Are the traits of these rifles exceptional? No. The individual traits are not. The technology wasn't. The artistry wasn't. The practicality wasn't. Put all of these together though and you have an exceptional item. The guns are exceptional.
This is actually very profound observation about the culture of the Appalacians. It is difficult to have a strong culture when you don't have a unified ethnicity with a unique culture. There is nothing racist about it, it is just difficult to find that unity and culture with so many different people groups. It isn't about being white, it is about all being the same.
Sylvia is a wonderful pianist and a kind person. Also, her range of expression as a teacher may be greater than as a pianist. Be prepared to put your ego aside before a lesson!
Wow, really enjoyed this. I'm 50 and I am just beginning quilting. Been a truck driver for 28 years and I find myself craving a more "simpler" life/world like in this video instead of today's fast pace. Nothing went to waste back in the day. Hoping You tube will pop up some more old videos like this Gem. ❤
So good to see Leon Gregorian in action! Not only a fine conductor but one of the best teachers of conducting (Michigan State University) anywhere. I learned so much from him! Bravo, Maestro!
I pulled this interview up, because I was missing my late father. I remember Mr. Stuart visiting my my dad. They were lifetime friends. Makes me homesick 😢
@@agoargentinayes it is. We did not try to enter the home. Also it's listed on National Historic Registry. I've written to many people including the registry. I'm told the family can do as they please with their property. Sad.
I am amazed at how these ladies would make these quilts back in the day. No rotary cutter, none of the nice rulers we have now. That is true handiwork and pure art and patience. Hand sewing and hand quilting - made my fingers hurt just seeing the video of them sewing. Its just amazing to me how far quilting has come in the areas of techniques and tools.
A wonderful man and player! My dad, Steve Cunningham, considered Greg one of the finest men and teammates he ever got to play with at Western. All the best, Greg!
The book is a must read , I highly recommend it . The cave itself is a bit more of a leave it up to you , if you decide you want to fine , if not thats fine too. No you actually do not see him trapped there, nor do you see his trapped area .
Caver John Jones was more horrific, he died upside down with his head stuck in a hole in a cave in Utah for over 24 hours. They must love caving so much they are prepare to die like that, it will happen to these live on the edge fanatics.
I’ve been down to the Kaydet Floyd Collins went into fortunately they have it marked off with iron bars. Fort Collins asked for it quite frankly I don’t mean it disrespectfully but he was using dynamite to blow his way out stuff like that he went down there to begin with no one knew he was missing for somewhere in the room about 14 hours. Caves are very dangerous places people don’t go into them unless you are specialized training and a lot of back up.
Not a fan of that IH video , the light hearted entertainment lets make fun of someone's death isn't interesting to me. I found it very disrespectful. And also had lots of wrong info. It was badly researched .
@@gingerbill128 I think that’s a bit dramatic. Its dark humor for sure but he didn’t disrespect the death of Floyd. Actually, in a round about way, he saluted Floyd for his daring and adventurous life.
I found that video full of errors and not well researched at all , so many errors. It was the light hearted amusing look at someone's death that i disliked far more than the errors. Was a poor video even if only judged against his other videos. Least interested people will look into the reality of what happened due to IH's funny look at the guys death.
@@memezoffuckery3207 Totally agree! I got here after watching the Southern Gothic Podcast on Floyd Collins before stumbling into this lecture video by the recommendations.
@@Urlocallordandsavior Yeah, IH did a bad job his his video with the history. So many crucial details, pivotal to the story was left out or outright ignored in it. I'm in the process of making a video about all the major things wrong with his video.
