Ukraine is 2% of the Defense Budget, but it's wrapped up in the Omnibus Bill for '23. Overdue Congress got off its ass and pass the bill TODAY. The GOP will have plenty of time to sabotage the government later, then complain government doesn't work.
The US doesn't want to directly send troops (cause ain't no one getting drafted for that) so they'd just use Ukraine to fight Russia even tho it's not actually a US concern
I sincerely hope the U.S. and her Allie’s government and non-government organizations continue their support to Ukraine to the fullest till they no longer need/want it. So many killed/wounded, displaced unquestionably proud civilians with no homes to return to. I would hate to see the support diminish once the fighting is done. However, they have proven to be a force to be reckoned with and their amount of pride is unquestionable so the welcome/assistance must not be overstayed either.
Hey John, I recall you talking to leaders in our urban warfare tactics and one of the things you repeatedly mentioned was having real world combined arms assaults in urban environments. Have you been able to make a case study in this conflict on the points that you mention in your podcast on any of the engagements so far? It seems that in Kiev, blockades and three dimensional space meant to draw invaders into choke points was deployed. Knowing the urban environment was being built up seemingly encouraged Russia to disengage from Kiev, do you think such urban defense deployments could have inhibited Russian incursions in currently held areas?
