It’s common sense. In order to cut Fed must increase money supply. That spikes inflation. Bond holders then require higher yield on long term bonds which will cause long term rates to go up, while the fed is dropping short term rates. The fed obviously knows economics and knows this. But, their purpose is to save a dying economy at the expense of higher long term rates, until the collapse happens - in other words the rate cuts are designed to “kick the can down the road” at the expense of a worse collapse. The final conclusion can only be that this is a controlled collapse, engineered as the great economic reset with the participants being the fed, well for me tho Bitcoin is the ultimate defence against a tyrannical government.r.....I've been engaged in active trading and managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 24Bitcoin....I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

Most people respect or love the talk simply because they agree with the speaker or they are impressed with the speakers credentials. None of that applies to me. The reason I respect what Mr. Ted Oakley is selling, because yes, in a way, everyone who is interviewed is selling his ideas, is because I have lived what he preaches. If you buy someone's ideas then you come to believe them, and your belief system will be incredibly difficult if not impossible to change. Change will come when you've lost most of your life savings. I was not fortunate to have someone like Mr. Oakley to guide me when I started investing at the the age of 32. I come from a poor family, parents were factory, minimum wage workers, and all that. I started reading book after book, then made my first stock purchase. This was before Kmart went bankrupt for the 2nd time, and against my 2nd wife's advise & bought a bunch of its stock. In a couple months I made $60K. My intent was to preserve my purchasing power because by then I noticed that prices normally double every 12 to 15 yrs. My head was in the clouds but I was searching for a way of keeping my profits forever. Incidentally that was $60K in 1990's dollars not 2024 dollars .LOL.. I wanted to put all my winnings, yes (lucky) winnings in gold coins. As I read more books on gold, I began to be sold on gold. And my belief system started to change as well, why gold coins. Little by little my belief changed. I bought gold mining shares, and within months I lost $27K. So you see when Mr. Ted Oakley says gold Co. shares are for trading and gold coins are for investing you better believe it. But most of all be very careful in what you believe in. For example, you most likely believe Elon Musk is in the automobile business. I don't believe it, I am sure he has some good automobile managers running the business, but the last time I read anything about Elon Musk, he was proposing getting something like a $50+ billion paycheck from Tesla, or should I say from the Tesla shareholders when he sells his shares. I realized he is really in the stock business not the auto business. I want to make clear I am not a stock trader, my investments run similar to Mr. Ted Oakley, but I had to learn the hard way, no stock training. My work life lasted a grand total of 25Yrs. I currently live (15yrs). in a gated community in Florida and spend part year at my house (48yrs.) in the WASHINGTO D.C. area. I have sold my house (of 14yrs.) located in the L.A. area.

Government is the main reason for inflation. To much money in the money supply. Just look at the Fed balance sheet 7.2 TRILLION dollars still on that balance sheet. Great for the ultra rich, sad for middle class.😢

I think Ted and company are spot on that the economy is slowed more than we think and its being masked by an AI revolution in a very narrow set of companies with large market cap. Popular business media is being skewed by election year thinking and no one talking about physical policy and US debt and dollar outlook. All anyone want to talk about is interest rates and inflation which has a cumulative effect on costs and dividing the "middle class further. really sobering times and not the roaring market of the past.

No rate cuts!! Rate cuts are not in the best interests of the people. Rates are not too high where they are, prices are too high. Any cut now is WAY too soon. I believe rates should never fall below 5% in a properly managed economy, and never below inflation. Consumers and the economy need more than just a slowing of inflation. We need deflation to bring prices down to reasonable levels so all Americans can better participate in the economy, and we need these and higher rates to help retired people especially earn income without having to risk in the markets. Sustaining economic activity right now should not be the primary concern. We should stop rash moves to bail out the rich and do what is right for most of us long-term. We need a recession, and we need to let deflation do and finish its work. There is no good long-term reason to lower rates better than leaving them where they are. They are where they should be in a healthy economy. The economy is struggling at these "normal" rates because the economy is sick and grossly mismanaged. Lower rates mostly serve Wall Street and the rich. Lower rates generally won't help people buying a home because the home sellers will raise the price of the home in response to the lower rates. They will sell it for as much as they can trying to max out the payment that you can make! Lower rates won't benefit most Americans. Lower rates mean higher prices for everything bought on time immediately, and more inflation on everything else long-term. Housing and other big-ticket items like cars are too high already because of rates being way too low for too long and mostly only benefiting one out of ten people, and inflationary government spending. Prices need to come DOWN not go further up. We need a massive reset in the economy along with common sense policy and culture changes! We also need massive cuts on government spending and an end to wasting Americans dollar resources, and we need NO MORE BAILOUTS of poorly managed companies. Bribes and collusion among government and the rich which is abusing America's dollar resources must be stopped. No more destructive uses of our resources and NO rates cuts. The markets and the economy need a major readjustment that only deflation and reduced spending can bring about! Inflation and a wildly over-spending government that has to then pay interest on the debt will destroy the dollar! Eventually inflation will rise above (I think it already has at least for a couple of years) what interest the Fed can pay on its notes WITHOUT printing more money and then we will be finally heading into a crisis that will bring on severe poverty. Inflation and overspending are the real threats to our livelihoods. The Fed SHOULD NOT take its foot off the neck of inflation by lowering the rates. Rather than lowering rates the government should start lowering spending into a range it can support WITHOUT printing more money! If these steps are not taken SOON we are going to lose our prosperity. When the dollar finally plummets in that scenario there may be another currency that comes in and existing currencies would be merged into that new currency somehow. That won't be a positive, it will be a negative in terms of the principles America was founded on.

The Federal reserve is doing EXACTLY the right thing... but only when you realize who they really serve. They serve the oligarchy class that own our political class. The federal reserve does not serve the citizens. The goal is to continue to blow bubbles to transfer assets to the owners of this country. Please vote accordingly and good luck!

In the midst of this whole wacky world when I need a shot of some good financial common sense, I just tune in Ted. Fantastic guest in Mr. McDonald! I'm going to get his book. Scariest part of what was talked about for me was when the government finally admits that inflation is higher than they can pay in interest, and hyper-inflation gets out of control.

Unless one is picking actual Stocks, and unless one is 100% (or so) in the S&P/Nasdaq it has a bearing, but so much. A typical Mutual Fund like: Vanguard Wellington- a 60/40 portfolioi is still down since end of 2021 till today (about 9%) A Vanguard Total Stock Market fund is up about 8%. Meanwhile Cash (various instruments) are up about 10+% Gold is up about 17% And even if you were S&P you’re up about 15% It’s “picking up Dimes in front of the steamroller” All that Risk for not enough Return to warrant the risk! Cash is King for now, and every King needs a Gold Crown.
