Hey Craig - just found your channel. I love the Yount rookies as its one of my favorite baseball cards. Ironically, it was just John Brockington's birthday yesterday :) Not sure if you are familiar with my channel or not but I have been working on the Packers Team HOF RC set for many years on the PSA Set Registry - Its my labor of love. I am from central WI originally so my collection definitely focuses on the WI regional sports teams. I enjoy your channel. Keep up the great conversation!
The ‘62 Topps football seems to be a sentimental favorite among football card collectors. It is a beautiful set. A lot like ‘71 Topps Baseball! Thanks for sharing!
Nice 62s Pastor Craig. Joe “The Jet” Perry was a great player. He was at one time the NFL’s all time leading rusher before Jim Brown passed him. Jimmy Patton and Pete Retzlaff have a HOF case. Retzlaff was one of the NFLs earliest tight ends and a very good pass catcher. He would have likely been a receiver in the 40s and early 50s. Take care

I love the story of the cards you submitted. It’s funny because my grandmother bought me the same Pujols rookie in St. Louis after my dad retired from the Navy in 2002. Fast forward and I have served in the Coast guard since 2005 with my Pujols rookie moving with me 6 times by the time I graded it in 2020 came back an 8.5. Not “super” valuable, but I’ll never upgrade it because of who bought it for me and it traveling with me the last 18.5 years.

Thanks for sharing your story and responding to my video Craig. It was great to get to know you in Cleveland and I look forward to seeing you again in person next year. I am definitely feeling the real community we've got going on. I think probably one of the big differences between us and the gamers might have to do with the average age. Us 40 and up guys feel less of a need to prop ourselves up at the expense of others than the 20 somethings. At this point in our lives, we are more comfortable in our own skin.

I'd like to make a recommendation for you. If you ever have a chance to go to Denver, go to Bill's sportscards. It's been there for 40 years. I refer to it as Disneyland for sports fans. 1 room for books. 1 room for magazines and discount items. 1 room for autographed items. 2 main rooms for vintage cards. I got most of my 62 football set there. Not much for pre war, but anything else you want.

Nice collection of Don Drysdale cards. During his six consecutive games shutout run, he had an interesting confrontation with a SF Giants batter, Dick Dietz (if I remember correctly). The Giants had the bases loaded in the 9th inning, and with Dietz "crowding" the plate and Drysdale known to pitch inside (like you stated), hits Dietz. It appears that his string of shutout innings is over, a hit batsman being awarded first base and the runner on third scoring. But the home plate umpire rules it a ball, because Dietz did not make an attempt to avoid the pitch. May be in the rule books, but it's probably rarely called/enforced. After the chaos was settled, the game was resumed with the Dodgers winning and Drysdale's consecutive shutout streak intact. I may be mistaken, but I thought Topps issued a card with Don Drysdale wearing a batting helmet. I think the Dodgers often used him as a pinch-hitter.

Great mail day! Congrats on the two Kobe’s, the 56s (love that set), the 67s and chasing that Kaline rookie. I was able to secure a Kaline rookie in a PSA 3 earlier this year. Love that card 😊

What a wonderful bounty, congratulations! I have recently compiled the most complete statistical profile on Hank Aaron that I know of, including his time playing in minor league playoff games in Eau Claire Wisconsin and will show it on a video at some point. 4272 hits.
I also get so excited about receiving cards I have wanted for so long. The 67 Aaron has a special story for me. When I was a kid I saw one at a flea market my parents were set up at and I didn't buy it. That night I thought about and I felt bad not getting it. The next day I asked my dad if he could find the dealer and see if he would take $20 for it. He had it for $25. My dad searched over 300 booths to find that card and negotiate with a dealer to bring that card home for me. My dad passed in 1999 and that is one of many memories I have of his love for me and the hobby we shared together. Thanks for sharing your love of cards with the RU-vid community.
