Hello everyone and welcome to my channel. I am mostly focused on outdoor videos, product reviews, camping, boating and adventuring the outdoors. I live in FL and I am slowly turning this state into my personal playground 8-)
@adventurelover6955 Hangkai makes an 18hp that is around 80 pounds. That is the lightest I have seen for the power. It is actually a 15hp Yamaha clone, so it's not an 18hp.
@@ErickMartinSucre I am writing you from Turkey :) We dont have that brand here. We have Honda, Yamaha, Mercury and Tohatsu. Lightest I have seen is Tohatsu and Honda 20HP short shaft, both 43kgs.
You'll see some parts are for the 4-stroke model. Be sure to purchase the 2-stroke model parts when needed. The main parts you may need are spark plugs, impeller kits and propellers.
Thanks for the video man. I have a 6 hp on my 12 foot and I am experiencing some porpoising. I’m thinking about driving it from the center of the boat to put more weight forward. Do you think that may help? Also, my propeller is a little bit low in the water.
Great video. I had also messaged you about the hangkai 12 hp. I’ve decided on the sd415 because I don’t want the extra weight of the 1.2mm pvc. I do however want the fishing rod holders. How would I buy and attach the base and the actual holder to this boat? Can I order this boat from factory with rod holders attached? Thanks !!
Awesome video! I have been researching inflatables like true kit, Achilles, and Saturn. I really wanted welded seams so I’m looking at the upgraded versions and I really like this 415. I am curious though about the 12 hp being equivalent to a namebrand at 9.9 hp, do you know why they brand this as a 12 hp instead of a 9.9? Does it truly make the 9.9 hp or do you think they achieve the 12 hp in the same clone body? Thanks!
If they sell it as a 9.8hp, it will trigger certain laws, and they can't sell them. The 12hp Hangkai is a Tohatsu 9.8hp 2-stroke model with identical parts.
I just ordered a 12hp and paid $745 shipped to me. I’ll mainly be using this motor 10-20 times a year. I couldn’t justify spending $2500-3000 for a name brand outboard.
I ordered one on Saturday, and it arrived today. Paid $849 + $60 for shipping on Amazon. Greased the prop shaft, filled the lower with gear oil, hooked up the fuel tank and it started on the 4th pull. Started pumping water within seconds. I can't wait to get it out on the water. So far I'm very happy with it.
I think I paid 1k at the time for mine, and I still am happy with it. So far it has performed flawlessly. It look like as long as you use the correct fuel/oil mixtures, grease up the joints and flush it after every use, this little outboard will last as long as any other outboard.
I really appreciate you posting all these videos , like mowt of us here ive spent hours onnthe boats to go site going through all the inflatables and im currently undecided on what to get the 13.8 or the sd330w, any lthing in the works to review the sd330wide?
@@ErickMartinSucre I 100% will use your link, I really appreciate the info, it's hard to visualize the boats just looking at their site so your videos are a big help in the decision making process
Disappointed and Frustrated - Poor Product and Even Worse Customer Service I had high expectations for this product, but unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. After purchasing, I realized the product was burnt and unusable. I immediately contacted customer support, hoping they would resolve the issue. However, despite several follow-ups, they failed to provide any solution or even respond adequately. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I feel like I’ve been ripped off. I would not recommend this product or the company-terrible quality and even worse customer service.
Hey Eric! Put the plastic piece on the strap first, then loop the D-Ring then back through the plastic buckle piece. Similar to a backpack. This will prevent it from slipping when you apply pressure to the backrest. 👍
Because it sit on top kayak, and not designed for standing, 4-5psi is more than enough for that kayak. Back rest does not have to be hard. It can be semi soft. In fact, softer it is, more it can recline.
Hey your vids are awesome and informative. I have the exact same rig engine and boat and stand. My gear lever handle came broken do you have a good source for a replacement.
Hey brother, nice video! I'm looking for something to putt around with in a lagoon with an electric motor. This looks perfect! How is the customer service with BoatsToGo? Also I heard if you put a noodle (like you have) down the center of the boat length-wise under the inflatable floor it acts as a makeshift keel and helps with stability and handling. Happy boating! 🤙
That sounds great! This model should get the job done. If something happens with the boat, boatstogo responds back when you send them a request. The makeshift keel will help a little bit when dealing with some swells. Always use precaution when handling rough waters. Keel or not, nothing beats common sense. If you happen to buy, please use my link since it helps me a ton, thanks 8-) alnk.to/610zQwo
My atvs exhaust absolutely melted that wrap. first it got white and then fused into a glass mess. i guess its less than 500 cc only. I made metal heat shields around the exhaust instead.
I painted the pipe with an engine enamel spray can, and then wrapped it. Mine is a 700+ with the big bore kits and it holds. I wonder why yours burned up.
