I recently came across something that sparked some wonderful memories from my childhood. I grew up in the VMH Projects in the early 80s, right next to Agua Fria High School. While I know things were tough back then, I have to say, it was also a time filled with joy and strong bonds. My mom did an incredible job raising nine kids, and a special shout-out goes to Isiah Sims, who served as a real father figure to me during those years. Life has taken me to Idaho now, where I built a wonderful life with my family. We have a new home, a daughter serving proudly in the Air Force, and a son who excels in soccer. My wife and I are incredibly blessed. Looking back, I realize just how much Avondale shaped me and the life I have today. My mom and Isiah played a huge role in that, and I'm incredibly grateful for their presence in my childhood.
