WOW! That was THE MOST down to earth, genuine, helpful, inspiring and motivating speech about achieving your creative goals I have EVER heard! As someone who is about to start animation school in a month, I SO needed to hear that and that is some invaluable advice! It’s got me even more pumped than I was before! What a legend Alex is 🙌🏽✨
Me: Eh seems cool but it’s a bit long may watch it late- *watches the whole thing* LONG COMMENT WARNING! Read at the digression of your attention span! : Jokes aside this is really insightful. Not just to animation but to story telling as a whole. I think I’ve learned a lot from this, and have realized why I can’t even manage to come up with a decent idea lol. The fear hydra is a really big problem for me. My own anxiety, perfectionism, and procrastination have stopped me from making amazing stories. Sometimes I forget that making a story is something that comes out of a place of passion. I kept wanting to make something so …perfect. Something that would get a big and awesome fandom. For hours I would keep over analyzing what makes stories like Gravity Falls so successful, that I realize I lost what gives the medium of storytelling its soul in the first place. I honestly can’t be more thankful for this advice, and I hope that one day I can be the one to inspire someone else one day. Thanks for reading my long ramble. Kudos to you for getting to the end
This is sadly gonna be the very last information drop about The Owl House we'll ever get. Dana answers to fans questions only at these events, and right now, as she said, she's currently working on her next project. So by the time she has another panel (which might take years, I don't think she's gonna guest another panel anytime soon) her next project might be revealed, and people will focus more on that one, and hardly make other questions about TOH.
The explanation Dana Terrace gives from the video point 59:06 on is definitely shocking. Dana explains that her Disney series The Owl House is censored in an LGBTI-inimical way. There is indeed an essential obligation that we all have to respect persons that are intersexual or non binary. If an intersexual person is misgendered accidentally it can be accepted sometimes but if that happens on purpose then it definitely is interphobic. And if kissing scenes between two girls or two boys are censored or faded out it crystal clearly is homophobic. This way of treating a series should never happen.
What a dream come true to see my 3 favorite creators talking with each other!!! I love all these shows so much and I think it’s such a crazy thing to think of them knowing each other!! The way Viv said “I’m sorry” when everyone was sad that it was the last question 😭 Also I absolutely love the idea of Hooty cussing lol
@Seffyseffyseffy they mean that Matt, Vivienne and Dana were the one's to make such a huge impact on the animation industry that they started a change and a new era. Which I don't completely see bc while they did have an insane impact, I haven't seen much of a change but that's what i took from the reply
@@olleselin oh i'm sure they'll have an impact in the future :) I just don't think that era has started yet, at least I don't see it yet ! A good example of current "modern renaissance" in animation to me is Spider-man Across the Spiderverse. They truly changed the industry with that movie.
56:55 cant believe the actual pilot got leaked. Its insane what they actually had and how Spencer nearly spoiled the concept that would become the Raven beast in season 2 and even how Luz got to the demon realm. Also the ending was... interesting.
this had such an impact on me that every time I'm being lazy or trying to postpone my projects, my mind just says "dude. dude. beard death. you want that?" and I start my work right away. because I believe I wouldn't look so hot with beard.
I’ve only discovered Dana a 4-5 months ago but I have to say, I love her work, owl house is an amazing show and I love how she’s showing people her work, she’s amazing at her work and she inspires a lot of people, including myself!
It’s interesting how many people relate to Anne! Personally I relate to Marcy, being socially awkward, nerdy, clumsy and super sweet and super talkative too lol! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE hearing the voice actors speak about their characters and hearing Goofy talk to Hop Pop is ICONIC! 😆 I didn’t realize Amanda voiced Poppy from the trolls series!!!! That’s SO AWESOME!!! 🤩 I’m fangirling so hard as a multifandom girl lol! I think it’s amazing that Amphibia’s whole thing is that it’s about growth and change, just like how a frog has growth and change going from a tadpole to a frog!! I was going to ask why no one mentioned the scene where Marcy dies, but then I remembered the question is FAVORITE sad moment and that was definitely not a favorite of anyone 😭
