Hey there... Some pretty cool stuff you were able to find. I've been watching Dillons videos for a few years now. Great guy with great stories. Cheers, Darryl.
Hi Darryl, thanks for watching and commenting. Yes Dillon is an amazing guy, passionate and very knowledgeable when it comes to music and vinyl records. I had the opportunity to go twice to his shop over the last 5 years and always found some gems. Cheers, Olivier
@@chriskitsopoulos9851 right, but it is not about money but passion for music and vinyl records. Everything has a price tag of course but Noble Records has fair prices !
@@justinliborio6240 yes was amazed about what Dillon had in his shop ! Sure there were many other grails in the shop, some I had, some I don’t care for and some I just didn’t know about
@@noblerecords love what you are doing. Will come to visit you Saturday October the 12th. Looking forward to dig some great records and hopefully see you.
Great video. Love Dillion and the stuff he's putting out. I put up a short video recently the day I received my copies of ODA & HOMER. Love them both. Cheers
@@7BobbyGaylor7 thanks for watching and commenting, yes Dillon is doing an amazing job bringing these obscure bands back to live. I m planing a trip to his shop in a couple of weeks. Looking forward for it for the records but aw well for the man. Cheers
Aww man Sixty Nine Live - one of my favourite bands - pick up the studio release "Circle of the Crayfish" if you can , Hammond heaven. Just back from Munich myself on the hunt , picked up Frame and Frumpy 2 . Great video
@@grahamallen9393 thanks for watching and commenting man. Have circle of crayfish but as a reissue unfortunately. Frumpy 2 is still on my wantlist. Found some great record stores in Munich. Went to Stuttgart few days before but was not able to score OGs there.
Great video. Love that "Birth Control" album. I have the Schwingungen album as well. So good. I'm new to the VC. I posted my first video about 3 weeks ago. Cheers
love your videos and record collection , allways a great mix of krautrock progrock and hardrock ( i like to collect this genres myself ) Cheers and keep rocking
Hello I'm not sure how your video ended up on my feet but it's cool. You said you are in the uk? I'm originally from Germany (love the uk) but married a GI from Ohio and we went back to Ohio in 81 and tracked down the pooba singer Jim, and bought that record straight off of him and ended up being friends with him and his wife. They still played live at the time and we used to go see play in bars and clubs. Excellent record! Lost track of them because we got divorced. Just thought you would like to hear this since you seem to like them a lot. Ps My ex was al simones, he also did a few psych records later.
@@ufochris hi, I m originally from France, Alsace right at the German boarder but leaving in Georgia USA. What a cool story you have. There were many great musicians back in days. Thanks for sharing
Canuck here, in Canada we have "Best Of Scorpions". Released on RCA in 1979. Songs from PPL1-4025, PPL1-4128, CPL1-4225, CPL2-3039. All your favourite albums. Songs are: Steamrock Fever, Pictured Life, Robot Man, Backstage Queen, Speedy's Coming, Hell Cat. Side B: He's a Woman, She's a Man, In Trance, Dark Lady, The Sails of Charon, Virgin Killer. A magnificent piece of vinyl that I'd never heard growing up in Ontario. It was really popular in Alberta in 1980. It fucking rocks and changed my life. If I had a spare copy I would gladly send you one for your collection, but I have just the one and can't part with it.
Your top 40 is interesting. The Jay and Kai is a lovely Savoy record as is the Carmen McRae on Bethlehem, great record label. Illinois Jacquet records are awesome as are the Miles and the Mingus 6 eye Colombias. Prest and Sweets is a gem. Ben Webster swings. I like. Beat by Roy Brooks. The Chet is sublime. The Blue Notes are great records. The Donald Byrd is a great intro to him alongside Byrd in Hand. Any Lee MOrgan has a place in a jazz collection. Something Else and Moanin’ are classic as is 6 Pieces of Silver. Cafe Bohemia, Coltrane, Hank Mobley, Bobby Hutcherson, are more accessible that’s the Ornette Coleman. Stanley Turrentine is such a special sax player. Listen to the Hank Mobleys. They are a revelation. Search for the New Land is one of Lee Morgan’s best records. Art Blakey, John. Patton, Lou Donaldson are all phenomenal musicians. I collected Ronnie Laws in the 80s. I have almost all these records within m,y collection. It is a great spread of relatively acceptable bop, hard bop and even the odd Asante guard record like the Ornette Coleman. Enjoy.
