How does this compare to The Crew Fiber? It’s obviously dryer but I’m after something that offers a strong hold with no shine. Similar hair to you, maybe a bit shorter but blonde. Thanks!

The top ingredients are waxes and from my experience that’s never going to provide a true matte finish. I kinda guessed it would look more slick / shiny and your video reinforced that assumption haha. I’m sure it would be a great product for some folks but probably wouldn’t be for me. I am going to try their Dead Sea clay though.

It's saddens me that they changed the package to a squeeze bottle. It's not the original pump version that I wanted, lol. Same product, just different packaging. I guess the package got costly to mass-produce. 😅

Hi I have fine hair with a middle part haircut. Would you recommend this product for me? I currently use American Crew forming Cream however I’ve found that I want something with a stronger hold. I was thinking of using the cream I already have as a pre styler accompanied by Argan oil 2-3x a week and then the Moroccanoil clay as the main styler. What do you think? I know I’m late but would appreciate any help

@jordanebacher

Fun fact: Keratin doesn't do anything if you rub it in your hair. It's a protein that makes up your hair. Nutrition doesn't work that way (rubbing it into your hair).
@SlickBackSunday
@SlickBackSunday 3 года назад
Very true, but does the skin absorb any keratin through the skin? Besides that, the ingredient itself doesn’t have any downsides 👍
@jordanebacher
@jordanebacher 3 года назад
@@SlickBackSunday keratin and other proteins dont do anything if absorbed into the skin. It doesnt have downsides, I just don't like misleading marketing that many health and beauty companies partake in
@SlickBackSunday
@SlickBackSunday 3 года назад
The only other angle I can think is that the actual protein might help with the formulation itself. I assume in this case it’s more an ignorance problem, rather than wanting to purposely manipulate buyers.

Does it get oily in hot weather? For fine hair will it be a strong hold?
@SlickBackSunday

Never oily, potentially to dry for some people. The hold is firm/strong but provides loose texture. Don’t expect your style to stay tight or slick

Off topic, but did you try Fibre Royale from Triumph & Disaster ? If yes what do you think about it ? I've been using Daimon Barber Texture Clay (my go to) for years and wanted to try Norther Lights (which sound similar) or Fibre Royale (I also like the packaging on this one lol).

try baxter of california clay. they're easier to apply, they don't dry as much, and in my opinion it's much stronger than the arcadian clay. But the only downside is washibility, not very difficult, but you need shampoo to fully remove it. But also it's the only reason why they don't tug and dry, it's because it's not water based.

I thin you should not rub your like that with the product. From back to front slight bit of hand movement and then raise the hair. It will help to not let the product go in scalp so there’s no hair issues in the future. Apart from this, you’re doing an awesome review!😊
@SlickBackSunday

If you think rubbing your scalp causes balding you should really look up DHA. Balding is caused via a hormonal response due to testosterone conversion in the body
@kanishksharma753
@kanishksharma753 3 года назад
@@SlickBackSunday I’m not talking about “rubbing your scalp” or “balding” . I’m talking about putting in the product which is basically wax in your scalp. Ot would damage, that’s what I am talking about. Primarily, only the root should be left alone when using wax.
@SlickBackSunday
@SlickBackSunday 3 года назад
Doesn’t change my answer, OB users have been dipping their hair in wax and oil for years with no negative side effects. I’ve been styling my hair this way for 15+ years with zero hair loss. Unsure when the dangerous wax is going to strike! If you can find literature stating the negative aspects of wax on the scalp I would happily read it. Additionally, if wax caused baldness the beauty industry would be sued 10 times over by men and women across the world.
