Asbo-bloomin'-lutely it is! Privately owned phyiscal gold is something tangible that one can hold in one's physical possession and trade for fiat currency when necessary. Bitcoins are just numbers on a Blockchain. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies cannot be spent as easily as fiat currency; Ma and Pa stores are unlikely to accept them. Their practical use is questionable. There have been instances of people losing their digital encryption keys and digital wallets, and hacking of exchanges. And being decentralised means there is no central government or bank one can approach to regain access to cryptocurrency. I see it as nothing more than a fad and impractical in the real world.

My father worked there. I was able to go inside because I was so young. Maybe 4 years old at the time. I remember seeing gold bars in the vault and got to hold one. My dad has a replica gold bar made out of lead but has the fort Knox imprint on it. It's the same size and weight as the real thing. My older sister was 10 years old wasn't allowed in ,they were super strict. Honestly as only one of the few who has ever been inside I feel blessed.
