I have exactly same problem, except that the whistling noise gets even louder when i remove the oil cap or oil stick, what could be the cause in my case?
The centre part of the solenoid you have shown is electrically operated and works with a magnetic shaft that pulls in and allows the air pressure to continue throttle the valve it's either seized or not working at all strip and inspect this piece first.
I am having this same problem. Much thanks to your video because I had no idea what was causing it. Sure enough I pulled the oil fill cap off and it stopped. Did you ever find out what the cause was?
Hey where exactly is that valve located? You said under the car...is it under the passenger side by rear door....I see a protection panel that can come down...just dont want to take it down if thats not the location
supaaaafly Bad height sensor? Ok how did you determine that after all of your trouble shooting? I have replace the ECM and the EAS Control Unit still nothing..... I'm knee deep in now so....Height Sensor sure I will try it😀
Jeffrey Harvey reset your car disconnect battery next check for holes in air suspension next learn how to reset air suspension. Check your air suspension fuses .
Where is that valve located on your vehicle and that’s all you did was just changed out height sensor and your rocker lights come back on? Thank you sir
That's The Oil Trap. You need to replace it. That' happened on my 2006 S40. These cars have an oil trap instead of PCV. If you pull the oil dipstick you notice that the whistling noise is reducing.
The oil trap is the same assembly of the oil filter. This is an example of one. www.ebay.com/itm/New-31338685-PCV-Valve-Oil-Trap-Oil-Filter-Housing-For-2004-14-Volvo-C70-S40-V50-/272385777097?hash=item3f6b751dc9:m:mLJvGmHTrDyOLXfCAjzIZuw&vxp=mtr I Recommend of buying this for a reliable source of your preference. Depends of your mileage some dealerships can replace that without any cost. I am pretty sure that there is a Service Bulletin about this. Is Technical Bulletin 2538
