Sluffed off a girl who I took to an Oregon concert in Edmonton..commie city by the by...15 minutes into the concert she expressed her dislike of my favorite band at the time..1984...gave her a 20 and told her to take a taxi bitch...never saw the ignorant slut again..and loved the concert..sans a stoopid cunt...
I first heard this at 19 on acid. No coming back from that. Forged my musical tastes, I was so much further down the highway of music than most of my peers due to this one album.
I have always loved John Martyn’s music, having been introduced to hi m back in the early 80’s, by an Irish boyfriend, I saw him twice, first in London when he was a young man, and Sweet Little Mystery was one of my favorite songs, still is. Then we saw him in Nottingham, and was so shocked to realize how badly life had treated him. I cried when Ken Bruce announced his death, shortly after that concert. So heartbreakingly sad, and his music, especially Sapphire, just touches my heart. RIP John x
When i first heard this, it blew me away! My son, Billy was in the Womb and i used to play it to him, through the headphones, placing them onto his mothers stomach. He used to kick alot, but when i let him listen to this, he stopped. 💜💜💜💜💜 He's 12 now and somehow still remembers!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I saw him at Leicester circa 1980, I think it was at the Polytechnic Students Union. I'd never heard of him before. I was totally astonished at the way in which he filled the entire auditorium with sound from just one guitar. I went out the next day and bought several LP's. An amazing composer.😊 I played some to my housemates and they just didn't get it. But they were studying economics 😂 I've been a fan ever since.
