Home Connect Questions -Week of 1/7/24 These questions are perhaps the most thought provoking questions our Home Connect Groups have ever had. I hope you spend a good amount of time considering them. -PJ Please Read John 7:40-8:11 and answer the following questions: 1. What were the different opinions about Jesus and how are they different? (See also: 7:12) 2. Why were people divided (vs 43)? 3. What seems to have caused the officers to return having not arrested Jesus as ordered (vs. 32)? 4. What does verse 49 tell you about how the Jewish religious leaders viewed people and how is that different from what Jesus taught? 5. What was the basis for Nicodemus’ argument and what does the response tell us about his peers? 6. What was the motive of the religious leaders in bringing the woman before Jesus? 7. Have you ever been purposely humiliated by someone or do you have a situation where you have been humiliated? What was that like? 8. Imagine that you were watching this scene unfold, what emotions would you have? 9. Do you think those emotions would be different if perhaps the sinning woman had sinned against you personally? 10. Whose law had the woman presumably violated? 11. What happened when Jesus came the first time, and what will happen when He returns? 12. Think about the two different verses where we see Jesus writing. Now zoom out and consider the grand narrative of the Kingdom of God and the coming of Christ. What do you see? Look again. 13. Where are they? (vs. 10)
Years before COVID hit I was praying for the church to be sifted. I was sick and tired of false believers parading themselves around like they were one of us, all because there's no real persecution here in the States. COVID hit and I saw them leaving in the droves when churches closed their doors and went online or shut down for good. I pray for an even deeper purification of the Church before His coming.
That is a great question. It's practice that actually does have a deep theological root. We believe salvation comes subsequent to a person having faith in Jesus and it is not handed down from parents or family members, or prayers. When the Philppian jailer asked 'what must I do to be saved? The reply was believe! After he believed, he was baptized. (Acts 16:31) That is the biblical order. We see the same order in Acts 8 with the Ethiopian Eunuch. Both baptism and communion have been coopted by religious groups that in essence "hold the keys" of salvation thus establishing their own power and separating the individual from coming to a saving relationship on their own. Infant baptism is a great evil as it gives individuals an assurance of salvation that the scriptures nowhere grant. -PJ
Questions: 1. Why did Paul follow the sacrificial laws around unbelieving Jews when he knew it was a sin to do so? 2. Did Jesus ever stop keeping Torah laws when he was around gentiles to win them over to the faith? 3. Why did Paul use deception against his unbelieving Jewish brothers to win them over to the faith? 4. While Jesus was on the earth, did he ever condone his disciples using deception to win people over to the faith? 5. When Jesus left the earth, did he ever condone or promote the use of deception by his followers to win people over to the faith? 6. Does Jesus presently condone or promote the use of deception by his followers to win people over to the faith? 7. Did Jesus teach Paul how to use deception to win over unbelieving Jews to the faith? 8. Is deception a tool of Satan or Jesus? 9. Is there any darkness in Jesus or his father?
I am so thankful for the fact that I can rewatch your sermons whether I’m sick or out of town. I always find I needed to hear what you have to say every week. I truly thank the lord every day for bringing me to this wonderful church with such a great loving and honest pastor.

Jim, you're the best. Who else would illustrate with an antique cootie? The precious stories of ministry in Mexico are very moving and should inspire us all.
Rev 18:23 And the Light (JESUS) of a candle shall shine (Word of the Spirit) no more at all in thee; and the voice of the Bridegroom (JESUS) and of the bride (Fellowship/Prayers) shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men (Big Pharma…) of the earth; for by thy sorceries (Drugs/Witchcraft) were ALL nations deceived (Seduced). Pharmakeia “SORCERIES” From G5332; medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): - sorcery, witchcraft. Aborted fetal cells = Abomination to the Most High God Nano Technology = controlled by 5G RNA = No longer human (as in the days of Noah)
