What’s the smallest top you can make for this ? and recommended main line ? Please
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 2 года назад
Hi Kevin, the tops are all the same size at the moment, but you can shot them down, to reduce the amount of tip stuck out if you want. We may introduce some smaller versions in the future. I tend to use 3 and 4lb lines. If Iam fishing at greater distance and putting more into the cast I will use the 4lb line. Thanks for your questions 👍😁

How do you plumet this float, I tried and the plumet didn't even sink the float, is there any other way..cheers
@jessopj7325
@jessopj7325 3 года назад
Hi Mark, you can use a heavier plummet or add shot to the line between the Sodafloat and the plummet, so you don't need a s big a plummet to pull the float under. Cheers, Paul.

@@sodafloatjessop4906 no problem! Can I just ask one question, please? When casting the sodafloat, if I were to feather/touch the line with my finger to aid accurate casting and to get it to land on the same spot each time (in the event that I’d cast further than intended) would this affect how the sodafloat works? I was just thinking that the sharp resistance may cause the ball to go to the bottom of the shaft and in turn release all the bait inside and causing the float to not work as intended. Thanks.
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 3 года назад
@@LR-Fishing Hi Lee, providing you keep your line tight, ie reel in as soon as the Sodafloat splashes down, the bait will remain inside because the air contained in the ball will prevent the ball dropping down the shaft for 2-3 seconds. I frequently overcast them and reel them into position. You can see when the float discharges the feed because it will cock fractionally lower as the ball drops, due to the displaced air.

Hi I fish in very deep water, could you tell me if you fish it with locking shots or fish it like a slider float using a stop knot?
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 4 года назад
7pinky7 thanks for your question. If you were going to fish it as a slider, the eye is big enough to fish it this way. Put all your shot as a bulk and tie a slider knot off at the appropriate depth. The bulk should pull the line through the eye until it reaches the stop knot. I normally fish it with locking shots or a pellet waggler adapter because the venues I fish are not so deep or I am fishing up in the water with them.

Sodafloat Jessop Thanks for you quick response. I just bought one from eBay. I have used the swim feeder float (years ago) which never quite worked for me, great invention. Tight lines.

Is it better to use high in the water on the bottom or in the middle
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 4 года назад
Hi Roger, they are effective at any depth, during summer, if you are fishing for carp I would fish them up in the water at 1ft to 18" deep.

H i , i tried it but i didnt get to make a video. It was not the venue to test out stuff. What i did do the day before was to see how it worked. It did work and caught me a few fish . The problem i seem to have is the big splash and sound it creates on the water. Are there smaller sized sodafloats?
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 6 лет назад
I'm glad it worked for you. Sometimes the splash is a good thing and it actually attracts the fish, but if you want to avoid it splashing amongst the fish, overcast the Sodafloat and keep your line tight - you can then reel it into position before it drops the loose feed. At the moment we only have the one size I'm afraid.

I expect its another gimmick that will catch far more anglers than it does fish
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 7 лет назад
Hi Derek, no this actually works and will earn it's place in your Tackle box. There is nothing else out there that will enable you to float fish and feed particles accurately at distances further than you can catapult. You can use it to feed dry pellet, sweet corn, chopped worm, hemp , groundbait, slop, maggots, casters etc, etc - in fact any sinking bait that will fit inside the Sodafloat. You can also put your hook inside the Sodafloat when fishing up against features and you don't want to get snagged up. Try one you might be pleasantly surprised. It will help you to catch fish.

I'm going to rush lyvars tomorrow with the soda float. It looks and feels though it will do well...looking forward to using it. One question..can you use it with a small lash like a method float? Or even put ye hook bait in side withe particle baite.....thanks. And wish me luck.
@sodafloatjessop4906
@sodafloatjessop4906 7 лет назад
Hi Jamie, I have used it with a short lash about 18" and done well and yes you can put the hook bait inside. I use this technique a lot when I fish with it, It's really handy when you are fishing up to features as well, I hope you have a good day. Let me know how you go - good luck mate.
