I like dolls and terrible(amazing) slasher movies from the 70s-00s. I collect Shadow/Rainbow High, Monster High, American Girl and Friends of Barbie! octoberpoppets@gmail.com
Thanks so much for participating! Your custom Claudie was my favorite by far. I love the way that peachy color pops against her hair and her black clothing items!
I still have Looks dolls from the second wave to unbox, but this one did catch my eye when I originally saw the photographs. I think they changed her outfit slightly from those pictures. I may still get her, but I should probably try and catch up with some of the ones I already have first.
I definitely think you’re right about the outfit changing a bit. There’s still two I’m interested in from that second wave but they’re a little too pricey for what they are on Amazon here right now
I keep thinking about getting him but am always like- maybe not for that price lol usually means i just shouldn’t but maybe if he goes for cheap enough of a sale…
Am visiting from the Doll Coven! Great video! I have yet to decide whether or not to jump on the bandwagon of Defa Lucy I’m already down a bunch of doll rabbit holes lol but she is a beautiful doll! ❤
I also got my Storm Twins a couple of weeks ago when the price dipped slightly on Amazon, and I love them. I did have to shampoo their hair. I tried to jiggle the bubblegum but it was stuck fast, and I left it alone for fear of breaking it off.
I didn't care for Rosie, unfortunately; facially, she gives me Queen Elizabeth I (not yours so much, but pictures of others). I did buy her to steal her stuff. 😬 Badly rooted, poor quality, or thin hair is a huge disappointment for me too and it's happened to me a couple of times.
I also think the Pacific Coast line is one of the best, in regards to original characters and beautiful dolls, even though I'm not into swimwear. I've got them all except for Hali and the boy doll.
I love your story for them!! I think it’s so cute and totally not weird!! Story telling isn’t super popular in the hobby atm but we can still do it!! ❤️ I love Vaughn and the reasons for her name!! ❤️ (I thought I commented but I also might’ve forgotten to actually post it!)
Aww sorry you’re sick!! I adore the backstory you’ve given the dolls. Is it a little weird? Maybe. Can i judge? Literally no lol personally i think it’s a totally logical thing to do for dolls that don’t come with their own actual story but im also the person who gave my drag persona an entire detailed backstory that literally does not matter and no one else knows but me. But it makes things more fun so like, let’s live our lives lol hope you feel better soon! ❤
Release Teresa. Freeeeeeeee herrrrrrr! jk do what you want but i fully support it. My rule is that if i think i will ever resell a doll then I’ll keep it in the box, but my other rule is that if im buying it with the thought that I’ll ever resell it then do i actually want to spend the money in the first place. So all of my dolls are unboxed lol i do keep the boxes for ones that are special so i can display them with it but otherwise everyone is freed from their tiny cardboard prisons 😂
Lol, I love that approach! For now she's definitely stuck as a cardboard prison inmate because I love how she looks in the box, but if I'm being honest with myself - she will be coming out at some point!
New subscriber oh my god I love your channel we share similar content awesome video. 👌🏾 💛❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🧡🧡💜🩵🩶 cant wait to see more of your videos and collection.
I ended up deciding Teresa looked way too good in the box for me to take her out! I'm hoping to finish up with my Evette this weekend, so I ~should~ have the video up this coming week 😄
She is so gorgeous! Congratulations on your first AG doll and joining the community! I was recommended to your channel by @americangirlfilms in her 2023 rewind video!
I love these goals!! They’re so similar to my personal goals!! ❤️❤️ I totally get what you mean about being afraid of negativity! It took me 4 months to convince myself to create a doll Instagram! I did it last night, and it’s way better than I imagined!! You too can conquer your social fears ❤️
That's awesome, I'll totally give you a follow on there! Thank you for the encouragement, it's been really good for me since starting to do videos and confronting these fears - so, fingers crossed that 2024 will bring more progress!
Thanks for sharing your collection goals. I would also enjoy trying to sew for my dolls. I am hoping to get a sewing machine at some point. When I have some time I may try some hand sewing. Crafting for dolls seems like a fun thing to do. I like that you want to be more involved in the doll community. I understand your feelings about social anxiety. It takes courage to do this! Great job. 🤗
Thank you! I have definitely gottten less anxious about it as I've made more videos. The first few I got really nervous after posting. Sewing for the dolls has been a lot of fun, I hope you can find a sewing machine that you like! I wish I was better at hand sewing because it's nice to put on a video and do it to relax.
I completely share your feelings on Rainbow High - I believe that the vast majority of adult collectors feel the same way. I would also like to be more creative with my dolls, I have previously knitted for mine but definitely want to try and make dresses for them, at the moment I have everything I need (sewing machine, tons of fabric, a few patterns) now I just need to do it! I've been making videos for a few years now and the only bad comment I ever got was from a kid who said that one of my videos was bad because I talked too much! Which I kind of felt was funny, despite obviously being outraged about it too.
Kind of disappointed about the Rainbow High stuff, but hopeful that maybe they'll get some kind of Monster High G3 reboot in the future. Getting critiqued for talking too much in a youtube video is pretty wild but I'm glad to know you haven't had any bad experiences with comments - definitely helps me feel better!
It was fun watching you open up Barbies from your Grandmother. I laughed when you pulled out the “Random piece of lace”. My grandmother used to wear one like that to church as a head covering! Your childhood doll is very cute. Have fun fixing her up. 😃
I asked her and she doesn’t recall putting it in the box, so the mystery endures but I don’t think DeWalt has dipped their toes into lace manufacturing (yet). They’ve been lots of fun to clean up so far
Claudie is a favourite in my collection. You did a great job customizing her. When I first saw her I thought of Prince because of the curly hair side do and the collar up gave me that retro vibe. Maila is a nice name. Well done. Enjoy!
You did a great job on Maila! I collect several different lines of dolls, but currently I'm obsessed with American Girl. I love to clean them up and tighten limbs, and do the hair, but I'm terrified of trying to paint the face! I'm going to do it though. I have all my supplies, It's time to just go for it.
I have loved Stevie Nicks since the first time I heard Rhiannon on the radio in 1975! I can't believe they took this long to make a Barbie Version of her. I love her too. I haven't taken her out of the box yet, but I can't wait to fix her hair! Nice video, you seem super sweet. Subscribed.😊
