Thank you susie. I honestly still can’t get over the fact I got them, and for free! I got the pots from primark, they are £1 each (bargain!) and they have a selection on colours. I just drilled some holes in the bottoms for drainage.😩

Hi Lucia enjoyable vid as always, and it's always great when you can eat your own fruit and veg that you have grown from seed, just something special about that, also for your pumpkins, marrows, and courgettes in fact any veg that grows along the ground, to stop them from rotting, put some straw underneath them to keep them clear of the ground, and after you've harvested them the straw can go into the compost heap to rot down ready for next year.
@LuciasAllotmentJourney
@LuciasAllotmentJourney 3 дня назад
Last year I attracted some little friends using straw 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 so would rather not do the same this year. But Thabk you mark.

Hello Lucia, I do enjoy your channel. You have such an infectious happy attitude and fun excitement level. Your plot is so tidy and well organized. I am so excited by the free finds and the DIY fix-ups!! I am 61 year old man in the US Minnesota zone 4. I grew up from the age of 10 bringing home bicycles and lawn mowers that I found on the curb broken not working. I had no father and the neighbor man help me learn about fixing bikes and school taught me small engine class. I started fixing them up with parts I would buy or use from one onto another and then sell them all in the spring I was 12 then. Later I found a love of old vintage and antique items esp furniture. I began to look for free furniture items and bought some at garage sales and auctions and such. Vintage chairs, bedroom sets, end tables, coffee tables dining room hutches display cases ect. I would refinish them, or paint them or paint and distress them. Eventually I had my own shop and had the best time ever. Now I just do one or two at a time and sell them on market place or craigslist ect. So for me to see your wonder and excitement does make me so happy and hopeful to know folks in the future will share my passion and find their own successes. I am enjoying how you mix in a bit of this into your gardening channel. Thank you for this video peace and blessings, Steven

@LuciasAllotmentJourney
@LuciasAllotmentJourney 12 дней назад
For the crumble topping: 250g plain flour 150g Butter ( I do salted or unsalted, as depend what I have in at the time.) 50g Caster sugar Filling: 3 apples peeked and cored A small tub or blackberries, around 150-200g Half a juice of lemon 1 tea spoon of vanilla extract 2 teaspoons of caster sugar I simmer in a pan for about 5 mins max. Once added to a dish and crumble mix on top, I finish off with a good sprinkle of brown sugar. Preheat the oven and cook on 180 oC /gas mark 4 for 25 mins.

Hi Lucia recently found your channel and enjoying your journey on the allotment, I don't have an allotment as my house was built during the forties so has what's known as an allotment garden, so the back garden is 175ft long and 25ft wide, so plenty of room to grow my own fruit n veg, but if I wanted an allotment the waiting list of the village I live in, in Oxfordshire is so long I'd probably be in my 70s before I got a plot, As for the uploads its your channel so upload as much or as little as you want, also just wondering if you are able to upload in 1080P hd, or is your camera not able to record in HD, if not it's fine as still enjoying your vlogs.

Fantastic job on the fire pit, we can only with local government permission burn in March and Oct and only for 5 weeks 😢. All your hard work is really paying off Lucia it looks amazing. If the onions are a good size for you to,use then I’d take them up. I would do the same just cut off the damaged leaves Lucia and let them get on with it. Mine are just the same they are trying though so I’ll give them a chance. Perhaps they just assume you’ll keep doing it😢😢. Happy face 🙂 and have fun, Ali ☔️🇨🇦

Hi Linda, thank you for your comment. I don’t have the best of cameras, and still new to the whole editing thing. I was down Devon/Dorset way last month. It rained on the way down, but from the second day we were blessed with sun for the rest of the week. Then came home to rain!🤦🏻‍♀️ I honestly think it’s been a strange one this year for everyone, and it’s more a fingers crossed growing season. We have path checks every months to make sure they are cleared and maintained, me being me can’t help doing it for the girls. 🥰

Oh lord Lucia a coat again 🤦‍♀️, we got a tiny abs I do mean tiny bit of rain so I’m watering. Awesome lettuce, if you don’t need the space I’d just leave the corguette plants they may still come with some sunshine. I don’t grow pumpkins but by say end of Aug I’d just cut the end of the vine off and let the remaining pumpkins get bigger. You may have deer in the area can you borrow a trail cam? We have deer but they are kept out of my garden but a big fence. I love nigella and have loads it self seeds everywhere 👍👍. The weather is so up and down here! Not July for sure! Yesterday it was cloudy and raining all morning (the night before was worse!) and then the sun came out late afternoon. Followed by another day of rain!🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve only had to water once in just under 2 weeks. I know we have deer, I had lots over winter which I caught on my trail cam. They moved on for a while, so it looks like they are babk again. But I refuse to pay out to put a fence up…..yet!! I that to be the very last job I do, and an only if I really have too. Regarding pumpkins I would love one each for the girls to come and pick, so I really want size over quantity. I went down yesterday evening and the pumpkin plants along with the corn are looking stunning! They seem to be loving all this rain. 🎃

Hello Love, I do get a kick outta your channel. You always have a very positive outlook. You know even when we fail miserably we are still learning and growing so I always take experience as a win. The garden is all about today at one level but then for us that take yesterdays failure and reapproach it in the next effort looking for improvement is also important. Yesterday I was telling someone that all of a sudden a few plants in one spot were all being scalded by the sun and died they had been there for years doing quite well. Later in the winter as I was thinking about the problem I remembered an important causation I had overlooked. That spring two large maple trees were brought down in a storm. Without those trees to provide some relief from the sun these plants just burned up. I planted a couple bushes there and Bob's your uncle problem solved. I do enjoy your channel I was really into your reaction to your decision to plant the tri colored beans and the borlotti style beans. I was thinking to say just whack em in and then you said it. That is the mantra of Emma's Allotment Diaries I do not know if you watch her or that is your own comment. Anyway thank you for this video today Cya next thyme, Steven

Thank you Steven. I’ve learnt over the years due to other areas of my life to always try and see the positives in life, and keep myself up beat. Haha and if I can save myself £40 on not having to take my nieces to a pumpkin farm this year, and bring the to the allotment instead…..That’s one massive bonus this year.🤞🏼 I’m a massive Charles Dowding watcher, he’s my david attenborough of gardening, I really enjoy learning from him. whack em in is something I’ve picked up from my dad, we say it a lot when cooking us i involved. What’s Emma’s channel? Be nice to watch a female gardener also.
