What can we take away and still have poetry? I will not include my process of elimination here; suffice it to say that we cannot eliminate language, nor the poet, nor the audience. If this proves to be true, then poetry is language in performance or performed language
also just gonna say bruja is/was probably ‘afraid’ of your ex bc from what i remember she’s either a lawyer or training to become one, right? liars don’t like lawyers since they fear people who might hold them accountable (which is why you’ve both been ‘banned’ from the space). so sorry for all the personal trauma you’ve been navigating too ❤
echoing all the love coming your way, wordz. it’s really hard to tell the truth when others are lying to protect their interests. the liars will try to make you look dramatic and insubordinate (sound familiar?). it means a lot that at the center of your concerns are those five people who were being harassed, especially that one poet who had been routinely suppressed (despite being victimized). legally, it may help to focus on what you specifically are owed/can claim such as your lost wages + compensation for your hybrid show. start calculating dollar amounts for these things bc that’s all court cares about unfortunately. you’ll need capital for the spiritual fight you’re taking on. i’m glad that your giant has reawakened. much love
as soon as you mentioned the harassment allegations were completely unknown to you, i felt like it was deflection by bruja to cover her protecting a disrespectful individual. i hate that you basically had to become aware over time that you were being made the scapegoat for someone else’s bad behavior. the outright lies and manipulation involved sounds wild. i agree that legal help, or a written statement may be helpful in just affirming your truth. this is really unfair and i’m sorry you’re having to deal with it. especially the stopped paycheck. what the hell
Any time someone tells you not to talk it is because they know their lies will be discovered. You should definitely speak with an attorney because it doesn't seem like there is a lot of information that was documented regarding your release. Good luck and honestly, it sounds like you are about to have a glow up with your own platform!

You never shed a tear You watched the Moon, you understood as Nature made its claim. - I noticed then you hardly slept, in silent meditation deep Things would move before your stare, you never suffered ills You would sing verse you weren’t taught, draw creatures from their sleep And they would sing along with you, nightbirds, raccoons and frogs Until an orchestra of sound rose up so beautiful to hear Surprising to myself as well, I never suffered fear. - But when you grew past childhood, when blood began to flow You ventured nightly through the woods following the song That seemed to spring from all the trees, song I didn’t know When young men came along to call, they froze at your red eyes And went away not to return, then rumors began to grow Fear from all the Villagers, the stories, hate and cries. - One bright morning we were taken by a tap upon our door Standing there all dressed in brown, four girls of Sophie’s age They came inside and took her hand, outside a man on horse She knew them all, they took a draught, then all sat on the floor A chant began, rose to a scream, the sound was tempest worse They took her then, she bade Goodbye, her happiness I saw. - I live alone, shunned by all, inside my mind I know When Moonlight falls and nightbirds sing I feel that I am blessed She’s watching o’er my life and trials, she brings the sun and snow And as I age I feel her here when chairs and tables move A whisper low, a song I hear, the call of her pet crow. Making a mental note now to always watch these videos muted and captioned. What an utterly unnecessary and baffling production choice to add that insufferable pitch-shifting effect to the voice.
