I am not sure why Kangaroos are the only animals mentioned as Bandicoots i believe are a resident of the coastline along most of the east coast of Aus & they are also the main Tick carriers which then spread Q fever throughout the animal kingdom bringing the disease into most rural ppl's backyards. When i contracted it in 2000-1 on the Sunshine coast hinterland it was during drought & i had not only kangaroos coming on to my property looking for food & water, but also dozens of bandicoots & which some were actually dying because they were totally covered with the paralysis tick. They are classed as a rodent & what do you think they use to do research testing on to develop things like the vaccine, yep rodents. Infact birds & most animals including domestic pets will contract the disease bringing it into the home even. The Qld government is the worst for denial about this disease because they are more concerned about industry reputation & not only the meat & livestock, but also including international tourism if it was known just how easy it is to catch this disease & we are the collateral damage for the revenue made from those industries they are protecting. #Justsaying I have just survived with chronic Q fever for 20 yrs & will die from it well before what my time should be & have researched it worldwide for last 15 yrs.
