This may shock some BUT I prefer Hammet's Continental Op to Chandler's Marlowe. ! The whole Sir Galahad act which is Marlowe's shtick gets irritating after a while . He acts more like a candidate for the priesthood than a mean streets private dick. ! Even the incessant wisecracks became formulaic in his later stuff. Hammett's plotting was much tighter too. Chandler's convoluted plots just fall apart if you try to figure them out.. Try " the Lady in the Lake " for example...??
For over a decade, this song was a happy little tune because it reminded me of childhood. I use to jump off a shed in one of our paddocks - something my Dad said he use to do. My dad is now gone, so is Guy Clark. My Dad and I use to play this song as a duo. What I would do to go back in time to hear him sing this with me again. Whilst this song was once a happy tune, it's now a sad reminder of a life I once had with my Dad. How am I supposed to live forever when my heroes cannot?
Love the stories & delivery, but the ambient noise makes it very hard to hear. The majority of people living to-day are of an age to have at least some hearing loss. Hope you can afford to record elsewhere. Thank you for using a microphone. Thank you for the story.
I love the series with Duncan Renaldo. He was a great Cisco, and Pancho was so funny, he had me laughing out loud all the time.I wish we had characters in today's shows who were so compassionate and wise. I watch this over and over.
