I'm doing a top end on my 2022 300 race edition and the stack of base gaskets that came off the bike measure over 1mm.. that seems almost too thick, but it came from the factory that way.. I suppose I should just get the decking tool to measure the clearance on top of the piston instead of just stacking a bunch of gaskets with the new piston. Thoughts?
Hm... Cant say if this is the right direction. I think the RR are fine now, missing at my 23 300rr more steering Angle (the 24s are way better) and the ZF fork needs a better internal Setup. I will swtichzto a racing Model next year and soften the kyb Suspension. Beta should bring a racing Version of the x Trainer. I would by one directly. A flickable light weigth 300 for Hard Enduro and fun 😊
X-pro is just additional branding being added to the regular RR range, the xtrainer still exists. Range is now RR X-Pro, RR Racing and Xtrainer. Plain RR has been superseded.
I’m super disappointed with my new 2024 xtrainer at 2-1/2 hours first oil change the gearbox is full of coolant I have never had a problem with any Japanese dirt bike I have bought in the last 40 years. At the dealer now and have no update on the problem yet. I really hope this isn’t a start to a P.O.S bike with a troublesome ownership.
This as a 350 would be epic! SE has RR rear master cylinder as well. Wonder if the SE has the enhanced emissions setup of the RR? A great option, hopefully Beta will sell more of in the future. 👍
I am 2t hard enduro through and through and have 300 and 200. However the 390 re is effin amazing! I had to have one and when i feel like going fast and hitting turns I break her out and it scratches that itch my HE valved 2t bikes cant reach.
Thanks for the discussion! I don’t think they are going after the hard enduro crowd with these because they’re making a whole range, including 4 strokes. Hard enduro people will want 250/300cc two strokes. To me it feels like they are going after the trail riders, like you said - those who want a slightly more capable Xtrainer.
Race Gold class level hard enduro in aus on a beta 300 re. Absolutely stocked to see this model in the line-up. Is exactly what I believe beta should be offering and will be lining up for one
Hi, it seems that many BETA customers are sceptical about this model, what is also strange and amazing to me is that they apparently did not use a survey with their the dealer network or a customer satisfaction report in order to determine customer needs and adapt new model specs, ...or did they?
Having one spring in firks doesn't means it gonna be soft. You just get really hard one spring. I had Kxf 250 2013 with a Showa SFF fork and you can belive me it wasn't soft.
Thanks Jared. Regarding the map switch, I'm not sure it does anything at all. If it does make a change, it is so subtle that it's almost imperceptible. On the other hand, the power valve takes the bike from tame to fire breathing. When I turn the power valve, the difference in the bike's desire to spin a tire is profound. Love your work Jared.
Lower sounds good...but unless the have re-designed the frame so its NOT lower under the bash plate, losing ground clearance can make it harder to get over obstacles
I never use the map switch on my RR (which I LOVE). This is super disappointing though. I didn't want the stiff KYB, the RR is a perfect bike if your not an A-AA rider. So dumb BETA! Sounds like you lose a lot more than the $200ish decrease in price.
Is Beta still making the RS models for 2025? I would think there are a ton of people here in the US that want an enduo that has a plate. Especially people who like doing true BDRs that are mostly single track.
I think Beta is really falling behind by holding off on fuel injected two strokes. I know a lot of people still want carbs but after riding several TBI bikes now I am not one of those people. It will be interesting when Sherco announces their 2025 lineup as signs point to them releasing FI 2 strokes this year. New fork sounds like a step in the wrong direction, I hope the new frame makes the bike handle more like the XTrainer than the older RR models.
Beta is getting better market share because of carbs. Weight, cost and reliability. Let’s see how the forks work, it is lighter and allowed a cost reduction.
A single sided fork sping fork is not good for offroad. This will be a big fail and will be just like fixing a ktm frint air fork. It will be a $2,000 fix to make it right for roots and rocks.
Well, as a novice senior citizen who's 6'1" tall with short legs, this is interesting to me. I have a 2021 Beta 500 RRS that I love, but I have spent some time on an xtrainer as well, and having something that would feel like a mix between the two would probably suit me pretty well. And yep, I ride around the backcountry of Colorado. lol I do use my map switch some, but not a ton, but I can tell it mutes the initial hit at low rpm. On my 500 once the rpm's get up to a certain level I can't tell the difference between the maps, but at low rpm's I can.