Ive seen reviews on some cheaper ones online and they say they turn white right away after a few uses. Then theres better quality ones that never change color or quality. Mabey its just the one you used that was bad
@ErickMartinSucre, thank you for answering my question. I will definitely use your link when I buy one of these boats. Now, I need to be realistic about lugging around 150+ lbs from the truck to the ramp. I own a fishing kayak that only weighs 120 lbs fully loaded, and I swear every time I load it to the truck after a fishing trip. 😁
Hey Eric it’s me again I have a question to my Saturn say tibes should be at 3’6 psi amd keel at 5.8 so my SaturnSD 488 has 5 chambers so should all the chamber be at 3.6 amd the keel at 5.8 amd I have the over inflated valve to I mean my Tiber are hard bit on the water it seeema to bend a little I’m not sure on if I fill one tube up does it put air in the other one s up any information would help should I tak most the air up amd put air in the side tubes them the front tube till the pressure release valves pits a little air pout thme I’ll know the boat is up to it’s full potential thank I’m planning to go out again this weekend but whamt ot make sure it’s up to all the air yes I use the psi on my machine to
A rip all the boats you have you need to fish now to make the video a more exciting lol I fosh a lot for thresher big bat rays all that in the ocean mine doesn’t have those on my Saturn. Crap lol guess I gott add them thanks for the tip now I’ll do this
@@ErickMartinSucre hey so I just figured out I order the heavy duty Saturn 16 ft with alum floor not relaxing it did not come with the extra protection lole the tritons they sell fishing one I thought I order that one I guess I was wrong so mine is ok but when they say heavy duty Saturn 16 ft they should put the extra protection on the bottom lole there triont fishing boats I read it wrong when I orders the boat so my mistake for a extra 200 dollars could have got the better one but I’ll keep trying to make this better for fishing can’t afford a lot of upgrades but maybe a couple of upgrades see if you can do a couple more ocean videos tho lol soon as I get my 25 hp outboard motor I’ll OG father out amd post have a good day
The only bad thing about this company is they never send a manufacture statement of orgin or bill of sale with the outboard. I live in Misouri and the outboard has to be registered seperate from the boat. It's been 3 months and still can't get the documentation needed to tile the outboard
Just an extra tip spray the whole damn motor down after ever single use with corrosion inhibitor you can get it at ace, Home Depot, ext. I’ve noticed significantly less salt build up!
Bro love your videos they've been a big help. I have the hangkai 18 on a jon boat currently but you make inflatables look so fun im getting one. Aqua Marina Aircat which is very similar to this boat. Planning on standing up with a tiller extension and potentially a DIY grab bar. Your joy is contagious!
People buy anything made in china due to budget constraints. If you have a deep pocket, do whatever you want, but don’t bash anything from China just because you have bad luck with your purchases. It’s true Quality comes with a price, but sometimes if you’re lucky, the quality comes with low cost also with some of the products from China.
I bought the 6 hp motor and just got through the break in period. Now I can switch to 50:1 gas. The 6 HP is a copy of a 5 HP Mercury, Tohatsu or Nissan, which all are very solid. Hopefully the 6 HP will be solid for years to come. These are nice as a trolling motor for fishing and it does the job well. May have to upgrade to a 12 hp in the future. Although I've always wanted to get a Yamaha outboard, but a little pricy right now.
Maybe, I've done it, but you'll likely have to tune down your prop. For example, my 6hp Tohatsu came with a 7.8x8 prop and I changed it to a 7.8x7 prop instead. That sacrificed top speed but gave me more torque.
Glad to see the far view of SD415. I just realized the interior length is not much different from my Mars PSM365, 9’3” vs 9’1”. SD415 is 2’ longer but gives similar interior space. I don’t know why boatstogo stopped selling Mars PSM365 boat. Or why they don’t sell more boats with round cones instead of pointed ones. Thank you for the video!
Minimum, 15hp, 20hp preferred. I use a 12hp Hangkai and that motor could probably get 2-3 ppl on plane. For 5 ppl, maybe an 18hp Hangkai "Budget option", or any main brand "Suzuki, Yamaha, Tohatsu, Mercury, Honda" 20hp. If you choose the Hangkai, keep in mind that this model is a direct clone of the Yamaha 15hp 2-stroke outboard. amzn.to/3Mtj5YU
Typically inflatable boats are hard to get up to substantial speed. On fuel consumption you can get a 2.5 gallon standard fuel can and premix fuel so you don't run out of fuel. Looks like beautiful area and possibly good fishing. 73 Earnest K5EWM.
@@ErickMartinSucre I hear you. Here in Southeast Texas, camping is fun too, with 1 major drawback. (.Mosquitoes), that will haul you off. LoL. Im planning on getting the 18 hp version with the short tail shaft as my boat has the short transom. Enjoy both the camping and your new Hankai outboard. 73 and GOD bless, Earnest K5EWM. PS those islands would make great location for amateur radio hf portable setup. The solitude from electrical interference 👍. Also the water would give your tx signal an incredible positive performing bounce (reflection upward into the inonaspere ((heavens to reflect back downward in other parts of the world)) ). Real DX. 73 Earnest K5EWM.
The foil will help with cavitation of the prop. Way back when ; many moons ago. Outboards ran normally on 25:1 oil gas mix. Motors have improved over the years and EPA requirements demand 50:1 on 2 stroke engines. The Chinese are good at copying whatever. Why spend money to design, just copy; seems to be the China way of life. I have thought about getting one myself to use with my dads old aluminum jon boat for fishing on the lake. Boats and motors have gotten insane expensive nowadays. Running higher oil mix for break-in will definitely make differense with the life of the motor. 73 Earnest K5EWM 👍
