We just had a nest on the back edge of our property, I would go back every few days to see if she was still there, staying far enough away that it didn't seem to bother her, went back yesterday and she was gone, thought she may be out eating so looked a little closer and saw the eggs were gone, no broken shells or anything, is that good or bad, sure did want to see those baby ducks.

The description of the (simple, obvious) so-called "greenhouse effect" in Earth's troposphere at 54:07 to 56:57 is entirely incorrect, as per normal for these explanations (presumably because they are all simply Parroted from whatever crummy incorrect source decided decades ago that it was simple enough to fart around the place and seemed sort-of plausible to the average ho hum brain with little education). I've had a bee in my bonnet about that since 2016 when I pondered it and understood properly how it works after 4 hours pondering it. Oh well, I suppose it doesn't matter because it's only the foundation of the entire topic is all.

A few facts. None of this is speculative or controversial -It's been known in physics for well over a century that CO2 absorbs and re-radiates infrared, AKA heat -With no CO2, Earth's average temperature would be ~0 F instead of ~61 F. -Industry raised CO2 to 150% of what has been the normal high for a million years… As CO2 rises so does temperature. -When heat energy is added to a fluid system it becomes more active. -A warmer, more active atmosphere means more extreme weather. -A warmer atmosphere increases evaporation making droughts worse faster with more crop failures and fires. -A warmer atmosphere holds more water vapor. 7% more per 1 C. This makes precipitation more intense. This produces more and worse flooding. Water vapor is also a GHG. -A warmer atmosphere melts more ice. The heat plus the melt expand the volume of the ocean. -Less white ice reveals more blue ocean which absorbs more heat. -Melting permafrost releases more methane which is a far more potent GHG than CO2. -Because of geography, the Arctic is warming much faster than the Earth as a whole. This changes the Jet Stream to larger, deeper waves which makes warm, high-pressure and cool, low-pressure areas more extreme producing more extreme weather. -Warmer oceans means more energy is available to tropical storms. These are just some of the basic changes to climate and weather. Beyond this is how it affects agriculture and all living things that can’t adapt fast enough to this rapid change.
@grindupBaker
@grindupBaker 9 месяцев назад
The "CO2 ... re-radiates infrared" is for sure correct, it must happen. It is NOT however what causes the so-called "greenhouse effect" in Earth's troposphere. The physics of "greenhouse effect" is trivially simple and obvious, basically "colder things radiate less than warmer things" and nothing whatsoever to do with the "re-radiates" that sometimes must happen.

Yep. GooglesTubes started warning me 8 months ago not to inform so many consecutive imbecile-Trolls that they are imbecile-Trolls then GooglesTubes gave up on that and just Ghosts a large portion of my comments. It isn't my fault that there's such humongous hordes of imbecile-Trolls is it ? Makes no sense does it because I'm not in charge of Life so I don't decide. If there's billions of imbecile-Trolls that I must inform to them that they're imbecile-Trolls then I shouldn't be punished should I because I didn't ask them to exist or order them to be imbecile-Trolls did I ? It's a classic case of GoogleyTubes shooting the messenger or it would be maybe "blaming the victim" (except I think that's usually for a lady).

We need to stop this hysteria now! We are ruining the human civilization!! We don't have much time left!!! Was that alarmist enough to catch the alarmists? I hope so. The alarmists need to wake up and realize that their prescribed "cure" for the "disease" of atmospheric CO2 is killing the patient: our human, modern, developed civilization. What's the point of bringing us all back to the medieval ages, in order to mediate the consequences a changing climate will have on modern human life? We’d be better off using our limited resources adjusting to the effects of the coming climate change. Humanity always used to adjust to the surroundings, before we lost our collective mind and decided that everything that's happening to the Earth is Our Making! That’s not a little proposterous: Earth was here - and changing - before human civilization emerged, and Earth will be here as long as the solar system exists. Us terminating ourselves in advance won't do any good to anything, much less to us humans. We are also part of nature, and an amazing part as well! #savethenature

WMO reports that extreme weather events have increased 5-fold in 50 years. This is not natural. The warm peak of this interglacial warm period was 6,000 ago. Earth should still be slowly cooling towards the next distant glaciation. That trend ended abruptly with the Industrial revolution and it has gotten progressively warmer since the last record cold year... 1909. This is not natural. (SEE NASA Vital Signs global temperature) It's not just that this is the warmest it's been in 125,000 years (look it up) but that it's happening 10x faster than a post-glacial warming.

@@lrvogt1257 You are engaging in the same tiresome programmed argument. Where did I say that the planet isn't warming? Define "extreme". It's not even a scientific term. It's a political term used to generate fear. Every single storm today is defined as "extreme". What isn't an extreme weather event, sunshine and blue sky? 5-fold in 50 years? Where does this data exist? Warmest in 125,000 years? And why 125,000? I have a NOAA graph that goes back 800,000 years. There is no change. It's recorded as "Temperature anomalies" in Celsius. As measured this way it bounced consistently up and down around 16 times, hitting -5 twice and retreated upon arriving close to, or at +2 six times. It almost hit +3 once and today we're at +1. Ironically exactly 125,000 years ago it was the hottest in 800,000 years, so this 125,000 year claim is not only completely incorrect, It's the exact opposite. Just go examine a NOAA graph. Over the last 600 million years it has been dramatically hotter. Data proves that humanity has never been safer, healthier or more prosperous than at any time in history, by any metric you care to examine. How do you reconcile this.

At 1:08 Tom speculates on the likelihood of potential temperature rise. He postulates that us humans may get our act together as was done with ozone depleting chemicals. The causes for a less severe rise in temps rather may be that humans likely will be burning less because there is much less oil available (think peak oil) or concurrently and more likely, the smooth functioning of society that support such burning will become chaotic. Given the chances of crop failure, poor distribution of water, goods, energy and waste combined with disease, war and other political tension there is a pretty good chance that things are going to change. Changes such as mass death are scary things and to talk about them is taboo. But mass human death may be the saving grace for the rest of the planet. Such powerful forces that may drive such a potential cannot be denied but rather ought to be embraced. Leave early while the leaving is good!

@anthonymorris5084
@anthonymorris5084 9 месяцев назад
@@lrvogt1257 There is no evidence of food insecurity, and this has never been threatened by climate change. It is an issue derived from over population, which the climate movement doesn't even care about. The expansion of the Sahara Desert is created by wind that moves sand south. The land south of the Sahara isn't turning into sand and certainly not because of warming, the sand is simply moving. All ecosystems across the world evolve and change. Science tells us that somewhere between 5,000 to 11,000 years ago the Sahara was totally green. How do you reconcile this? The climate movement simply has a propensity to find any issue and then dishonestly blame it on climate change. The Arctic is melting because the planet is warming. This is an indisputable fact. Nowhere is there any evidence that this represents any kind of threat. There is no data that demonstrates anything alive has been threatened by Arctic warming. The hyperbolic pronunciations are all speculative, alarmist and never come to fruition.
