms of its work
Thanks for watching and commenting. You’re right about forming opinions too quickly. I’ve definitely been guilty of doing that and will possibly do it again at some point. If so, I’ll try to revisit and highlight where I might have been wrong.
@@MAWvR3ALITY I'm AMD CPU too, i've got one of the X3D chips, probably the best processor I've brought. @@cozza819 based on the current gaming landscape, they have an open goal to get this right and win a lot of love from the sim-racing community. Fingers crossed they don’t go down a development path that ostracises anyone without an Nvidia GPU.

This is from a very”Amateur “ Sim racing VR user….I finally gave LMU a try after purchasing on day 1 of EA…and Although not perfect,I’m having an absolute blast in LMU and have not drove in ACC since the LMU latest update…I only hope The LMU team can stay together long enough to bring the GT3 cars into the sim.
Hey, I aspire to “Amateur Skm-Racing VR user” - welcome to the club, opinions are wholeheartedly welcomed and have just as much value. Glad to hear you’re having a blast too. Wharts and all, LMU is at least giving us all moments of enjoyment whilst it last.
I realised something: if I use the normal soft strap alone without the top strap, even though I used Velcro loop to hold the video cable, it tends to weight down on the strap as I play, making it slip down on my head. To fix that, what I did is I'm setting the strap higher in the back on my head, like in between the back and the top, where the head is thinner, before tightening the strap. This way, since the back of the head is thicker, even if the cable wants to make the strap slip down, it cannot. So far it's been working fine. But I'm still eager to get the 3D printed soft strap mode to add the top strap in halo strap mode.
Yesterday evening, I tried using the headset for 3-4 hours straight. At some point, my view became somewhat blurry even though I knew the lenses were clean and were not covered in fog (that's only at the beginning). That's when I realised my eyes probably got dry from being super isolated and with the headset being somewhat hot (not that hot; unlike the Vive Pro 2). So I removed the headset and took a break. I guess that's something I'll have to take into account too x) But yeah, after several days of using it, I think I'm happy with it. Thank you.
I received my Beyond while I was still sick. Tested it when I got a little better. I think I'm going to need getting used to it. When compared to my Vive Pro with the official thin leather cushion, the field of view is somewhat smaller (if I open Steam overlay in SteamVR, I could see a blurred clock with the Vive Pro in the lower right corner, whereas the clock is out of my field of view with the Beyond). Sometimes, I used to open the Steam overlay in VR to benefit from the giant curved desktop screen, but with the somewhat smaller Beyond field of view, it feels slightly too big, so I have to grab the line at the bottom of the overlay to push it further, and then it's perfect. I ended up setting the luminosity to 50%. Initially, I attempted to set it straight to 10%, but that clearly looked way too dark for my liking. 50% makes it look normal enough to my liking; at least it reminds me of the Vive Pro (even though I was told the Vive Pro was eye burning bright). Screen door effect is completely gone, which is nice. Now I can use my VR headset as an actual screen replacement. Still, it's good that I went from a Vive Pro to the Beyond, because you have to move your head more than your eyes. If you move your eyes, you quickly get out of the field of view. As for light leakage and micro OLED dark? I cannot say much about them, since with the Vive Pro, I already had perfect light isolation and OLED black. You do see a very little light leakage with the Beyond when you put the headset on without plugging in the video input, but once you plug the wire, it's gone. I'm still waiting for my 3D printed soft strap mode to make it more comfortable. I don't want to purchase the audio strap because I want to use my own IEM. Still going to need to get used to it, but I do believe it is a headset for me. But it's definitely not a headset for everyone.
Glad to see it’s been a mostly positive experience for you. It’ll be interest to hear how the 3D printed audio strap and your face gasket feel after a few weeks of use.

Great review. I have one. The field of view is.... very narrow indeed. I hooked up my HPG2 to my daughters PC last week and was astonished by its AMAZING FOV. I guess i got used to the Big Screen Beyond !!. It's definitly a compromise. Same as oyu, its oe i think on balace was worth making for the positives regards weight. I would love one of these with adjustible IPD, mine wa also off. it was too wide. and with a generic gasket so i could share it. all in all... im pretty much of th esame opinion as you. good review !
Thanks for the feedback and comments, I really appreciate it. I totally agree with your “wish-list” of nice to have compromises too. They’d be a great trade off for a slightly bigger headset.
Yep. Small and light weight is awsome. FOV is... disappointing. But on balanace.... it's certainly for me at least a great option. Kinda wondering what the index 2 will bring. Hopefully not much weight. Really good review. About as objective as you get in this "interweb thingamy" 😂 Cheers fella.
