Great tutorial! Definetly the easiest so far to follow. One question though, if anyone has an answer for me. Iwas always told sewing at the edge of the fabric like that will cause it to get caught and jam the machine. I did that once when sewing a pad and that was what happened. Why does your sewing machine not jam?
Might be a bit late to the party, but I am looking into buying this one,,,, how does it perform with jeans?? I tend to do a lot of corsage with thicker fabrics, how you had a chance to play with denim, corduroy or suede?? Loooove your humour btw :D
I made a tent bag back in the summer using really heavy duty cotton canvas and it worked beautifully! Just set the needle speed a little slower than you would for other fabrics and you should be fine.
This truly is the BEST video on making these. I can’t wait to make them. Thank you for exact directions & no extra nonsense gabbing. You had everything prepared for this video & all us ladies appreciated that! You got right to the point & it seemed easier to make than all the other vids. I have a really weird question & couldn’t find the same question in all the other comments & this is very important … I love hot food & just wondering if I can put these is the microwave with my plate of hot food for a short time just to heat it. 100% cotton but have you tried putting these cozies in the microwave with your plate of hot food? 😊 I think you said we could in another video but I’m just confirming if they were the same batting. 🤷🏻♀️ Beautiful fun vid to watch, any of the ladies complaining about your music just ignore them! Your background music was quiet, light & no weird words, we could hear you very well when you described exact details. Thanks (please answer my question if you have time 😊) otherwise I can ask someone at fabric store I guess. I’m just wondering if you’ve tried it, I’m sure you can, you’re the expert!♥️take care♥️
Thank you so much for your wonderful and kind comment! I really appreciate it! The cosy is absolutely fine for putting in the microwave for a short time so long as you use only 100% natural materials. This includes; 100% cotton thread, 100% cotton fabric (but I've used fleece and it has worked absolutely fine) and a natural Bamboo or cotton batting. Make sure you don't use any metal threads or cottons that have a metallic print on them. I have used synthetic fibres in the microwave for short bursts (2 mins max) and have never had a problem at all.
Yes you absolutely could. I preferred mine to have a "crisper" edge which is why I did it this way, but you can turn it inside out and it would work perfectly well too. x
You know, I think it probably would. Take care of the plastic edge this as cut up plastic bottles can be sharp. I would recommend putting wash or masking tape over the cut edges otherwise it may cut the stitching over time.
I love how you explain this so simply with the items we already have in our basic crafting supplies. The video footage is direct and easy to see. Thank you. FOLLOWING
😮❤lo haces con tanta facilidad ❤❤. No hablo inglés pero así como lo explicaste con tus manos, espero poder hacerlo , es un nuevo reto para mí. Después te platico como me salió. Saludos desde León Guanajuato México❤❤
I’ve made hundreds as gifts and stocking stuffers. I made a cardboard template from a cereal box that allows me to draw the darts on each fabric half after the corner to corner stitch is made. So much easier than measuring and marking each 4 darts otherwise everything else shown in your video is the same. Add a matching fabric loop. I make the Coozies in different sizes and matching fabrics for those people who want them to coincide with their cooking and serving dishes! Big bowls need protection too!
