Thanks, I found one on RU-vid. a 1956 White Healey 100 with the strap I was talking about . I said it was in the 1960's but it must have been in the 1950's . Anyway, the one on RU-vid is identical to the one I remember.
Very nice car. In the early 1960's a relative of of mine bought a new Austin Healey It 'twas white and I couldn't tell you what year it was but he bought it new. I've never seen this on a Healey before but the car came with a leather strap that went over the hood (bonnet) i remember it was thick and had a buckle. Anyone ever seen one like that?
Thanks! It probably was an early Austin Healey 100/4 or a rare 100M, they came with a leather strap. Google Austin Healey 100/4 or 100M to see which car it was.
What fool made this video, whoever did obviously knows nothing about cars. The Big Healey was and always will be about the sound of that exhaust and look of the car. To replace the music of that engine with some crappy pop song is sacrilege. You should be ashamed of yourself whoever you are
Dam.....wanted to hear the sounds of my old 60 Heely BN7 and all I got was a woman singing a song that has nothing to do with my memories. Just saying …...
Re: all comments about the background music: without it you would have heard only windnoise which was much louder than the sound of the wonderful three litre engine.
I too like the sound of this make of car, but I cannot agree with some of the comments that the music spoils the video. I consider the choice of track is appropriate for the drive. I just wish I owned one of these great cars. But preferably in right hand drive for my country. This video has inspired me to listen to tracks from this artist.
We were in Cornwall in '98 for the Healey meet celebrating DMH's 100th birthday. Did you happen to be there ? Healeys from all over Europe came. Wish I could have had our car there.
Nice video. I have been driving my 66 BJ8 since 1972. I would never think of selling it !! My mom was born in England and met my dad in WWII. I have a England family and some day would love to drive my Healey in Europe. Cheers from Ohio, USA.
absolutely lovely. One day I'd like to own one. For now though, my Mk1 Mazda MX5 helps me stand apart from the faceless legions of mom-mobile SUVs and bloated sedans. And with its newly re-worked stainless headers and exhaust it sounds a lot like one of these old sportscars.