The sector bar and other stage information is missing from your views as it is when I use my Reverb G2 but it is there with my Pico headset. Do you know why it is missing in your view and how to turn it on?
I’m not sure, why that might be the case. For my video, I’d turned all onscreen hud elements off deliberately. I have the distance to go bar turned on in some later footage I captured, but I never got around to making and uploading that video.
I either record the SteamVR mirror window via Streamlabs OBS. Or (this video) via the OpenVR plugin for Streamlabs OBS - which takes the headset feed like another video input device.
You are yonna get bored with limited amount of cars and tracks in LMU. I like ams2 for all the content. It has flaws but it is more fun than any game in VR
I'm less likely to get bored (too soon), just because I'm a creature of habit with limited time to race. So I prefer to race the same tracks as the official series, and to focus on improving my performances. But I can see how that wouldn't appeal to people not wanting that, especially if they spend a lot of time in the game and weren't buying the game to match the series, but wanted another game like rF2.
I’m currently on AMS2 Beta and with its leaps in improvement regarding physics and ffb it still is far away from what LMU offers. Imagine having the best of both games.
I definitely have to try out the AMS2 update next week. That would be nice, right. And - if we could also throw in iRacing Tempest - imagine how good that would be.
Thanks for the link to this Video and the settings. May I ask if you use somethin like repojection or smart smoothing.. so to render only the half of the 75 frames. or is native? 26 cars and MSAA 8x will kill my system at Render Resolution set to 3k x3k. I own a RTX 4090 and a 7800x3D but have Pimax Crystal with dynamic forvetead rendering and openxr
Hi, I’m not using reproduction or smart soothing at the moment, just running native at 75hz. But I’m still experimenting to be honest, I haven’t tried a full grid, might, etc.
My complaint about your RU-vid is this. Your title is: "Is Automobilista 2 VR better than Le Mans Ultimate - VR Update". Except you really didn't limit yourself to VR. You made your AMS2 comparisons all about the physics/driving/feel...which has no connection to VR
Fair complaint 👍🏾. It’s because, for me, the “VR experience” is the whole package - everything that makes the experience immersive. This isn’t a subliminal for you to watch the prior videos 😁 - promise, but it’s where I start the theme, that it’s how it immerses me with all senses. But, I take your point if you’re expecting feedback focussed on visuals, interface, and quality of life.
@@MAWvR3ALITY yeah I mean don't get me wrong, I will not even load up AMS 2 anymore until 1.6 comes out and I can see if they've closed the gap. And that's a person who has had a love affair with AMS 2 in the past, particularly with the AI and VR Visuals. LMU's VR is promising, but there's just still a lot of work to be done.
@@RandyMagruder best case scenario is that that all make improvements. AMS2 visuals blew me away at first sight. This coming from iRacing, ACC, AC, and rF2. I just always had a question about the feel. If they fix that 🎉
RaceRoom is still the superior experience in VR, in my opinion...with LMU coming in a close second. Until AMS2 figures out FFB and tire physics (1.6?), it's in 3rd.
@@MAWvR3ALITY It's weird. I ignored RaceRoom forever. Raced every other sim. Tried it once, didn't go back. And then the graphics update came out in September and I thought what the heck, let's try it again. Just night and day better. FEEL: it feels smooth and predictable when driving. I can push, I can hustle the car around, I can FEEL what the car is doing. I can apply every principle used in LMU, iRacing etc and get predictable and enjoyable responses. VR: WIth OpenComposite replacing SteamVR and maxing out my render resolution on Quest 3, I get very very smooth and crisp visuals in VR. The HUD Elements work great in VR (In LMU you the HUD is just an overlay of your monitor hud so you have to scale it so it works, and its mushy and ...not great.) Sound: LMU and RaceRoom are easily the best SOUNDING titles I've ever heard. Watch a replay in action cam on RaceRoom with the volume up. WHOA. NetCode. Net code is VERY VERY solid. Even racing with people in Europe, I never feel that the collisions are unfair or netcode induced. Yes, people can skip around if their pings are high, but it's very solid. So many tracks, so many cars. And by buying packs or (as I ultimately did) the premium pack, I got ALL the content. I actually met some guys driving LMU Co-Op races with the new update (which I did in VR), and it was great, but at the same time, so many issues with it, that I introduced the guys on my team to RaceRoom and they are now buying content for it and racing it with me. RaceRoom for me is the best kept secret in Sim Racing.
