I wouldn't recommend using charcoal with additives it may have adverse effects on the plant. Opt for lump charcoal or briquettes without the fast light option 😊
@Lobo47478 Cross contamination happens when a surface hasn't been properly sanitized after cleaning or handling raw poultry, meat, or seafood. It's important to disinfect all utensils & countertops after the preparation of uncooked foods before putting fruits or veggies in that same spot.
@@cecilyonpoint oh,I know I’ve worked in the food industry for quite a bit.what I meant was,I’ve read on line about this particular method but they don’t explain as to how? I wash my lines and lemons with water and baking soda and I’m always trying new ways to store but’ve never tried this yet.I was just asking because of what I came across.thank you!😊
Love the video Cecily! There’s so much disinformation and over analyzing with cast iron online it’s nice to see a concise display and more simplicity. You should post this video to cast iron forums online because people would go crazy 😂😂 keep up the good content!
@evanmadson wow, I really appreciate your input. Thanks so much! But I'm not familiar with what "cast iron forums" you're referring to. Could you share more info about that?

@djC653 Sorry about that, I wish there was a way to adjust that on my end. I'm going to be trying out a new microphone, so hopefully that will help & be better. I appreciate you letting me know about the volume
@@cecilyonpoint There's a lot of ways to do this. It's like asking how to make a martini. Cast iron is durable, a lot men use it , cowboys have the most experience 🤪🤠
You just made me realize that baked ziti is a "Power plate" and hits all the major food groups marinara for vegetables pasta for grain cheese for calcium and protein😂
You don't have to scrub at all. Get your skillet hot enough before you pour eggs in and it will NOT stick at all. No matter what skillet you use. Try it!
@LisaGWoods I absolutely will! Thanks for the tip! Input is always welcomed! I'm also just showing what to do when you "Don't " get that pan hot enough.☺️
@@cecilyonpoint of course I have grown kids I'm still trying to get this down. After all they've watched me and their gma do this for yrs. So I still scrub eggs out from time to time. Lol. Have a beautiful day!
No this is not how to season a cast iron pan. And never never never never never never use a paper towel because you will leave lint residue from the paper. You always want to use a lint-free cloth. You may not see the lint from the paper immediately But continuing to use paper towel will gradually build up this type of paper lint and Infuse it within the oil. That is not recommended
@@cecilyonpoint right, those 2 oils are extremely inflammatory raising oxidized LDL in the blood, the “bad” cholesterol. I’m trying to cut all toxins out of my food, seed oils being at the top of the list in addition to plastics and Teflon in cooking pots.
No smoke = no seasoning. After every use and after cleaning what I do is get out a "whole" no lint shop paper towel put a tablespoon of the cheapest canola oil that I can find and using a pair of tongs make sure that there is a clear and smooth surface all over the entire surface. When you see wisps of smoke that is when you should stop and let the pan cool down on it's own. A quick rule of thumb is No Smoke means no seasoning. I do this after every time I use my cast iron. In the beginning I do the outside too but after the first 4 or 5 times that seasoning is baked on and I concentrate on the inside of my pans as every time that you cook and clean the inside some seasoning gets pulled off.
