Heath Ledger is unbeatable as the Joker. Jared leto was the second best but most peoples didnt understood his role thats a shame. Since Jared Leto and heath ledger and Joaqin phoenix are all the same in the same story arc. The thing is: Joaqin Phoenix played the role who created the idea of the Joker he was an adult as Bruce wayne was a child. Heath ledger picked up the idea of the joker and is basicly the joker. That comic joker that have no history and diffrent backstories..... And finally Jared Leto is the Joker that have been Robin before .... But the idea of the joker is that he is not imortal he have no powers rather then beeing an unkillable idea that ressurect himself by beeing an legendary idea.

The jokers philosophy makes sense. Everybody has a breaking point. if enough things in your life fall apart you will start hating the world, why love a world that has caused you so much suffering. The joker probably understands the nature of reality more profoundly than anyone else in this universe. The only answer to such a view may be to cultivate boundless compassion for all beings - Everybody suffers to some extent or the other, so we must generate compassion towards everybody (The Batman embodies this to a certain extent by devoting his life to protect the people of Gotham. The joker misses this point and is too focused on trying to validate that what happened to him can happen to anyone. In other words he just want to prove that the world is just like him because to think otherwise would mean that he is weaker than everybody else. The Joker took whatever happened to him in the past too personally)