@@RandyMagruder I need to stop reading comments, you’re all encouraging me to buy more content 🤣. Being serious, that was me - one attempt, meh - dropped it. I’ll have to add RR to my ever expanding list of “to do”. Thanks for the info 👍🏾
Whilst i agree with your opinion that LMU currently offers the better driving experience, I strongly disagree that AMS2's FFB is Arcadey. FFB and Physics are two entirely different conversations and are often confused. If you aren't feeling exactly what you want to feel from your force feedback, then it's your ffb profile settings, period. Instead of trying other ffb profiles you've found, definitely try to build your own profile, strip back any wheelbase 'extras' and use the in-game ffb first, before adding in any external wheelbase software extras like intertia, damping etc. Physics on the other hand, I agree. Currently LMU offers a better driving experience, in fact, i'd go further and say no other sim offers the driving experience that LMU does. AMS2's physics, like you described, overdriving the car to produce quick lap times, with very little danger of losing the car are unrealistic, thankfully a major re-work has been undertaken and with the imminent release of the 1.6 update have largely been addressed. Currently, you can totally take the piss with overdriving, in 1.6, you'll quickly swap ends if you try to drive over the limit. Not saying they are LMU physics but they are massively improved. VR implementation, there really is no comparison, AMS2 is still the benchmark, far more polished and that was the title of your video, is ams2 VR better than LMU VR. performance is far superior in ams2 than LMU. At the end of the day, all of these opinions are entirely subjective. ask the same question regarding one sim versus another to 20 different people and you'll most likely get 20 different answers.
Thanks, that’s a really articulate clarification. Post the 1.6 update, I’ll have to invest some time in reevaluating - including taking your advice on profiles. My opinion is most definitely subjective and possibly (probably) skewed heavily by recency bias and euphoria. I had previously intended on investing the time to start from scratch, but that idea (project) has been gathering dust on my “to-do” list. Again, thanks - especially for taking the time to provide such comprehensive and constructive feedback 👍🏾. Edit - I just took a look and see you have a number of AMS2 videos. I’ll have to check them out and see/hear your experiences with it (subbed 🙌🏾).
@@MAWvR3ALITY yep, I agree with Metz. Having driven 1.6 a fair bit, I have to say I find AMS2 more enjoyable to drive than LMU, although I'm sure LMU is more realistic. In terms of VR AMS2 is far superior, and even if they fix things like the low rez mirrors in LMU, it likely won't match it based on my RF2 experience. It will still be decent though I'm sure and I hope they get there before they go bankrupt.
@@mikecroshaw9233 Thanks, I think “more enjoyable” is the most important thing. Like Metz says, ‘it’s subjective’. So, considering we all have finite time to invest in our hobbies - my opinion is somewhat irrelevant when it comes to people getting what they want or need, in return on the time they invest. But, if you all keep telling me how great 1.6 is - I might have to make a point of challenging my own opinion 😊.
I agree with you but I find ams2 a bit more fun. In vr in steam I set the world scale to 120 which gives it more realistic, by default I drive in a porch but it looks like a Toyota aigo. 😅I play the game with the psvr2 at 90 hertz, with my 7900xtx everything on ultra low everything looks very good. But as soon as I set the graphic settings higher it doesn't run as smoothly anymore, there is still work to be done.
@@MAWvR3ALITY As a huge RF2 FFB fan I found a FIX for AMS2 FFB, it's the only sim that requires almost max filtering in Logitech G Pro 11nm software, so it may be the case with other DD wheels, now its FFB on par or even better than RF2 for me. Stock car 2024 is the car to try for 1.6 tyres, much more punishing over the limit.
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate you disagreeing respectfully. 6 months ago, I probably would have said “less sophisticated”, rather than ‘arcade’. I’ll be the first to admit my opinion is subjective, probably biased by recent experiences and excitement. I’ll happily reassess over the coming months and eat my words if AMS2 updates.
I'll have to time it to be completely objective, but they still aren't the greatest. Online it can seem like an age, but much of that is down to the splits being assigned to each server. Pretty-much similar to the length of time an LFM server takes to appear in ACC once the web-site says the session is up.
@@MAWvR3ALITY Thanks. Since I don't have much time anymore, I prefer to play single play. That means the AI still has to be loaded and finding this coordination was difficult enough in RF2. I remember spending entire weekends modding, playing around with the options more than racing. If you try umpteen times to find a setup that works well, you keep reloading. Very unfortunate. The same problem also occurs in other simulations. But AMS2 e.g. loads the route within seconds, so you can quickly find your way into the race. Even Assetto Corsa with Content Patch can be the worst. It charges faster than RF2 but there are more options than the SpaceShuttle. OutOfTheBox seems to still win AMS2 for me. Even if physics and FF aren't as good as RF2. You play the game and not with the options.
