Great Video! I got mine yesterday! UNBELIEVABLE QUALITY AND VALUE! SO WORTH $100! If anyone out there is on the fence about getting this, don't hesitate...GET IT!
I have been looking for a review of this was kind of curious what the packaging was like. FYI. This is the first time the black and white figures are released in single package form the previous release was a four pack box set which was also a Walmart exclusive interestingly. That one differed from having a reprint of issue 1 with a brand new cover by Kevin Eastman. If I recall it's also printed in like a good quality paper but I was told the wordings were someone revised to be more kid friendly. Not dumb down but some working were changed to be less violent. I didnt get a chance to compare. I wasn't sure what the behind and reprinting issue 11. It's not like it's specific to the turtles action figure look. If anything these are more of the earlier issues designs. Anyways that box that was hard to find so this is a welcoming reissue. And this time they come with collector cards
Awesome, I'm glad you found my review and really appreciate your comment! Yeah, I wasn't sure if the previous release had the same packaging, so that's good to know. I guess it was just the color version of this sculpt that had the same package design. I could definitely see them changing the text a little for issue #1 to make it more PG rated. Maybe they chose issue #11 for this release because the story isn't too violent. As far as I can tell, it's an exact reprint, aside from the Playmates advertisements. The cards are pretty cool with these guys, I just wish they used a heavier card stock for them. They're a bit flimsy.
You're right, definitely got distracted by the shiny new comic and missed some key points about the figures. Really appreciate your feedback and will do my best to cover all the bases next time!