Tank you very much for watching and for the detailed review. I m getting more and more into Jazz thanks to this collection and all I learned from it. I really enjoyed my journey so far I will continue to explore new Jazz sub gendre going forward
You must have a nice collection of prog , krautrock and hardrock by now . I like to collect this genres myself Thanks again for very interesting video , cheers
Thanks for watching and commenting. I m collecting records for the last 35 years at least and was able to put a significant collection together I got seriously into Krautrock around 10 years ago. Wish it would have been earlier that I could buy all this gems at a much lower price 🤣
Hello, I just found your channel. I'm as well relatively new to jazz music. I come from rock music but in recent years I have shifted to jazz, since I found this genre absolutely fascinating. I regret not finding it out much before, but things happened that way. I first started in jazz in the early 2000's on CDs, but I was still highly into rock music. Around three years ago I came back to jazz, this time on vinyl format. This second round finds me really engaged to jazz. I'm exploring its various styles or subgenres, but just like you, I wouldn't consider myself an expert. It's like a whole new world opening wide for me, and I'm enjoying this music intensively, always looking for new records to buy. So, I could say I'm in the early stage of a long journey. Hope I have enough life to dig deeper into this fantastic music.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Jazz is definitely a journey. As you I gave a try a few times but was never very persistent. Over the years, with my musical knowledge evolving, and maybe me getting older 🤔, I started to enjoy more and more to a point that I would now have some Jazz albums in my 💯
Their first two Albums were "Picturesque Matchstickable Messages from The Status Quo and Spare Parts" you have many of the songs from those albums on the Pye records compilations so I would not recommend buying them. The Quo sound came together on Ma Kelly's... so you have the most important records. There are two I would advise you to add if you find them. "Quo" and the "live "album from 1977 also there was a live E P with Roll Over Lay Down from about this time. You have collected the best of their output. Well done.
A good selection - would have been nice to see more of the Otis Spann LP.. Been collecting 45 years (2,000+pressings, LP's/45's/10") and have never encountered that one! Same label as the Fred McDowell? Cheers.
As usual a great selection . Good mix of progressive ( kraut ) and hardrock . I have a collection of psychedelic , progressive , hardrock and metal too , mostly reissues however That Ashbury album is a real gem . Love your videos , thanks and take care
Thanks for watching and commenting. Nothing wrong with re issue, I have seen case where they sound even better. As a long time collector and Krautrock fan I liked to have those OG as it is kind of cool to listen on the support which was issued back then.
Wow, great collection you’ve got there. Some incredible concerts. What a great score. Congrats and thanks for sharing it with us. New subscriber. Cheers ✌️
Hello, just found your channel and had to watch this video first. My jaw dropped ....what a find and luck you had on getting this. These are all looking great what a collection many I have not seen. I would of lost my mind .. Great score !!!
Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes I was very lucky on that one. The guy found those records in a storage unit. Records are all in excellent condition and I was able to secure a good deal
I know! He’s got some great bootlegs there. I’ve been buying zeppelin bootlegs since the early 80’s. I get most of my titles from Japan directly. This guy got super lucky finding these titles. Cheers
Thanks for watching and commenting. McIntosh amplifiers are fantastic, so is the the VPI turntable. It took me 30 years of collecting and listening to music before moving to such high end equipment. I went through many others before and improved over time. Still have plans for another turntable, speakers, an additional MC275 amp and MC cartridge. Just need to get the founding 😰
Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Always a pleasure to share my latest finds and try to make some discover new music or just enjoying me showing the records
Thanks for watching and commenting. I was seeing online that this Chet record is highly looked after. It is a great album too. There were 3 DMM Blue Notes in the collection. To be honest I listen to one of them, from Lee Morgan, and didn’t found it sound as bad. Will check out the others
Hi there! New to your channel and just subscribed. I am a big jazz fan, and you showed many records here that I've never seen before. I have a live at Newport Jazz Festival recording by Jay & Kai from 1956. It's a 70s reissue but is excellent. I have that Chet Baker album you showed but on compact disc. It's really excellent. I also have Lee Morgan "Sidewinder" but on compact disc as well. A real classic. If you enjoy Art Blakey, check out his release "A Night In Tunisia"...highly recommended, and he was just an incredible drummer. I have a Stanley Turrentine record, but not those that you showed. You really got a huge score with this collection! I'm jealous! ✌
Thanks for watching and commenting. Really like Art Blakey and will check out the record you recommended. I listened to few of the records in the meantime. The Jazz messengers (with Art Blakey) is excellent. Like as well Donald Byrd and all Lee Morgan. I get more into Jazz as my specialty is more 70s progressive rock, bluesrock and hard rock. Thanks for subscribing.
You got some good ones and variety. The Ronnie Laws is early smooth jazz. Hank, Lee, and Art are the heart and soul of the Blue note label in the progressive hard bop style.
What a great collection of music you have acquired!! Lots of great listening & discovery there. That Roy Brooks album that you got is very special indeed - a superb and rare album. Enjoy!!!
Dont worry about the amount of money the records are worth, you have a great collection there to start your journey into the jazz world. Its all down to what you like, start to look at who performs with who and you will see patterns and it will help guide you to the type of jazz you like. Enjoy the experience you will find artists recording that are really expensive but it might just not do it for you. Do not sell them , put them away and listen in a years time when you have learnt about different types of jazz and different styles. Above all enjoy the journey.
WHat fascinates me is that many of these music room tours involve expensive sound systems but not the most comfortable listening chairs, and the vinyl is hard rock or heavy metal. I would focus on Jazz / Blues / Classical / Prog-rock, and get an arm chair with arms.... Les goûts ne sont pas à discuter!