@@G.Yam74as a positive with LMU, there aren’t any mods - so setting up a single player offline race weekend is more similar to AMS2. I can’t remember if you said you’d tried LMU. If not - you could use the Steam 2-hour refund to see how quickly/slowly a race weekend loads - then refund.
I just timed it; 26 car grid, multi-class, offline race weekend. 63 seconds from hitting ‘Start Weekend’ to the practice session loading in being complete.
Feels a bit premature given AMS2 is on the cusp of a major update that will change the handling of the cars, but gives you an excuse to do another video I guess lol. Would be interested in how do you find the AI in LMU? Is it possible to do an online championship? Ta 👍
Haha - I know, I’m so fickle right now 🤣. And thanks for the video idea, I’m 100% making a note of that 😊. I haven’t tried the AI yet, nor night settings - so I’ll have to look into those too. Thanks for the ideas.
I like your comments about intuitiveness of driving experience. Totally agree. Was pushing my Sebring time and was struggling in GTE to go under 2:00. So addictive and setting laptimes 2:00.1 lap after lap and then finally get a 159.5 was such an amazing feeling. The whole journey and experience to get better times and improve. The feeling on the brakes, turn in speed and pushing the limits more and more feels so intuitive.
A) congrats on the 01:59.5 - that’s an impressive time. B) I agree completely - that consistency in time, driving without thinking about what you’re doing, just becoming comfortable in your inputs and tuning in the muscle memory. So rewarding.
I really can't get along with AMS2 no matter how much I want to. The force feedback feels like I'm on a belt driven wheel despite being on a thousand dollar base.
@@MAWvR3ALITY you know, I haven’t yet. I saw a thread of like 300 pages on maybe it was AMS’s forum with custom FFB files and it just sort of turned me off. I’ll probably revisit it once 1.6 comes out to see if I can make it feel better, but if I can’t in an hour or two, that will likely be the last time for me. Graphically, the engine is brilliant for VR, but for whatever reason, the FF just is so weird compared to most other sims. So 1.6 and one more try. Using a Simagic Alpha Ultimate for reference.

Both sims are outstanding in VR! LMU is my no1 along with AMS2. AMS2 is more polished in VR, has better cars spectrum but man! ...LMU physic and sounds is unmatched.
And the craziest thing is, this isn’t S397’s official implementation of VR. You can definitely see where it needs polish, but some of the issues aren’t specific to VR. I really hope they get to finish the project and deliver the end result they had in mind.
Wow, I wasn't expecting your comparison result! Purely on VR visuals, I tip my cap to AMS2. But if combining VR and intuitive driving feel, then LMU takes the cake. Fun factor and ease of use is still with AMS2 as a complete package, but if LMU can polish the VR experience more e.g., HUD, menus, micro-stutters, etc. then LMU complete PKG will be better than AMS2. But the future of LMU looks to be up in the air and I don't know if I want to commit to it fully as my preferred sim
My result shocked me too 😏. I hadn’t driven AMS2 since playing with the FFB profiles and “loving it”. Man, I’m turning into a fickle, fickle, sim-racer 👀 I agree with everything you’ve said. The only part where I might already be lost is, I’m hooked on LMU right now 🤣. The withdrawals will be rough if S397 goes out of business and takes LMU with it.
@@MAWvR3ALITY I just completed my first online race in LMU, and I'm confident I can retire from... ACC! 😅 Ok, not that hard since I haven't played ACC for some time and I can't bear having to perpetually niggle with VR settings on my Quest 3 and 4090 PC to not make my eyes bleed. Plus LMU looks and feels superior to ACC, not to mention the broader car class options with hypercars and LMP2. High hopes that the GT3s get released for LMU
Much is good about LMU. But I think the lighting is wrong in LMU (everything is way too bright) and it is extremely performance demanding. I get worse performance in LMU with 72 Hz and 1.0 super sampling compared to AMS2 90 Hz and 1.5 super sampling.
Yep, there’s definitely something ‘not quite right’ with the visuals outside of the car in LMU. A flat or washed out feel. But then, I’ll watch footage back on a small screen, like phone or tablet, and it looks similar to IRL footage. Makes me start to think I’m imagining what it looks like full screen or when in VR. I hear you on the performance too. I’m hoping S397 gets the time to improve on that, significantly. I’ll have to check out your videos to see your results 👍🏾.
