I have been a knife enthusiast for several decades now starting with my use of the good old swiss army knife as a boy scout. Since then I have always been working in the woods clearing quad trails at the family farm and cutting down trees for firewood. I have been an avid outdoorsman, interested in mountain hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, hunting, winter camping, bushcrafting etc… Over the years, I have owned and used knives from most of the major knife companies and many from custom knife makers. Owning and using so many knives has helped me develop a good idea of what works and what doesn’t in the real world. I have been making my own hand made knives for more than 10 years using good old high carbon steels, stainless steels and the so called high alloy super steels. I hope you enjoy my knife designs and I’m always interested to hear your feedback so we can produce the best knives at an affordable price point. Don’t hesitate to contact me at auroraborealisknives@gmail.com.
What’s the new design you’re working on in a recent video where the knife is thinner behind the edge. I have a Kodiak. Love it. But I am searching for a big knife that’s slicier - thinner behind the edge.
@@auroraborealisknives4019 when might that be available and is there another option currently available that’s robust but also thinner behind edge. I wish I could combine the slicyness of my esee junglas and the kodiak.
Hey Alex. Im keen on the rugged version, it looks awesome. It will match perfectly with my rugged War Dog! Who knew a dog and a lynx could get along so well haha -Sid
Just got the knife ,very nice design its a big knife but feels very nimble in the hand and fit n finish is top notch im looking forward to getting more of there knives
I'm very pleased to report that I just ordered a Kodiak from the WTG website. I've been wanting one for months and when I saw they were still available, I jumped on it.
Great insight into WTG, great company, I’ve had only the best experiences with. Easily made its way to becoming my favourite knife company very quickly. Fantastic designers. Love my wolverine !
@@auroraborealisknives4019 I already bought the bear claw and Kodiak and the nomad camp nine also waiting on my wolverine if there are any other websites out there that I can purchase the larger work tuff gear knives please let me know.
I always thought the Enzo’s Scandi grind was to obtuse. Combine that with whatever secondary bevel you have put on yours, makes them no fun to work with. While WTG makes a pretty though convex edge, I find it a hinderance on smaller knives and it tends to make their large choppers glance off things rather than bite in...Just Say’n
Ive been saying it quite a bit lately but im in love with this Forester, out of all the knives i had waiting on me at home its the one ive handled the most im usually out 1 to 3 months at a time. You slayed it, hoping the weathers nice tomorrow and give it a proper workout. Also hoping to pickup a Voyager and possibly a 2nd backup Forester
Awesome stuff Alex. Really impressed with that prototype, looks like your Mt Lion. I’ll keep an eye out for that one on the WTG site, id like to purchase it
Not really. I did test an ESEE clone in the past and it was Ok The problem with Chinese made knives is that you never know what steel you are really getting With Worktuff you kniw you are getting quality
Ah true, thx. I forgot that K329 is only half stainless. So is the K329 obsolete now or are there any reasons at all to choose the K329 over the A6? Greetings from Germany
Good testing! I had been hoping for a V44X drop in AEBL. Vic was having a hard time sourcing some without paying a ton for Shipping. This looks like a great alternative. 👊🏼