Only in full sun something is off but with some clouds LMU can look like real life and even AMS2 cannot compare. With BSB you can run post effect high, 75hz mode, 3560x3560 MSAA 4x. Only track graphics to medium to avoid micro stutter and all other can be ultra or high. Amazing
@@Racingfan101 Thanks, I'll check what I've got mine set to. I think I have track at medium and SteamVR at 150%. I'll also change the weather because, on my phone and tablet I've definitely had take my breath away moments - then wondered what I'm missing when looking at it in 4K.

I still think this game offers the best driving experience. It’s fun to drive, it feels like you’re driving an actual race car and elevates the sim experience. Combined with a motion sim it’s incredible. I hope they pull through and I have to agree, the VR is better than ams2 which always looked cartoony to me.
I agree with you 100%. Anyone saying otherwise, about the driving experience, is confused. It would be criminal if we lost this title to insolvency. We’d always know that better was possible.
It’s such a shame that we’re all wondering if it has a future. The past week of racing it has been so good, I’ve not loaded up ACC since. Hopefully someone rescues LMU and you get to try it out.
Hey great review. I just got mine a week ago. I had an issue when I start steam VR. The headset will still be black. It’s tracking the headset, I can see on my computer screen. But nothing display on the headset. Have you ever ran into a problem like that? Thanks
Thanks. Yes, I’ve had that too. Usually I resolve by unplugging the headset and closing down Steam and SteamVR. Also check SteamVR to see if it has blocked any plugins. Are you experiencing the problem with all games, one in particular, or just SteamVR itself?
@@MAWvR3ALITY thanks for your reply. Yeh pretty much all games and steam vr. It just started a few days ago. It was working fine before. Had a ticket open with beyond. Hope they will be able to solve it.

Shame there seems to be uncertainty now with the game's future given Motorsports Games financial issues. I could have seen myself buying this when it's out of early access and the VR is properly supported.
Agreed! I’m really hoping a responsible buyer buys S397 and supports them continuing the project. LMU has so much potential, it’s the release I was most excited about. Even more so than AC(2) EVO .
@@MAWvR3ALITY same. Hard to see who has the cash to deliver outside of the depressing options of EA and iRacing. I doubt Reiza or Kunos have the resources and capacity to take it on
LMU in VR has easily surpassed ACC both visually and gameplay wise in the latest update. And thats before i had a chance at the daily online races! Being able to properly access the menu in VR legitimizes VR gameplay in LMU. And Sebring in LMU feels like the best version out there, slightly edging out AC. I cant wait when Sebring comes to AMS2. I'd like to see you compare those LMU and AMS2 track versions when it happens
I would be a liar and a fool to argue that LMU hasn’t surpassed ACC in gameplay. I’m of the same opinion on the driving experience. Same with the car interiors. I think we need the MFD double entry resolved and the always on top window fixed then it matches on quality of life too. If they can resolve the stuttering, allowing me to push up the visual settings, I might soon whole-heartedly agree on outside the car visuals too. By that I quality, because LMU already wins on track accuracy. Fingers crossed we get Sebring in AMS2 soon. For now, I’m thinking Le Mans or Spa.
Hey, great in-depth assessment! Note your go-to VR benchmark in ams2, any particular reason you don’t mention rF2? I find that’s the best balance of physics & graphics (believe or not! lol). I find that ams2 is a bit cartoonish vs rf2 being more photorealistic. But, hey I guess VR is so subjective, you’re probably thinking I need an eye test, to each his own I guess. But I would recommend you take a look back at rf2 and tweak some settings - their VR is settled; which is why I’m confused why LMU just didn’t build on that🤷🏽. On another note, really thinking about the BSB as an alternative headset for longer sessions . I have the Crystal light and can definitely recommend it for the clarity, but the comfort is not ideal…..so your in-depth assessments are really tempting me - BUT geez, that small sweet spot, just conceptually, I’m struggling how you can do it for hours, lol. Great work & keep it up; don’t know you don’t have more subscribers- stay at it!!
Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback and you taking the time to comment in-depth. AMS2 as a benchmark pretty-much came out of viewer comments asking how I could overlook it as the best VR supported game to date. After checking it out, I have to admit - as an “out of the box”, no modding or tweaking required - it just works so well, straight away. You can tell VR was a feature design from day one. I take your point in “cartoonish” at times, but fidelity-wise - inside and out of the car, overall I think it beats all bar AC with CSP. But AC requires CSP etc. I’ll have to give rF2 another go, as I’ve not tried it since getting the BSB/4090 combo. Previously, I had issues with it; aliasing, quality of modded track etc. I also had this weird phenomenon - where my view would jump when I clipped a curb (probably some setting I needed to find and disable in the .ini file). But, I’ll definitely take another look now you’ve suggested it 👍🏾
